  • Patent number: 9807381
Abstract: In embodiments of imaging structure emitter calibration, an imaging unit includes an emitter structure that direct emits light, and optics direct the light along a light path in the imaging unit to illuminate a projection surface. A reflective panel reflects a portion of the light to illuminate a light sensor. An imaging application receives the sensor data from the light sensor, where the sensor data corresponds to emitted light output from the emitter structure. The imaging application can then initiate a calibration input to the emitter structure to adjust the emitted light output from the emitter structure.

  • Patent number: 9788012
Abstract: Coding techniques for a video image compression system involve improving an image quality of a sequence of two or more bi-directionally predicted intermediate frames, where each of the frames includes multiple pixels. One method involves determining a brightness value of at least one pixel of each bi-directionally predicted intermediate frame in the sequence as an equal average of brightness values of pixels in non-bidirectionally predicted frames bracketing the sequence of bi-directionally predicted intermediate frames. The brightness values of the pixels in at least one of the non-bidirectionally predicted frames is converted from a non-linear representation.

  • Patent number: 9769500
Abstract: Approaches for processing video in a smart small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver. The smart SFP transceiver may dynamically assess characteristics of its environment, such as link bandwidth or video attributes. Thereafter, the smart SFP transceiver dynamically selects, from a plurality of codecs available to the smart SFP transceiver, an appropriate codec for use in processing the video prior to the video being transmitted over a link. The selection of the codec may be based, at least in part, on the assessed environmental attributes. The smart SFP transceiver may then use the codec selected by the smart SFP transceiver to process the video, e.g., the video may be encoded, compressed, or timing information generated.

  • Patent number: 9729788
Abstract: A characteristic point extraction unit extracts a characteristic point in an overlapping region of a plurality of component images picked up using a camera built in portable equipment and having pan angles or elevation angles different from each other. • Patent number: 9712803
Abstract: A receiving system and a method of processing data are disclosed herein. The receiving system includes a receiving unit, a system information processor, a decoding unit, and a display unit. The receiving unit receives a broadcast signal including a 3D content and system information associated with the 3D content. The system information processor extracts identification information from the system information. Herein, the identification information may identify that the broadcast signal being received by the receiving unit includes the 3D content. The decoding unit decodes the received 3D content based upon transmission format information of the 3D content. Herein, the transmission format information may be included in the extracted identification information. And, the display unit displays the 3D content decoded by the decoding unit as a 3D image based upon a display method of a display device.

  • Patent number: 9693051
Abstract: A predictive video coder performs gradient prediction based on previous blocks of image data. For a new block of image data, the prediction determines a horizontal gradient and a vertical gradient from a block diagonally above the new block (vertically above a previous horizontally adjacent block). Based on these gradients, the encoder predicts image information based on image information of either the horizontally adjacent block or a block vertically adjacent to the new block. The encoder determines a residual that is transmitted in an output bitstream. The decoder performs the identical gradient prediction and predicts image information without need for overhead information. The decoder computes the actual information based on the predicted information and the residual from the bitstream.
