Patent number: 6959909Abstract: A handle assembly mountable on a valve is disclosed. The assembly includes a head having a receptacle engageable with a rotatable shaft on the valve and a grip projecting outwardly from the head to facilitate turning of the head for actuating the valve. An arcuate slot is positioned in the head, the slot having a curvature matched to the arcuate motion of the handle when used to turn the valve shaft. A limit post is attached to the valve and projects through the slot. A jam nut is mounted on the post adjacent to the head. When tightened against the head the jam nut fixes the position of the head relatively to the valve. A bolt is positioned within the slot and retained by a nut. The bolt is movable along the slot to a predetermined position where it can be temporarily fixed by tightening the nut. The bolt acts as a memory stop when it engages the limit post as the head is turned.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2004Date of Patent: November 1, 2005Assignee: Victaulic Company of AmericaInventors: Philip W. Patent number: 6957801Abstract: A valve assembly includes a fully-integrated actuator assembly. The actuator assembly includes, within a single housing assembly, a torque source, a position sensor, a gear train, and an output shaft. The torque source is adapted to receive one or more position control signals and, in response, to supplies a drive force. The position sensor is coupled to receive the drive force and, in response, supplies a signal representative of valve position. The output shaft is coupled to receive the drive force from the torque source, and thereby selectively moves the valve, upon receipt of the drive force, between the open and closed positions.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2003Date of Patent: October 25, 2005Assignee: Honeywell International, Inc.Inventors: Russell D. Patent number: 6957672Abstract: A method suitable for use in small trade stores or retail shops for assisting in providing the correct color or coating compositions mixed in the store or shop in which colorants (II) are added to a base paint (2), the base paint (2) being provided in a lidded container (I). The base paint (2) is pre dispensed in a lidded container (I), thereby avoiding the need to weigh it accurately in store thus saving time. Further time is saved by adding the colorants simultaneously to the base paint (2). The actual load (usually the combined weight of the can and the contents) is compared to the correct load stored in a database and the operator is alerted if the two fail to match.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2004Date of Patent: October 25, 2005Assignee: Imperial Chemical Industries plcInventors: Celia Charlotte Taylor, Ian David Oakes

Patent number: 6957798Abstract: This invention provides a pinch valve having a pinch region defined by a pair of rotating pinch elements. These pinch elements define a variable profile that substantially surrounds the entire circumference of a tube in the pinch region and that thereby ensures that the tube is always returned to the desired opening size at all valve adjustment settings in a range from fully open to fully closed. More particularly, the pinch elements are provided with a pinch region that defines a surface geometry that includes a continuously variable-length (ramping) linear segment, disposed at a continuously variable depth (ramping from full open to fully pinched), that pinches the walls into a pair of opposed parallel lines throughout the majority of their rotational movement/adjustment range.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2004Date of Patent: October 25, 2005Inventor: Edward A.
