Abstract: A reentry transitional housing system for providing access to housing and social services and methods for making and utilizing the same. The reentry transitional housing system can include at least one refuge room for providing living quarters to a recently-released individual. In selected embodiments, each refuge room can be equipped with one or more furniture components, such as a bed, a desk, and storage space. A folding panel and a sliding door can be flat-packed inside the refuge room and can be assembled to create a unique enclosure. Advantageously, a plurality of the refuge rooms can be deployed in a clustered configuration within a predetermined space with each refuge room being adapted to meet customized personal preferences of the individual. In addition to providing living quarters, the reentry transitional housing system optionally can provide a workforce development opportunity in both digital and physical fabrication.

Abstract: A baluster stabilizer and method of installing a stabilized baluster between a floor and a rail. The stabilizer includes a planar base and a transverse projection(s). The base has a transverse primary opening therethrough configured and arranged for press fit insertion of an end of a baluster therethrough. The projection(s) extend in a first transverse direction from the lower major surface of the base proximate each of at least three sides of the primary opening for extension into a drilled hole into which the end of the baluster is to be inserted. The projection(s) are configured to allow unimpeded insertion of an end of a baluster from the upper major surface through the primary orifice and past the projections.

Abstract: A panel and panel system for wall cladding is disclosed. The panel comprises an exterior face; and a reveal face, comprising: a top reveal plane extending at a top edge of the exterior face; and a side reveal plane extending at a side edge of the exterior face, the side reveal plane having a top alignment tab at a top end of the side reveal plane and a bottom alignment tab at a bottom end of the side reveal plane, the exterior face elevated from the reveal face. The panel further comprises a top protrusion extending from the top reveal plane; and a bottom protrusion extending at a bottom edge of the exterior face.

Abstract: A hanger for attaching a structural beam to a building substructure has a first panel spaced from a second panel with a web extending therebetween. The web includes a bias member or compression member for biasing a beam upward. The web may include an opening through the bias member for receipt of a fastener driven from underneath the web into a beam received by the web, whereby driving of the fastener into the beam pulls the beam downward against the bias of the compression member. Additional versions exist with different leveraging surfaces to assist the fastener in pulling the beam downward. The hanger may also include one or more openings in the side panels, each opening associating with an opening in a rear panel to receive a fastener driven obliquely through a side panel opening into a beam and a building support member to attach the beam.

Abstract: An automated storage and retrieval system includes a framework structure constructed of a plurality of upright members connected by horizontal members to define a storage grid of storage columns, within which storage columns may be stacked a plurality of storage containers. The framework structure has a rail system arranged at the upper level of the framework structure, with parallel rails in a first direction and parallel rails in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, upon which rails a plurality of wheeled container handling vehicles travel. The container handling vehicles are equipped with a gripping and lifting device for removing storage containers from the storage columns and replacing the storage containers in the storage columns. The upright members of the framework structure have corner sections directed towards an interior of a particular storage column. The corner sections include two vertically elongated, perpendicular corner guiding plates.

Abstract: A modular configurable multi-purpose system is provided. The system comprises at least one unit that has at least one room. The units are configured into at least one section, and arranged end to end or as called for in the application. A support section, having at least one support unit, may be provided for providing space for working, storage and other services for those working in the system. The system may be configured in numerous combinations to adapt to the immediate needs of the situation, and installed indoors and in the external environment. A method of operation of the system is provided.

Abstract: A weight-bearing system for hanging items from the roof structure of a metal building is disclosed. The system includes a purlin with at least one flange, a span aperture in the vertical span of the purlin, a clip that attaches to the purlin using the span aperture, and a fastener on the clip for transferring weight applied to the fastener to the clip and to the vertical span of said purlin.

Abstract: A bracket includes a first wing, a second wing and a bridge that connects the first wing to the second wing. The first wing has a first inner surface and a first outer surface. The second wing has a second inner surface and a second outer surface. The bridge extends from the first inner surface to the second inner surface thereby coupling the first wing to the second wing such that the first inner surface is normal to a first direction, and the first inner surface is parallel to the second inner surface. The bridge includes a front edge and a rear edge. Abstract: A steel-structure building envelope includes a building body, floor slabs, and external walls. The building body has H beams and decks. The decks are assembled onto the H beams. The floor slabs have RC slabs laid on the decks. The external walls each have an RC curb formed on the RC slab by means of casting, two steel C profiles, one of which is installed on the RC curb with an opening thereof facing upward, and the other of which is mounted on the deck with an opening thereof facing downward; and an outer wall panel and an inner wall panel, attached to opposite sides of the RC curb and the two steel C profiles, respectively, so that a hollow space is formed between the outer wall panel and the inner wall panel. Thereby the external walls have a two-layer structure and are affixed directly to the floor slabs.

The multi-purpose screed device is compatible with exterior walls with a rain screen disposed outside a weather-resistant barrier layer. The multi-purpose screed device may use a foundation weep screed, overhang soffit screed, and soffit ventilation.

At least one linkage assembly is operably connected between the body and the movable wall section for operably and movably supporting the movable wall section relative to the body for movement of the movable wall section to and between its retracted and extended positions. The at least one linkage assembly includes: (i) an inner link including opposite inner and outer ends; and (ii) an outer link including opposite inner and outer ends, wherein: the inner end of the inner link is pivotally connected to the body; the said outer end of the outer link is pivotally connected to the movable wall section; and, the outer end of the inner link is pivotally connected to the inner end of the outer link. A linkage assembly for such a movable wall section is also provided.

Abstract: A privacy enclosure that includes a floor plate, a ceiling assembly, and a sidewall that collectively define an interior cavity. The sidewall may have a laminate structure. The floor plate has a bottom surface and a top surface each with channels therein. The ceiling assembly includes a ceiling plate having a bottom surface with a channel therein. Portions of the sidewall may be positioned within the channel in the ceiling plate and the channel in the top surface of the floor plate. A door may be coupled to the ceiling assembly and to the floor plate. Specifically, the ceiling assembly may include a track member having a track therein and a follower member of the door may ride along the track to alter the door between open and closed states. A bracket member coupled to the door may slide within the channel in the bottom surface of the floor plate.
