  • Patent number: 5117574
Abstract: A fishing lure is set forth as a tube organization that mimics movement and swimming of an eel as it is supported from a moving boat in a trolling procedure. The organization is defined by at least a plurality of tubes that are secured together by a swivel to effect a twisting to mimic motion of an eel in swimming. Swivel connections are utilized for securement of fishing line and mounted between various components of the organization in use.

  • Patent number: 5113616
Abstract: An easy connect and disconnect two piece fishhook structure is provided with the hook portion having a stem shank with an annular cold formed or machined depression adjacent its free end. The other portion of the two piece fishhook structure is a spring connect member with two opposite side extensions from a coil spring loop that also serves as the fish line tie on loop. One of the two opposite side extensions is a mounting spring reaction force anchor end with a tightly coiled end that is an open sliding fit on the hook shank. The other extension is a spring arm from the coil spring loop with an end hook stem engaging hook "V" that is resiliently deflected inwardly to permit passage of the hook stem therethrough and resilient coil spring force engagement against the annular depression in the stem shank when so positioned with release by the hand.

  • Patent number: 5109624
Abstract: An automatic fishing device for suspension from tree limbs, stumps and other supports or objects and automatically hooking fish. In a preferred embodiment the automatic fishing device is characterized by a frame having an inverted T-shape and an arcuate length of tubing mounted in the frame, with both ends of the tubing terminating in spaced relationship in the base support member of the frame. An operating line is slidably disposed in the tubing and a hook is secured to one end of the operating line and a weight to the other end. A slotted trigger is mounted on the tubing support adjacent to the end of the tubing which receives the hook segment of the operating line. When the hook is baited and disposed beneath the surface of the water, the weight is raised above the surface of the water or in the water in spaced relationship with respect to the hook segment of the operating line and the hook segment is inserted in the trigger slot to set the automatic fishing device.

  • Patent number: 5099597
Abstract: The present invention features a sportsman's fishing net apparatus having a shaft for thrusting the net into the moving current for the purpose of snaring a hooked fish. The net is framed upon a tubular ring-like member disposed on a distal end of the shaft. A flotation device keeps the upper part of the tubular member afloat in the water. The flotation device allows the net to maintain the same position with respect to the surface of the water, despite the induced wave motions. The shaft of the net apparatus is slidable within a collar. The collar is mountable upon trunnions attached to a bracket affixed to the side of the boat. The trunnions allow the shaft to rotate about the bracket affixed to the side of the boat, thus allowing movement with the wave motions. In one embodiment of the apparatus, the shaft is articulated in a mid-portion thereof, for the purpose of drawing the net out of the water without slidably withdrawing the net or detaching the shaft collar from its swivel mounting.

  • Patent number: 5097620
Abstract: A fishing lure especially adapted for trolling type fishing is disclosed. The lure comprises a generally cylindrical body, a skirt, and chum-dispensing means for dispensing chum through the body. The lure body face and body are so designed as to cause the lure to pitch, roll and yaw as it is pulled through the water, thus emulating a sick or injured fish. The lure thus appeals to the fish's sense of sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch.

  • Patent number: 5098008
Abstract: A method of mounting an integrated circuit carrier (10) having a plurality of straight leads (12) retained by an integral frame (16) is provided. The plurality of straight leads (12) of the carrier (10) is bent to form a plurality of bent leads (12) still retained by the frame (16). The plurality of bent leads are then scored to form a notch (32) on each bent lead. Solder fluxing, placing, and reflowing the plurality of bent leads of the integrated circuit carrier against corresponding printed lines of the printed circuit (26) surface before each notch follow. Finally, a remainder portion of the plurality of leads from and including the frame (16) to the notch (32) on each lead (12) is removed.

  • Patent number: 5092510
Abstract: The method and apparatus of the present invention may be utilized to support a selected mounting point on a circuit board during the mounting an electronic component. An integrated circuit device is selected and positioned adjacent a first side of a circuit board at a desired mounting point utilizing a robotic manipulator and a placement head. A support fixture is then urged into temporary contact with a second side of the circuit board utilizing a flexible mounting system such that minor variations or misalignments between the plane of the support fixture, the circuit board and the placement head are eliminated. In one embodiment of the present invention a flexible fluid filled bag is utilized in conjunction with the support fixture so that the presence of components on the second side of the circuit board may be accommodated while supporting the circuit board during component mounting.

  • Patent number: 5090151
Abstract: A fishing lure in which the hook and body separate when a strike occurs. A body has a slot extending therethrough with a shoulder located along the slot. The hook has an elongate shank with a projection therein which normally engages the shoulder but upon a strike allows the body and hook to separate with the body sliding up the line.In another embodiment, the lure body defines an internal slot or cavity which houses a hook frame having opposite arms which releasably engage the slot and release the body when a fish is caught. The hook frame may be a solid element or comprise opposite spring-like arms.

  • Patent number: 5088226
Abstract: A fishing lure has a stream-lined elongated body generally simulating a fish. The body has a head and a tail and the tail is thin and curved to one side when the lure is in an upright position. Except for the curved tail, the lure is symmetrical about a vertical plane through a center of said body. There are two movable lateral fins located near the head, one lateral fin extending outward from each side of the body. The lateral fins are pivotally mounted at a forward edge thereof so that a rear edge of each lateral fin can rotate upward or downward relative to the forward edge. Upper and lower lugs limit the degree of rotation. In addition, there are two stationary rear fins located between the lateral fins and the tail, there being one rear fin extending from either side of the body. The lure has suitable hooks and two suspension points for attaching a fishing line.

  • Patent number: 5085363
Abstract: A method of repairing a section of a metallic cylindrical member, such as a turbine shaft, having surface defects and a keyway thereon, by machining the surface to a depth less than the depth of the keyway and inserting a half key in the keyway, and machining the combination to provide a continuous surface for welding. A weld material is then deposited over the continuous surface formed to a thickness which provides a diameter greater than the initial diameter of the shaft. The weld material is machined to give a member having the initial diameter and the key member is removed to provide a repaired member having a keyway therein.
