Abstract: Apparatus and methods for generating automated time entries utilizing automated time capture. In an exemplary method, a duration of a communication session between a timekeeper operating a first communication device and a client operating a second communication device is determined in response to a termination of the communication session. The duration is determined by automated time capture without further input from the timekeeper. An automated time entry is generated upon termination of the communication session. The automated time entry identifies the timekeeper, the client, a date of the communication session, and the duration. A list of automated time entries is generated for review by the timekeeper. The list of automated time entries is provided to the timekeeper on one or more computing devices that includes the first communication device.

In certain aspects, the card reader is integrated into a case for enclosing the mobile electronic device and configured for reading financial information from a payment card to facilitate a financial transaction between a buyer and a merchant. To facilitate operability of the card reader, the case can include multiple card slots, such as a swipe-slot (e.g., for receiving a magnetic stripe payment card), and a dip-slot (e.g., for use in receiving an IC type payment card).

Abstract: A transaction authentication system authenticates a transaction by determining whether a mobile device and POS device involved in the transaction are at the same location. A POS registry stores location data for POS devices. A PAN registry stores mobile device IDs corresponding to account numbers. A mobile device ID can be provided from the PAN registry in response to receiving an account number from a POS device. The mobile device ID can then be used to retrieve location information from a home location register maintained by a mobile service provider. The retrieved location data for a POS device and the retrieved location data for a mobile device are compared.

Abstract: Described are a system, method, and computer program product for real-time payment gateway event monitoring. The method includes receiving input data from a merchant system including an application URL associated with a merchant control interface having a web socket programmed and/or configured to persistently listen for HTTP POST messages, and an event of a payment gateway system. The method also includes monitoring ongoing events of the payment gateway system associated with ongoing transaction messages communicated from point-of-sale (POS) devices to the payment gateway system and detecting the event in the ongoing events. The method further includes, in response to detection of the event, generating a HTTP POST message including event data of the event, and communicating the HTTP POST message to the application URL to cause the merchant control interface to display the event data in a chart for visual representation of the event data.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for retailers to monitor and track customer interaction with a product in a retail environment. The system of the present invention utilizes RFID tagged products and communicating with near field communication in an Internet of Things environment for a more comprehensive relationship between customers and the products of interest. Where the products are not so connected, the system of the present invention alerts the need for same.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a reading device includes a communication interface for communication with a commodity registration device. A commodity reader of the reading device reads commodity information from a commodity and the commodity information can be used for identifying the commodity. An output device signals that the commodity reader has read commodity information. A controller causes the communication interface to transmit the commodity information read by commodity reader, initialize the communication interface when it is determined that transmission of the commodity information has failed, and signal a communication failure when transmission of the commodity information has failed.
