Abstract: When moving the guide bar on a chain saw in order to adjust the chain tension, the following procedure is applied. Through the guide bar runs a shaft (19) having a slot for a screw driver as well as a shape of a cog-wheel (18) on the inside of the guide bar. The hole in the guide bar is the ordinary hole for a tension pin. The cover (11) above the clutch also keeps the guide bar in place and has an oval opening (23) providing accessibility to the above shaft in all its positions. Inside the guide bar, in the saw body, there is a suitable oblong cavity (16) to make room for the cog-wheel part of the shaft. That cavity has on its lower edge the form of a straight toothed section (17) adapted to the cog-wheel part.
Abstract: A blade assembly for electric hair clippers includes a stationary blade having a plurality of teeth arranged in a row, and a reciprocating blade having a plurality of teeth which complement the stationary blade teeth. A cam eccentric which is turned by a shaft attached to a motor moves the reciprocating blade in a back-and-forth motion through a set operating stroke, determined by the lateral distance the cam moves during its rotation. A guide bar maintains the reciprocating blade in a blade guide parallel to the stationary blade throughout the operating stroke, but not through the maximum stroke the blade can travel when the head assembly is removed from the handle for cleaning or other servicing. Anti-lock ribs or an anti-lock bar are provided on the blade guides to engage the guide bar throughout the maximum stroke distance, thereby maintaining the reciprocating blade parallel to the stationary blade throughout the maximum stroke.
Abstract: The present invention is an eating utensil for the physically disabled. The invention comprises a handle, a shaft and an eating utensil head. The handle functions as both a grasping means and a base means. The handle comprises a vertical cylinder for grasping and a flat bottom surface adapted to rest upon a flat surface such as a table. This flat bottom surface enables the eating utensil to remain upright on the table so that the eating utensil may be easily grasped and picked up. In addition, the utensil head may be modified to increase the surface area available for the food and to increase stability of the food on the eating utensil. The new and improved eating utensil is capable of being used with individuals with a variety of disabilities, particularly those individuals with limited wrist movement.
Abstract: A chain saw guide bar assembly includes opposing outer laminates in spaced relation as defined by a wire structure lying generally about the periphery of the laminates, but spaced inwardly of the edge boundary thereof whereby a saw chain groove formation results as defined by an exposed or outward facing portion of the wire structure and exposed portions of the inner surfaces of the outer laminates. The wire structure advantageously provides, in combination with the outer laminates, a containment cavity for a foam-adhesive core laminate which expands upon curing to fill the cavity and to adhere to the inner surfaces of the outer laminates. A very rigid yet lightweight chain saw bar results with less production complexity and cost relative to that of other core laminate chain saw bars.
Abstract: An adjustable spiral slitter for hot dogs which includes a pair of generally semi-cylindrical or semi-circular members hingedly connected at one end and adjustably connected at the other end with the adjustably connected ends being separable to enable the semi-circular members to be pivoted between an open and closed position. One of the semi-circular members includes a serrated blade mounted therein with the serrated edge of the blade being oriented in an inclined relation to the center axis of the semi-circular members when they are in closed position. The semi-circular members, when in closed position, form an annular member with the blade edge generally parelling and spaced laterally from a diameter of the annular member extending between the pivotal connection and the adjustable connection between the two semi-circular members.
Abstract: A hand-held tool is provided for scoring and severing an optical fiber. An elongate, generally hollow body has a longitudinal axis extending lengthwise thereof and defines a graspable handle for the tool. A plunger is reciprocally mounted in the hollow body for movement in a path generally in the direction of the longitudinal axis. An optical fiber is supported at one end of the body transverse to the longitudinal axis, and a deflector places the optical fiber under tension. A scoring probe is operatively associated with the plunger and movable therewith towards the fiber for scoring and severing the fiber extending across the path of movement of the scoring probe. An actuator lever is pivotally mounted on the body, operatively associated with the plunger, with a finger depressible portion exposed exteriorly of the body, for manual actuation while grasping the body to move the plunger and scoring probe towards the tensioned optical fiber.

Abstract: A disposable razor comprising a blade holder, a blade in the blade holder, a handle connected to the blade holder and a blade cover. In order to indicate the number of times the blade has been used, tabs are integrally formed on the handle, blade holder or the blade cover and bendable about a pivot line from a first position indicating non-use to a second position indicating one use and indicia associated with each tab.
Abstract: A demolition tool for attachment to the boom structure and hydraulic system of a hydraulic excavator having a pair of jaws pivotally connected together as to be mountable on the frame of the tool by a movable pin so that the jaws may be placed with other jaws having other forms of demolition characteristics. The jaws may be a shear for steel or other structural material, including concrete, and the jaws may be a concrete crusher, a rock or coral breaker, a wood shear, a plate shear, or other form of demolition device. Both jaws are swingable and independently swingable, operated by a common manifold supplying hydraulic fluid to the cylinders. The jaws swing through operational arcs and are arranged so that the direction of thrust from the cylinders is tangential to the pin connecting the cylinders to the jaws at a location intermediate the ends of the operational arcs.
Abstract: Folding knife apparatus includes a blade having a tang secured to a case or housing. Wedging action between the tang and the case locks the blade open and closed. The tang includes a longitudinally extending slot, and the case or housing includes a pin extending through the longitudinally extending slot. A spring is disposed in the slot and biases the blade against the pin to help lock the blade in place, particularly in the open, use position. Axial movement of the blade is required to unlock the blade from its open position in order to pivot the blade. A cam relationship exists between a portion of the tang and a portion of the case or housing to urge the blade to the closed position.
Abstract: A tool apparatus for applying a large closing force to an object is disclosed. The tool apparatus, capable of improving the efficiency and ease of effort required to crimp nuts onto bolts and to cut materials such as multi-strand cables, bars and the like, comprises first and second jaws, each having first and second portions. Each first portion has a linking end. A mechanism is provided for interconnecting the first and second jaws, and for providing a pivoting point for each of the first and second jaws. A hydraulic cylinder drives a rod linearly along a drive axis from a first position to a second position with a drive force.
Abstract: An improved scroll saw blade holder includes a one-piece body having a base and a pair of arms which extend transversely from the base and define an open area therebetween.
