Abstract: Water-soluble or water-dispersible, substantially air-impermeable, pharmacologically acceptable, liquid barrier compositions for treating ectoparasite infestations on animal skin and hair, wherein the compositions contain at least one monohydric aralkyl alcohol to prevent the ectoparasites from closing their respiratory systems, and wherein the compositions are free from pesticides.
Abstract: Contact killing antimicrobial articles, devices and formulations are described which kill microorganisms on contact. The articles, devices or formulations contain a non-leaching antimicrobial material which is a unique combination of an organic matrix having biocidal metallic materials non-leachably associated with the matrix. The antimicrobial material may used to form an antimicrobial coating or layer on a surface of the article or device, or may be dispersed in a vehicle or carrier to form a topical antiseptic or disinfectant, or solid shape having contact killing antimicrobial properties. When a microorganism contacts the article, device, or formulation, the biocidal metallic material is transferred to the microorganism in amounts sufficient to kill it.

Abstract: There are described a method for the control of wood pests which comprises applying to the pests or to their habitat a pesticidally active amount of a pesticidal composition comprising, as active ingredient, at least a compound of formula in free form or in the form of an agrochemically acceptable salt, and at least one adjuvant; the corresponding use of those compounds, pesticidal compositions whose active ingredient is selected from those compounds, a process for the preparation of such compositions, the use of such compositions, and plant propagation material accordingly protected against pest attack.
Abstract: The present invention provides a pediculicidal and ovicidal composition with an extraordinarily lethal effectiveness that can also be used to remove parasites, such as lice. The pediculicidal and ovicidal composition contains a purified terpene agent such as citronellal, citronellol, citronellyl or a mixture thereof, a short chain alcohol, and a non-aqueous co-solvent and/or surfactant component. The composition more preferably utilizes citronellyl acetate as the active agent. The compositions can be administered topically to humans, animals or any infested areas.
Abstract: A microbicidally coated article, especially a container, having on at least part of it a coating comprising an organically modified inorganic matrix comprising silver colloids which is obtainable by application of a coating composition comprising a) a hydrolysate or condensate based on at least one hydrolysable silane with at least one non-hydrolysable substituent and b) a silver compound to the surface of the article and treatment with heat and/or radiation to form the silver colloid coating. Articles coated in accordance with the invention are therefore particularly suitable for purposes of disinfection, preservation, cosmetic, pharmaceutical or medical purposes. Articles from the pharmaceutical or medical sector, especially containers for pharmaceuticals or articles or components which come into contact with the human body and are required to be free from germs, are preferred fields of application.

Abstract: A drug delivery device such as an oral dosage form (ODF) with a toxic or potent core encapsulated by a non-toxic region. The non-toxic region may be a region including multiple layers, coatings, shells, and combinations thereof, which provides protection to and isolation from the toxic or potent core. The drug in the toxic or potent core is incorporated into the dosage form via, for example, three-dimensional printing, as a solution, solubilization or suspension of solid particles in liquid, rather than by the more conventional handling and compressing of dry powder. This minimizes the likelihood of creating airborne particles of the toxic drug during manufacturing, hence controlling and minimizing the exposure of manufacturing personnel to the hazardous substance. Wet dispensing of the toxic or potent drug further provides greater bioavailability of the drug to the patient.

Abstract: Antimicrobial compositions which can be used wherever disinfecting compositions are needed, such as in a hospital, healthcare industry, workplace, recreational facility, home or similar environment. The antimicrobial compositions are particularly useful as a topical application for a substrate, such as skin and can be used as a hand sanitizer or pre-surgical scrub. The compositions comprise a synergistic combination of a simple aliphatic alcohol and an activity enhancing substance, wherein the composition provides, heretofore unexpected, persistent activity against a broad range of microorganisms, including gram-negative organisms, while moisturizing the skin.
