  • Patent number: 6164988
Abstract: An adapter with an adapter housing, which can be fixed in place on the bus bars of a bus bar system and which receives terminal contacts, which can be connected in an electrically conducting manner with the bus bars. An equipment holder for fastening electrical installation equipment can be connected in various positions with the adapter housing. The equipment holder has holding elements and the adapter housing has receiving elements for the holding elements of the equipment holder. Continuous adjustability between the equipment holder and the adapter housing is achieved because the holding elements of the equipment holder are designed as support strips, which can be inserted into receiving elements of the adapter housing which are embodied as receiving grooves, or as edge strips, and which are continuously displaceable along and fixable within the receiving elements.

  • Patent number: 6162085
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly for a tractor-trailer jumper cable has an outer connector housing with an internal block of terminal cavities that is recessed to provide cylindrical sockets in each end of the outer connector housing. Each cavity receives a lead terminal and a lead seal attached to an end of one of the insulated leads of the jumper cable. A terminal position assurance (TPA) device having an integral clam shell strain relief is plugged into the socket at the cable end of the outer connector housing to make sure that the lead terminals and lead seals are properly positioned and to provide a strain relief for the cable. A disposable transition connector is plugged into the socket at the contact end of the outer connector body to seal the contact end and protect the cable terminals against corrosion.

  • Patent number: 6162062
Abstract: An improvement of the structure of a telephone connector is disclosed. The connector is formed by engaging a rotary head with a fixing plug. The fixing plug is installed with a plurality of round disks with conductive rings of different radii and each conductive ring contacts with the contact terminal in the plug body. A plurality of through holes are installed within the rotary head. Each through hole is installed with a metal rolling ball, or a body formed by a metal roller ball, an engaging piece and a spring so to contact with the contact terminal within rotary head. Thereby, when the connector is assembled in the telephone receiver or the receptacle receiver so that the telephone cable causes the rotary head to rotate, by the low resisting friction of the rolling ball, not only the rotary head can rotate actively and smoothly with respect to the fixing plug so that the telephone cable will not be intricate, but also the conductive rings will not be destroyed or vibrate.

  • Patent number: 6162103
Abstract: A reflex bend in a notched elongated plate member forms a compact terminal structure of a connector without requiring soldering, caulking, or crimping. This contact connects to a connecting pin in a three point contact structure. Two contact points are made by a groove near the terminus of the connecting pin that fits into a slot in the contact. A reflex bend in the contact provides resilient force to the bottom of the connecting pin, thereby forming the third contact point. This connector structure is especially useful for small electric contact where insufficient space is available for mechanical and electrical connections.

  • Patent number: 6162089
Abstract: Stacked LAN connector (10) adapted for mounting to a circuit board (24) and including a stacked USB component (150) and a modular jack component (200) secured in respective portions of main housing (50), around which is an outer shield (32). An inner shield (130) shields the arrays of contacts of the modular jack component (200) and the stacked USB component (150) as they depend from the board mounting face to be connected to circuits of the circuit board (24). LEDs (28,30) indicate full mating by a modular plug with the modular jack component. The connector saves board real estate otherwise occupied by a modular jack positioned beside a stacked USB connector on the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6162079
Abstract: The present invention provides a front mounting socket for a gas light tube that can be mounted and removed from a sign substrate without requiring access to the rear portion of a sign enclosure. The front mounting socket is installed and removed from the sign surface substrate by turning two diametrically positioned screw members which are a part of the retaining clips. Each retaining clip comprises a retainer member and a screw member supported in a screw groove formed in the socket body and the retainer member defining a retaining surface that engages the sign surface substrate when the operator tightens each screw member until the retainer member abuts the sign substrate, thereby interposing the sign substrate between each retainer member and the retaining surface of the mounting surface which secures the socket to the sign.

  • Patent number: 6159042
Abstract: A battery connector for connecting a battery to supply electrical power to an electrical apparatus incorporating the connector comprises a housing and a number of contacts fixedly mounted in the housing. Each contact has a substantially identical structure. The contacts are mounted in grooves defined in the housing having different depths, whereby tail portions of the contacts are spaced different distances from a front face of the housing for proximity to the battery. Thus, when the connector is mounted to a printed circuit board by extending the tail portions of the contacts into holes defined in the printed circuit board, the tail portions of the contacts which are located closer to the front face of the housing fixedly engage with front edges of the corresponding holes and the tail portions of the other contacts fixedly engage with rear edges of the other holes.

  • Patent number: 6159019
Abstract: A waterproof sheet is adhered on an inner surface of a door panel. A wire harness W is arranged on the waterproof sheet on the door panel. A first connector is connected to the wire harness. The first connector is held at a predetermined position on the door panel. A door trim is mounted to the door panel and covers the inner surface arranging the wire harness. A switch unit is mounted to the door trim. A second connector capable of fitting to the first connector is connected to the switch unit. When the switch unit is mounted to the door trim fixed to the door panel, the second connector is guided by a guide member on the door panel so as to fit to the first connector at a predetermined position. Accordingly, the connector can be easily fitted. Further, a poor connection and a disconnection of the wire harness can be securely prevented.
