  • Patent number: 10785056
Abstract: A subnet of a logically isolated network within a provider network may be shared between client accounts of the provider network. A request to share a subnet of a logically isolated network created for one client account with another client account may be received. A link between an account object for the other client account and a shared subnet object for the subnet may be stored. When a request to host a resource with the subnet is received, an evaluation of the graph may indicate whether the request to place the host is permitted. If permitted, the resource for the other client host may be hosted within the subnet.

  • Patent number: 10708187
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and software for implementing enhanced data center congestion management for non-TCP traffic. Non-congested transit latencies are determined for transmission of packets or Ethernet frames along paths between source and destination end-end-nodes when congestion along the paths is not present or minimal. Transit latencies are similarly measured along the same source-destination paths during ongoing operations during which traffic congestion may vary. Based on whether a difference between the transit latency for a packet or frame and the non-congested transit latency for the path exceeds a threshold, the path is marked as congested or not congested. A rate at which the non-TCP packets are transmitted along the path is then managed as function of a rate at which the path is marked as congested.

  • Patent number: 10708828
Abstract: An access node (20) of a cellular network receives an information centric networking request of a user equipment (10) for a data object. The access node forwards the information centric networking request to a local gateway (30) associated with the access node (20). The local gateway (30) maintains a pending interest table including an entry for each data object having a pending information centric networking request at the local gateway (30). In response to the user equipment (10) moving from a coverage area of the access node (20) to a coverage area of a further access node (21), the access node (20) and the further access node (21) perform a handover procedure. The further access node (21) is associated with a further local gateway (31) maintaining a further pending interest table. The further pending interest table includes an entry for each data object having a pending information centric networking request at the further local gateway (31).

  • Patent number: 10701002
Abstract: A method for deallocating memory in a first network device is described. A multicast packet is received and stored in memory cells. Egress descriptors corresponding to the multicast packet are generated for transmission of the multicast packet. A final count of the egress descriptors is determined. The egress descriptors are processed for transmission of the multicast packet and a value of a signed reference counter corresponding to the multicast packet is updated in a first direction before the final count has been determined and after a copy of the multicast packet has been received by an egress port of the first network device. The value of the signed reference counter is updated in a second direction opposite the first direction by the final count after determination of the final count. The memory cells are deallocated when cumulative first direction updates are equal to the second direction update.

  • Patent number: 10673729
Abstract: An interference-based metric is used for control purposes in a cellular network, e.g., for controlling association of a user equipment to a cell of the cellular network. The metric is defined as a ratio of a first value and a second value. The first value represents the strength of a reference signal (RS) transmitted by a base station of the cell as measured by the user equipment. The second value represents the strength of interference (IF) at the user equipment. Depending on the metric, a radio access configuration for the user equipment and the cell is controlled. This may for example involve association of the user equipment to the cell, e.g., in the course of a handover process or idle mode cell selection process.

  • Patent number: 10673672
Abstract: A method and apparatus provide synchronization signals and random access for flexible radio communication. Downlink orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signals including a synchronization signal can be received. The synchronization signal can be transmitted with a first subcarrier spacing and a first bandwidth. Cell detection can be performed using the received downlink orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signals to detect at least one cell. A cell of the at least one detected cell can be selected. Information of at least one subcarrier spacing associated with the selected cell can be received. The at least one subcarrier spacing can be used for communication. A second subcarrier spacing can be selected from the at least one subcarrier spacing. Fine downlink timing information can be obtained from an extended synchronization signal having a second bandwidth when the selected second subcarrier spacing is larger than the first subcarrier spacing.
