  • Patent number: 10441898
Abstract: Conventional oil-water separation methods are inefficient since they break down a given “primary” phase into two “secondary” phases, one is richer and the other one is poorer in the “secondary” phase of the “primary” phase. As such, neither oil is recovered as a readily de-watered stream nor is water recovered as a readily de-oiled stream. However, de-watering and de-oiling of “oil-water” streams are synonymous, and therefore they should be simultaneously targeted by an efficient method. There are provided herein systems and methods to effectively treat “oil-water” streams by simultaneously de-watering the oil phase and de-oiling the water phase, de-scaling the de-oiled water phase, and de-salting the de-scaled water phase.

  • Patent number: 10442688
Abstract: An ionization chamber is disclosed that can free ions in water creating polarized atoms of hydrogen and oxygen derived from water in the process. The water can be comprised of non-potable waste water. Once the hydrogen and oxygen ions are released, and polarized in the process, the electrons can be aligned such that the end product is the release of hydrogen and the bonding of the oxygen with the free electrons of the other element(s) such as Titanium or Tungsten for example, without high heat or pressure as is normally required. The chamber is comprised of a series of metallic rods, a series of solid nickel mesh plates, a vacuum pump, a dual pulsed D.C. Power supply (from 200-800 VDC pulsed and a low power, ?24 VDC pulsed at 400-600 Hz.), a water bath chamber, a ceramic or Teflon encapsulated feeder assembly, and an R.F. Pulse generator.

  • Patent number: 10435295
Abstract: An improved method for processing heterogeneous municipal solid waste, biomass and even construction and demolition waste into liquid hydrocarbon fuels and chemicals is obtained by coupling the synthesis process with an electric furnace. The furnace separates the metals and inorganics from the organic materials. The high temperatures gasify the organics into a relatively clean syngas after particulate and acid gas removal. The yield is increased above that expected from the feedstock by the addition of waste effluents from the synthesis process, such as CO2, H2O and possibly tail gas constituents. The recycled effluents are heated by the syngas being quenched in heat exchangers. Excess high pressure effluents are also heated by the syngas for power generation via gas or steam turbine generators. The optimum concentration of added effluents and heat exchanger configurations are determined by novel methods for maximum yield, energy efficiency and minimum carbon footprint.

  • Patent number: 10421914
Abstract: A method comprising a combination and sequential methods to: a.-)Produce solid vacuum residue, b.-) Melt the solid vacuum residue, and c.-)Heat the melted Solid Vacuum residue. This invention applies to any single or mixture of hydrocarbons including one or more heavy crude oils, extra heavy crude oils, tar sands and/or bitumens, (named heavy feedstocks). The heavy feedstock is processed in the production field or a nearby location using atmospheric, vacuum distillation and a solid forming unit, to produce liquid distillates and a solid vacuum residue resulting from a deep cut point of the heavy vacuum gasoil. The Solid Vacuum Residue is melted and heated at the destination to be used as feedstocks in refineries deep conversion units to optimize operations and economics. This invention reduces the diluent imports at the heavy feedstocks production fields used for its production and/or its transportation.

  • Patent number: 10407622
Abstract: The present invent provides improved rapid thermal conversion processes for efficiently converting wood, other biomass materials, and other carbonaceous feedstock (including hydrocarbons) into high yields of valuable liquid product, e.g., bio-oil, on a large scale production. In an embodiment, biomass material, e.g., wood, is feed to a conversion system where the biomass material is mixed with an upward stream of hot heat carriers, e.g., sand, that thermally convert the biomass into a hot vapor stream. The hot vapor stream is rapidly quenched with quench media in one or more condensing chambers located downstream of the conversion system. The rapid quenching condenses the vapor stream into liquid product, which is collected from the condensing chambers as a valuable liquid product. In one embodiment, the liquid product itself is used as the quench media.

  • Patent number: 10386353
Abstract: The system includes an infusion chamber to receive a selected amount of extraction solvent and a sample to be analyzed. The reagents are incubated in the infusion chamber, which is sealed at both ends by rubber stoppers and filter baskets. The reagents are agitated and incubated at the desired temperature for a specified length of time. One end of the infusion chamber is then replaced with a filter-funnel assembly, and a plunger is slidingly received in the opposite end of the infusion chamber to pressurize it and expel the contents of the infusion chamber. The filter-funnel assembly holds back solid matter while allowing the solution to pass through a funnel and either into a spectrometric cuvette. Spectrometry is used to identify compounds, varieties of cannabis, and calculate potencies of edible cannabis-infused products. This system serializes the infusion, extraction, filtration, spectroscopic analysis and can be operated by non-experts.
