  • Patent number: 11082279
Abstract: Because the number of transmitted layers can vary dynamically, the number of transmitted demodulation reference signals (DM-RS) can also vary. However, because the network node can know the number of ports, transmitted layers, or the rank, the network node can utilize the number as part of the scheduling information via a downlink or an uplink control channel. Therefore, the DMRS sequence generation can modified such that it depends on the number of ports, transmitted layers, or the rank, thereby generating a different random sequence for different ports.

  • Patent number: 11070483
Abstract: In one embodiment, a maximum transmission unit (MTU) mismatch assessment service receives a notification of a mismatch between a packet size of a packet sent by a source to a destination in a network and an MTU of an intermediate router between the source and destination in the network. The service determines, using a machine learning-based model, that the mismatch represents a persistent MTU mismatch condition at the intermediate router. The service identifies a target router in the network to receive a configuration adjustment instruction, based on the persistent MTU mismatch condition. The service sends the configuration adjustment instruction to the target router, to alleviate the persistent MTU mismatch condition at the intermediate router.

  • Patent number: 11050656
Abstract: A path suggestion tool in a Software-Defined Networking (SDN) architecture to predict a router's future usage based on an analysis of the router's historical usage over a given period of time in the past and to recommend a routing path within the network in view of the predicted future usages of the routers/switches in the network. The path suggestion tool is an analytical, plug-and-play model usable as part of an SDN controller to provide more insights into different routing paths based on the future usage of each router. A Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural Network (LSTM-RNN) model in the suggestion tool analyzes the historical usage data of a router to predict its future usage. A Deep Boltzmann Machine (DBM) model in the suggestion tool recommends a routing path within the SDN-based network upon analysis of the LSTM-RNN based predicted future usages of routers/switches in the network.

  • Patent number: 11039364
Abstract: Methods and apparatus allow a mobile device to proactively switch to a new network by using quality of connection information and the rate of change of the received signal strength indication (RSSI) to proactively switch from a first network, such as a WiFi network, to the new network, such as another WiFi network or a cellular network. For example, the mobile device determines a rate of change of the RSSI for the first network. Based on the rate of change of the RSSI, the mobile device predicts when the RSSI of the network is beyond a quality threshold. Based on the prediction, the mobile device switches from the first network to a second network. In another example, the method and device uses a quality of connection of the first network connection to determine when to switch from a first network connection to a second network connection.

  • Patent number: 10986644
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for beam management in wireless communication systems. In some examples, beam angle information (e.g., angles of arrival/departure) may be utilized to select one or more serving downlink beams for communication between a scheduling entity and a scheduled entity. The beam angle information may further be utilized to facilitate additional operations within a backhaul network, such as wireless node locating, obstacle locating, system mapping within the network topology, beam determination and beam sweeping configuration, and mobility management among wireless nodes of a backhaul network. In other examples, aperiodic uplink beam measurements may be triggered based on downlink beam measurement reports and/or in response to a request from a scheduled entity. The scheduling entity may then jointly select uplink and downlink beams based on both the received downlink beam measurement report and uplink beam measurements.

  • Patent number: 10979402
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems, methods, and products comprising a computing device, which provides Efficient Data-In-Transit Protection Techniques for Handheld Devices (EDITH) to protect data-in-transit. An end user device (EUD) may generate a multicast data packet. The EDITH module of the EUD encapsulates the data packet in a GRE packet and directs the GRE packet to a unicast destination address of an EDITH Multicast Router included in an infrastructure. The EDITH module on the EUD double compresses and double encrypts the GRE packet. The EDITH module on the infrastructure decrypts and decompresses the double compressed and double encrypted GRE packet to recreate the GRE packet. The EDITH module on the infrastructure decapsulates the GRE packet to derive the original multicast data packet, and distributes the original multicast data packet to the multiple group member based on the multicast destination address included in the original multicast data packet.

  • Patent number: 10931588
Abstract: Distributed machine learning systems and other distributed computing systems are improved by embedding compute logic at the network switch level to perform collective actions, such as reduction operations, on gradients or other data processed by the nodes of the system. The switch is configured to recognize data units that carry data associated with a collective action that needs to be performed by the distributed system, referred to herein as “compute data,” and process that data using a compute subsystem within the switch. The compute subsystem includes a compute engine that is configured to perform various operations on the compute data, such as “reduction” operations, and forward the results back to the compute nodes. The reduction operations may include, for instance, summation, averaging, bitwise operations, and so forth. In this manner, the network switch may take over some or all of the processing of the distributed system during the collective phase.

  • Patent number: 10932245
Abstract: A method of wireless communication of a UE is provided. The UE determines resources of a first PDSCH and resources of second at least one PDSCH on a cell, the first PDSCH being a unicast PDSCH specific to the UE. The UE determines that the first PDSCH overlaps with the second at least one PDSCH in a time domain. The UE determines whether the second at least one PDSCH is another unicast PDSCH specific to the UE. When the second at least one PDSCH is not another unicast PDSCH specific to the UE, a duration required for decoding the first PDSCH meets a duration threshold, and the cell is in a first frequency range, the UE (a) refrains from decoding the first PDSCH independently of a transport block size of the second at least one PDSCH or (b) determines a transport block size of the second at least one PDSCH.
