  • Patent number: 10715673
Abstract: Apparatus and methods concerning routing of calls in an IPBX are disclosed. As an example, one apparatus includes an IPBX server configured to route VoIP calls for a plurality of end-users having respective VoIP-enabled devices communicatively coupled to the IPBX via a network. A user-activity detection circuit is communicatively coupled to the IPBX server. The user-activity detection circuit is configured to receive activity data indicating activity of end-users in a virtual office environment and receive event messages indicating statuses of pending calls in the IPBX server. The user-activity detection circuit determines user-activity statuses of the end-users based on received activity data and event messages. A computing server is communicatively coupled to the user-activity detection circuit and is configured to provide a set of services for one or more of the plurality of users as a function of the determined user-activity statuses of the end-user.

  • Patent number: 10701685
Abstract: Cyclic prefix based OFDM (CP-OFDM) signals can be filtered using a digital filter whose filter length exceeds the length of a cyclic prefix in CP-OFDM symbols of the signal. In one example, the duration of the filtered CP-OFDM symbol may be expressed by the following equation: M=N+L?1, where M is the duration of the filtered CP-OFDM signal, N is a duration of the CP-OFDM signal, and L is the filter length of the digital filter. Digitally filtering the CP-OFDM signal may include convolving a filtering signal with the CP-OFDM signal. The digital filter may include a finite impulse response (FIR) filter or an infinite impulse response (IIR) filter. In some embodiments, a different digital filter may be applied to each sub-band of the CP-OFDM signal.

  • Patent number: 10701683
Abstract: A communications system is described in which user devices are allocated sub-carriers on which to transmit uplink data to a base station. ACK/NACK messages for the data transmitted on the uplink are then transmitted by the base station on sub-carriers that depend on the sub-carriers used to carry the uplink data. A direct mapping function is preferably used to determine the sub-carriers to be used for the ACK/NACK messages from the uplink sub-carriers. In another embodiment, the ACK/NACK messages are transmitted to the user devices on sub-carriers that are previously identified to the user devices, preferably by transmitting one or more index values to the user device in a control channel thereof.

  • Patent number: 10680899
Abstract: A wireless network can perform a topological mapping through its gateway, which sends a multicast message over the wireless network to every node of a network. Each of the nodes on the network, on receipt of the multicast message, can transmit a one-hop multicast message containing a topological ping to its neighboring nodes. A neighboring node receiving a topological ping will store information relating to the link quality between the sender and neighboring nodes. After network traffic related to the topology discovery has quieted, the neighboring nodes sends the stored information to the gateway, without any processing by the node which sent the topological ping. All nodes may also implement a randomized delay both before sending the topological ping, and/or before sending the stored information to the gateway, to minimize the opportunity for data collision of messages relating to topological discovery.

  • Patent number: 10681621
Abstract: A NarrowBand Internet of Things (NB-IoT) device can find a connection to an NB-IoT cell by searching for an available NB-IoT carrier. An available NB-IoT carrier can be found by scanning through frequencies associated with a plurality of channel numbers on a predefined NB-IoT channel list, the plurality of channel numbers being associated with a plurality of NB-IoT carriers offered by one or more base stations. The NB-IoT carriers are frequency bands within a larger spectrum band associated with a telecommunications provider. The NB-IoT device can camp on a particular NB-IoT carrier when the particular NB-IoT carrier has an available physical resource block (PRB).

  • Patent number: 10588035
Abstract: Coverage and usage-based limitations to a wireless communications network can be estimated by monitoring network performance during a periods in which the network is relatively busy and relatively non-busy. For example, differences in distributions of bit error rates for calls in such time periods can be used to assess whether network limitations are associated with reduced-coverage zones or are usage-based. Such estimates can be used to target specific network features that limit network performance.
