  • Patent number: 11691351
Abstract: A system and method for bonding a first layer of material to a second layer of material includes a first electrically conductive plate, a second electrically conductive plate spaced apart from the first electrically conductive plate. The second electrically conductive plate is electrically grounded. A high frequency generator in electrical communication with the first electrically conductive plate supplies high frequency electrical signals to the first electrically conductive plate. An adhesive applied to one of the first and second layers of material has an electromagnetic susceptor material that when subjected to the electric field heats the adhesive to an adhesive curing temperature to bond the first layer of material to the second layer of material. A clamping mechanism applies pressure to one of the first and second layers of material to maintain contact between the first and second layers until an adhesive cure time has lapsed.

  • Patent number: 11685127
Abstract: A bonded object manufacturing apparatus is for manufacturing a bonded object in which a first object and a second object, which is more flexible than the first object, are bonded by a bonding agent, viscosity of which is variable, and includes: a bonding agent supplier that supplies the bonding agent to a first or second bonding surfaces; a thickening unit that increases the viscosity of the bonding agent; and a loading unit that applies a load to and deforms the second object against the bonding agent that closely adheres to the first bonding surface and becomes harder than the second object. In a method for manufacturing a bonded object, the first and second bonding surfaces are brought close to each other to hold the bonding agent therebetween, the bonding agent closely adheres to a required portion of the first bonding surface, and the second object is loaded and deformed against the bonding agent that closely adheres to the first bonding surface and is harder than the second object.

  • Patent number: 11679561
Abstract: According to some aspects, techniques are provided for identifying contamination in additive fabrication devices by measuring light interacting with the contamination using one or more light sensors. Contamination located between a light source and a target of a light source can affect the uniformity and intensity of the light source when incident upon the target. For instance, in an inverse stereolithography device, contamination located between a light source and a liquid photopolymer resin that is to be cured can affect the quality of the fabricated object when the light is scattered or blocked by the contamination. Identifying the presence of contamination between the light source and the liquid photopolymer resin and alerting the user prior to initiating a fabrication process may increase the quality of the resulting fabricated object and improve the user experience by saving time and photocurable liquid.

  • Patent number: 11667077
Abstract: For increasing the speed in 3D printing, for avoiding the conveying elements slipping from the conveyed semi-finished product, and for improving the transmission of force from the conveying elements to the semi-finished products to be conveyed, a conveying installation is provided for an additive manufacturing machine. The conveying installation for conveying a semi-finished product comprises a longitudinal conveying mechanism which by means of a periodic movement of at least one conveying element conveys the semi-finished product along a conveying direction which is parallel to the semi-finished product longitudinal axis. The conveying element when moving in the conveying direction acquires the semi-finished product, and when moving counter to the conveying direction is released from the semi-finished product. This results in a movement of the semi-finished product in the conveying direction.
