  • Patent number: 5148624
Abstract: An improved mousetrap is provided featuring a handle that is remote from the trapping mechanism so that the mousetrap may be set for use without endangering one's hands or fingers. The mousetrap includes a cover that serves a fourfold function of protecting humans from the trapping mechanism, shielding captured animals from sight, defining a single deadly pathway for an animal to advance upon bait on the mousetrap, and providing decorative indicia. The handle protrudes from the cover which encloses a spring-biased jaw frame, trigger, and catch member of the mousetrap. The jaw frame is pivotally mounted to a base such that the jaw frame pivots between a cocked position, whereat the catch member retains the jaw frame in an orientation perpendicular to the base, and a shut position. Movement of the trigger by an animal causes the catch member to release the jaw frame so that the mousetrap snaps shut.

  • Patent number: 5147086
Abstract: A process for preparation of capsule for use in isostatic pressing treatment, the process comprising a first step of enclosing a material to be treated, such as ceramic, metal, resin, etc. with metallic foil having a thickness of from 30 to 300 .mu.m, and a second step of welding the metallic foil so as to seal the material to be treated in the metallic foil thus welded, thereby preparing a capsule, wherein the welding is carried out by means of TIG welding. Alternatively, the welding may be carried out by means of seam resistance welding. It is posible, by the process, to seal the material to be treated in a capsule easily and economically. The capsule thus obtained is in a good sealed condition, permits effective isostatic pressing treatment, and enables the treated material to be taken out easily. A ceramic or metal layer covers the material to be treated to prevent adhesion between the material and the metallic foil.

  • Patent number: 5142812
Abstract: A fish attracting device has a straight main shaft ending in a curved portion on one end and a hinged connection to a shorter shaft on the other end. The shorter shaft rotates about the hinge in a plane offset from the plane of the curved portion to induce rotation of the device when pulled through the water by the curved portion end. A fishing lure can be attached to the end of the shorter shaft, and the magnitude of the rotation of the device is a function of the angular setting of the shorter shaft.

  • Patent number: 5138791
Abstract: A fishhook extractor having an handle at one end and a shaft or blade with a fishhook engagement means at the other end is described. The blade curves downwardly and has a V-shaped cross-section. The apex of the V has a central groove and the V and central groove terminate in a smoothly integrated central notch at the blade end. The user positions the central V groove of the fishhook extractor against the tightened line and slides the tool towards the throat of the hook. Forward pressure with the extractor against the throat of the hook causes the barb of the hook to point in a direction which is close to the original angle of hook entry. The user then pushes the engaged tool to extract the embedded hook.

  • Patent number: 5135153
Abstract: An improved solder removal device having means for automatically recocking the device after each use. A piston is slidably movable within a barrel and normally urged upward by a spring. The piston shaft projects upwardly from the piston and has a toothed area extending along one side which is engaged to a movable gear. The movable gear is mounted on a gear shaft which rotates in a bearing mounted to the shaft of a solenoid. A motor is mounted within the barrel and is operable, through suitable gearing to rotate the movable gear, thereby moving the piston shaft. The piston shaft also carries a pair of studs actuated by a trigger slide engageable with an arm of a switch to control actuation of the solenoid and motor. Upward movement of the piston creates a vacuum at the nozzle which removes excess molten solder. Electricity can be supplied from either a line source or a battery.

  • Patent number: 5127180
Abstract: A camouflage device for archery bows includes mounting blocks adapted to being affixed to the bow in spaced relationship. The mounting blocks define first and second sets of sockets adapted to receive a proximal end portion of a tubular support arm so as to establish an extended condition (wherein the arms are oriented generally transverse to the long axis of the bow), and a collapsed condition (wherein the arms are oriented in general alignment with the bow's long axis). A camouflage curtain is supported by and extends between the upper and lower ones of the support arms so as to provide a blind for the archer, but yet allow the archer to track game targets, for example. An elastic cord joins the pair of arms so as to bias the proximal ends thereof into positive seated relationship with a respective socket.

  • Patent number: 5118029
Abstract: A paste-like composition containing a lead salt of an organic acid and tin powder is applied on a pad array portion of a circuit board. Then, the paste-like compsition is heated so as to cause precipitation, thereby forming a solder layer formed of a Sn-Pb alloy substantially only on the pads. This precipitation is performed in a state that a liquid pool is formed on the pad array portion when the paste-like composition is liquefied by heating, and the tin powder is settled in the liquid pool. When an electronic part is mounted on the pads, first, preparatory solder layers are formed on the pads by the above-mentioned precipitation process. After a paste-like composition is applied on the preparatory solder layers, the electronic part is put on the paste-like composition. Then, the paste-like composition is heated, thereby soldering leads of the electronic part to the pads.
