Abstract: The invention relates to a screw top comprising essentially two elements formed by a skirt and a sealing ring connected together in a number of places by means of small cross-elements which can be broken when unscrewing the top, characterised in that of said two elements, either the skirt (2) or the sealing ring (3) comprises prolongations (8-10) which extend sufficiently far towards and beyond the opposite element so as to prevent any deformation of the sealing ring (3) in the radial direction of the top.

Abstract: A child resistant VCR cover comprises a cover plate having ribs for locating the cover within the video cassette door, a pair of cams which lock the cover in place, grips for rotating the cams, and springs for biasing the cams against the cover plate. The cover is installed by pushing and turning simultaneously the two grips. Each cam has a bevelled surface and acts in a screwlike fashion to engage the interior surface of the VCR frontplate, thereby locking the cover in place. To release the cover, the grips are pushed and rotated until the cams no longer engage the interior side of the VCR frontplate.

Abstract: Total and immediate closure device which can be fitted on various containers, in particular bottles, tubes and jars, whether rigid or flexible, includes a hood (10) made of an elastic deformable material which can be fitted on the mouth (21) of a container (2). Hood (10) is pierced axially with an opening (11) into which there is tightly inserted a cylindrical body (22) an end of which is located inside of the container (2) penetrating into the opening (21) thereof and is rigidly fastened to the inner part (24) of said container (2) so as to provide a space along the outside of body (22) for the passage of the contents (23) from the said container (2).

Abstract: A multi-tiered display for holding and displaying a plurality of items. The display comprises at least two stackable interlocking canisters. Each canister has a substantially similar construction and comprises a bottom surface and a top surface. The bottom surface includes in a preferred embodiment, a first, second, and third projecting member each of which extends along a width of the bottom surface. The top surface includes a fourth, fifth, and sixth projecting member that extends along a width of the top surface. The bottom surface further includes a first, second, and third space for receiving the fourth, fifth, and sixth projecting members. The top surface includes a fourth and fifth space for receiving the second and third projecting members. Due to the structure of the canisters, the canisters when stacked are interlocked at three locations.

Abstract: The invention relates to a closure device of an orifice bounded by a neck especially for sealing the orifice of a container for chemical, petroleum or analogous products. This device comprises a cover capable of being fixed to the neck by rotation about an axis in a first direction, the cover comprising a base and locking means to prevent inadvertent removal of the cover, said device having locking means comprising an element rotatably mobile in relation to the cover, the rotatable element having on the one hand, interlock means for connecting this element onto the neck in an interlocked manner, these means being adapted to cooperate with complementary interlock means provided on the neck of the element and, on the other hand, means for clamping the rotatable element in relation to the cover.

Abstract: An insect-proof and tamper-evident cover is disclosed for a disposable, metal, one-time use beverage container. A lid, nonrotatably secured to the upper end of the beverage container, includes an opening with bars formed there-across, and with a plurality of cover-supporting bumps and a position-controlling groove. A rotatable cover is secured to said lid in a fluid-tight arrangement. The cover includes an opening with bars there-across, at least one finger-engaging member, a tamper-evident indicator, and a projection arranged to travel in the position-controlling groove of the lid.

Abstract: An open topped container (1) for liquids such as paint, which container is provided with a pivotally mounted carrying handle(5), wherein the handle is pivotally mounted substantially off-center with respect to the container body (2), whereby when a user holds the container suspended by the handle (5), at least a major part of the open top of the container (1) is unobstructed by the presence of the handle (5) and the user's hand. A wide pouring channel (9) is provided located so that any paint left on the channel (9) after pouring drains back into the container (1) as the container (1) is subsequently held by the handle (5) in readiness for painting.

Abstract: A multiple-dome, scored rupture disc presents opposing first and second disc faces, and is provided with a circular, central region and a flat annular flange surrounding the central region. An arcuate line of weakness is formed in the disc circumscribing the central area except for a portion of the circumference of the central area defining a hinge about which the central region pivots upon rupture. The central region is divided by a diametrical ridge into two side-by-side semicircular halves within which the disc is bulged to form a plurality of separate concavo-convex bulges in the body.

Abstract: A stackable plastic container, manufactured as one piece in a blow molding process and designed for transporting hazardous liquids has a parallelepipedal form with rounded corners and edges. The container is provided with a U-shaped protruding stacking surface with two legs, whereby the legs in the direction are sloped toward the front wall in a downward direction toward the upper corners of the lateral edges of the front wall to a point below the shoulder of the filling and pouring socket arranged at the front wall and from there in an upward slope toward the shoulder of the socket.

Abstract: A trash receptacle including a vent means mounted in the bottom therefore for eliminating the formation of a vacuum when a filled flexible trash bag liner is removed from the receptacle. The air vent holes are placed superiorly in a central vertical stalk. The base has one or more air channels that allow air ingress and egress from the outside atmosphere to the raised central stalk area. The central vertical vent stalk has a dome shaped roof with an overhang to channel spilled liquids away from the air vent holes onto a sloping floor which in turn diverts the liquid to the outer corners of the inner receptacle base.

Abstract: A container system for recycling beverage cans and the like is provided, which consists of a plurality of containers, each having an upper flange and a contoured vertical inner surface, so as to permit the stacking of discarded beverage cans and the like one upon the other in side by side relationships and a stand for supporting each container by the upper flange one directly next to the other so as to take up minimum room in an orderly fashion. An inner disposable liner can than be removed with the discarded beverage cans contained therein while simultaneously preventing any remnants contained in any can from soiling the surrounding and appropriately sent to a proper recycling collection point.

Abstract: Box or case for a lighter or the like has a hinge the hinge including a flat tenon integral with one of the parts and engaging into a slot provided on the other part, the tenon being equipped with pins interacting with identations formed laterally on the slot and opening towards the inside of the case.

Abstract: A paint or similar can adapted to retain its lid in fluid tight condition against mechanical or pressure disturbances. The can has a ring element secured to the top of its sidewall and a lid assembled onto the ring element. Rubber or other sealant can be disposed between the ring element and lid to form one or more continuous seals between the ring element and lid. A metallic overcap having a debossment is placed over the lid. Stretchable adhesive tape is adherently applied to the overcap and the sidewall to hold the overcap down tightly against the lid with the debossment pressing against the lid to prevent the lid from backing off from the ring element and breaking the seal. The overcap has a circular central opening to uncover most of the top portion of said lid to allow the top portion of said lid to swell upwardly upon an increase of pressure within the can without dislodging the overcap. The debossment is at an intermediate position between the central opening and the outer periphery of the overcap.

Abstract: A ring assembly for compressed gas cylinders includes either a separate adaptor removably attachable to existing gas cylinders or, a ring member integral with the top portion of manufactured cylinders. In any case, a ring plate provides a horizontal, radially disposed lift plate that serves to allow lifting, transporting and storage of the cylinders. In the adaptor version, the ring plate surrounds a collar having upper and lower portions respectively provided with external and internal threads. The lower portion threads engage with the existing external threads on the top portion of gas cylinders and which normally provide for attachment of the required safety cap while the upper portion threads duplicate the cylinder threads and thus enable attachment of the protector cap thereto. Manipulation or hanging of a cylinder equipped with the ring adaptor may be by manual grasping of the ring plate or by insertion of lift hooks into holes formed in the ring plate or by placing lift forks beneath the plate.

Abstract: A painter's box or artist's sketch box has a removable lid, a reversible palette, movable partitions enabling the changing of the compartments of the box, a detachably mounted brush holder, a detachably mounted charcoal holder, and support legs that support the box when its lid is closed and which relieve stress on the hinges that interconnect the main body of the box and the lid when the lid is fully open. The hinges are of the pull-apart slip hinge type and include pins of differing lengths to facilitate reattachment of the lid to the main body of the box, and a groove is centered along the parting line of the lid and the main body to accommodate the hinge barrels to further facilitate alignment of the lid and the main body of the box. A thumb hole formed in the palette enables it to be held easily when separated from the box and provides an access opening for a jar of mineral spirits when the palette is not held.

Abstract: An inviolable cap for a flask which provides proof when tampered with. The cap has an interconnecting wall in a region where the body and the band of the cap adjoin one another. The wall includes a plurality of cut segments aligned in a circular fashion thereabout separated by a plurality of transverse interruptions, with one of the interruptions being at least twice as long as any of the cut segments and the rest of the transverse interruptions being substantially shorter than any of the cut segments. The band further includes a vertical cut with vertical interruptions. A projection on the band fits about a collar on the flask. When the cap is unscrewed, the shorter transverse and the vertical interruptions sever.

Abstract: New and improved article carriers are provided in carrier bodies including an integral shaped thermoplastic molded three-dimensional graphical display panel to provide distinctive physical appearance and shock-absorbing protective characteristics in use. In accordance with the preferred embodiment, new and improved book bag backpack carriers are provided having the outwardly f acing rear panel and bottom panel formed from the shaped three-dimensional graphical display panels.

Abstract: The cap is for use in closing the end of an opening as may be provided in a container. The cap has an elastomeric top which is deflectable by a presser plate urged toward the top and opening by a biasing spring. Deflection of the elastomeric top enables the cap to seat and adjust around the opening and accommodate variances therein.

Abstract: In accordance with the invention, a fish tank is provided with an internally extending flange that circumscribes the top opening of the tank. A cover, having a screened opening, rests on the top of the tank and includes on its undersurface a locking mechanism which, by rotation of a removable key, engages the flange and prevents removal of the cover.

Abstract: A tamper evident container assembly includes an open-ended container body having a bottom wall and peripheral side wall, the side wall having an upper rim protruding radially outwardly of the peripheral side wall. A reusable lid has a top wall and a portion of which is tucked under the upper rim to thereby lock the lid to the container body. The depending skirt is further provided in a lower portion thereof with an annular line of weakening extending about the skirt portion to thereby define an annular tear strip inclusive of the free end so that upon removal of the tear strip, the lid may be removed from said container. A related method of assembling a tamper evident container assembly the steps of:a) filling the container body with contents;b) applying the lid to the container body; andc) tucking a substantial portion of the lower free edge under the rim to thereby provide a tamper evident container.
