  • Patent number: 10467513
Abstract: Printing symbols on media is described. Sequential parts of a symbol are marked onto each of multiple corresponding sequential segments of the medium. A characteristic of each of the sequential symbol parts is evaluated. A speed is monitored with which the medium is moved upon the marking of each of the sequential symbol parts onto each of the corresponding sequential segments of the medium. An image, captured in relation to the evaluation, is adjusted based on the monitored speed. Adjusting the captured image may include setting a rate at which the evaluation of the characteristic of each of the sequential symbol parts is performed based on the monitored speed or alternatively, predicting a distortion in the evaluated characteristic of each of the sequential symbol parts corresponding to the monitored speed, and applying a change to the captured image corresponding to, and ameliorating the predicted distortion.

  • Patent number: 10430131
Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus that can establish secure wireless direct connection with a terminal. A connection information transmitting part transmits the connection information of wireless direct connection to a terminal by short-range wireless connection. A password generating part, by using connection information transmitted by the connection information transmitting part, generates a password and transmits to the terminal in which the wireless direct connection has been established. A connection determining part continues connection with the terminal when the password transmitted by the password generating part is inputted on a self-apparatus and disconnects connection with the terminal when the password is not inputted on the self-apparatus.

  • Patent number: 10397424
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises a printer for forming an image on a sheet, an image scanner for reading a measurement image formed on a sheet, and a controller. The printer forms the measurement image at four corners of the sheet. The image scanner reads the sheet on which the measurement image is formed by dividing into two parts. The controller generates an entire read image of the sheet from the read image of the measurement image which is read by the image scanner by dividing into two parts. The controller generates an adjustment condition to adjust a position of an image formed by the printer based on the entire read image of the sheet. The controller causes the printer to form the image based on the adjustment condition.

  • Patent number: 10389888
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion configured to form an image on an intermediate transfer belt, a density sensor configured to measure a density of the image formed on the intermediate transfer belt, and a printer controller. On the intermediate transfer belt, a first test image and a third test image having different densities are alternately formed at different positions in a main scanning direction. At a position adjacent to the first test image in a sub-scanning direction, a second test image having a different density from that of the first test image is formed. At a position adjacent to the third test image in the sub-scanning direction, a fourth test image having a different density from that of the third test image is formed. The printer controller generates a gradation correction table based on a result of measurement of each test image by the density sensor.

  • Patent number: 10264159
Abstract: A printed document manager manages printed documents and is separate from a Document Management System (DMS) that manages electronic soft copy documents also known as source documents. Documents in a DMS repository are registered in a postmark registry by a registration agent. When a document that is registered in the postmark registry is printed, a graphical symbol referred to as a “postmark” is generated and inserted into the print stream so the postmark is printed on the hard copy of the document. The printed document is logged in a printed document store along with metadata associated with the printed document. The postmark on the printed document can be used for one or more purposes, such as to determine whether the printed document can be shredded after use and to determine whether the printed document is current.
