  • Patent number: 6358330
Abstract: An apparatus for washing mud, dirt and silt from the tires of a truck leaving a construction site includes a water supply line, a collection basin and a grate positioned over the collection basin. The apparatus further includes an optional side rail attached to the collection basin above the grate and an optional drainage system comprising a plurality of drain ports formed in the collection basin. Preferably, water from an external water source flows through the water supply line to a selector valve in fluid communication with the grate and the side rail. The grate comprises a plurality of spray tubes having a plurality of spray ports formed therein and the side rail comprises at least one side rail spray tube having a plurality of side rail spray ports formed therein. The selector valve may be positioned to permit water to flow only to the grate, to the grate and the side rail, or only to the side rail.

  • Patent number: 6354310
Abstract: Apparatus for stripping ceramic coatings from the surfaces of articles. The apparatus includes a dedicated pressure vessel, such as an autoclave, which is maintained at an elevated temperature. Caustic solution is preheated to a first elevated temperature before injecting it into the autoclave, and the caustic solution is filtered and cooled after use in the autoclave. The articles are stripped of coating by maintaining the articles at an elevated temperature and pressure for a predetermined time. Various options include the use of analytical equipment to maintain the chemistry of the caustic solution and use of a volatile organic solution to prepressurize the autoclave and shorten cycle time. The autoclave is maintained in a nitrogen chamber to minimize the risks associated with volatile components.

  • Patent number: 6354311
Abstract: A deionized water temperature control part cools deionized water which is supplied from a deionized water supply source into a processing bath through a pipe after completely cleaning a substrate in the processing bath for maintaining the deionized water at a constant temperature which is lower than the ordinary temperature. A supply port of an IPA.N2 supply part provided in a casing of a multi-functional processing part is directed upward, thereby supplying IPA vapor upward with carrier gas of N2 for forming an atmosphere containing IPA vapor in high concentration above the processing bath. Thus, the substrate cooled to a low temperature is dried in the atmosphere containing the IPA vapor of the ordinary temperature in the upper portion of the processing bath when pulled up from the processing bath. Thus, the amount of the IPA vapor dissolved in the deionized water stored in the processing bath may be small, whereby consumption of the IPA vapor as well as generation of particles can be suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6349731
Abstract: A water inlet assembly for mounting adjacent an opening provided in a tub of an automatic dishwasher wherein the tub defines a cavity having a volume for washing dishes. The water inlet assembly includes a housing forming a venting chamber and having an outlet opening mounted in sealed relationship about the opening provided in the tub. The venting chamber has a vent opening which may be located above the outlet opening. The housing further includes an inlet nozzle for receiving wash liquid and a conduit for guiding liquid from the inlet nozzle to the venting chamber from which wash liquid can flow through the outlet opening into the tub. A water trap is formed into the housing and is located along the conduit. The conduit has a siphon opening located upstream of the water trap.

  • Patent number: 6349730
Abstract: A food washing apparatus comprising a means for generating a sheet-like water jet stream that impinges against foods such as marine products including edible jellyfish, seaweed, shucked or shell-covered shellfish and the like, farm products including vegetables, fruits, and the like by conveying the foods through a water jet stream distribution area or food wash area. A plurality of sheet-like water jet stream layers are generated at a predetermined angle from various directions and impinge against the food surfaces so as to wash them and remove foreign matter such as insects, mud, pebbles, fish scales, etc. from the foods.

  • Patent number: 6343493
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an improved system for mounting and aligning, in a manner that is both accurate and precise, an array of tubes used for delivering relatively small quantities of air or other fluids in various applications, as, for example, in patterning systems in which a stream of a patterning fluid such as a liquid dye is deflected from a trajectory by the impingement of a stream of a control fluid such as air.

  • Patent number: 6327730
Abstract: An adjustable liquid temperature control system for a washing machine regulates the temperature of washing liquid established in a washing tub in an accurate and economical manner without the use of a dedicated temperature sensor. Preferably, numerous default mixing ratios for hot and cold fill water are preset in the washing machine. The system is designed to enable the washing machine operator to adjust one or more of the default mixing ratios in order to selectively fine tune the system. In accordance with one embodiment, the operator can directly input a desired mixing ratio. In another embodiment, the operator can indirectly establish a mixing ratio by entering a desired washing temperature.
