Abstract: An electronic card connector includes a connector portion having a header retaining a plurality of first contact elements therein. Each first contact element has a first end extending beyond a first face of the header for engaging with an electronic card and a second end extending beyond a second face of the header. A mounting portion includes a housing defining a plurality of passageways between third and fourth faces thereof for receiving and retaining second contact elements therein. The second ends of the first contact elements are inserted into the passageways of the mounting portion from the third face thereof for electrically engaging with the corresponding second contact elements. A slot is defined in the fourth face of the mounting portion for receiving a circuit board. The slot is in communication with the passageways whereby the second contact elements are partially extended into the slot for electrically engaging with the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6159057
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrical connector of the blade and contact type in which the contact has a tuning fork shape. The tuning fork includes a first tine and a second tine which are spaced apart and are initially parallel to each other. The first and second tines form an elongated slot therebetween. An adjustable tensioner includes an elastic member mounted exterially of one of the tines and a set screw which extends through the elastic member and one of the tines and is engaged with the other of the tines. By adjusting the set screw, the second of the tines is biased in a direction towards the first of the tines and the spacing between the first and second tines is reduced. In this manner, the contact pressure and spacing can be adjusted so that when the blade is inserted into the slot formed by the tines, the frictional resistance can be adjusted. The blade can either be vertically or longitudinally inserted into the slot.

  • Patent number: 6155865
Abstract: An insulation displacement contact terminal has a pair of side walls, an a pair of pressure contact blades that are mutually opposing and formed by partial bending away from the side walls. When an insulated wire is inserted between the pressure contact blades along a first direction, edges of the pressure contact blades bite into the insulation of the insulated wire so as to make contact with the inner core wire of the insulated wire. The pressure contact blades each have a curved part that is continuous from the side walls, and each curved part has a radius of curvature such that when the pressure contact blades are bent from the side walls and when a pulling force is applied to the insulated wire in a second direction that intersects with the first direction, concentration of bending stress acting on the pressure contact blades is relieved.

  • Patent number: 6155874
Abstract: Terminals of a solenoid valve which come into contact with an electrode portion of a circuit body are formed in a curved shape so as to generate a biasing force. A lock member to be inserted into a mounting hole of the circuit body projects from a bottom face of the solenoid valve. By turning the solenoid valve with the lock member being inserted into the mounting hole, the lock member engages with the mounting hole by receiving the biasing force. Thus, the solenoid valve can be mounted easily. The terminals are in elastic contact with the electrode portion thereby a reliability of connection being enhanced.
