  • Patent number: 10541842
Abstract: A process and/or apparatus capable of facilitating network communication via a directly accessible network interface controller (“NIC”) in a virtualized environment is disclosed. The process, in some embodiments, is able to receive a packet stream traveling from a virtual machine (“VM”) to a direct-access configured NIC (“DCN”). After forwarding from an embedded switch (“eSwitch”) of the DCN to a virtual switch (“vSwitch”) residing in a hypervisor or VM monitor in accordance with at least a portion of content of the packet stream, a processed packet stream is generated by the hypervisor in response to the packet stream. The processed packet stream is subsequently transmitted from the vSwitch to the eSwitch for facilitating the processed packet stream to reach its destination.

  • Patent number: 10542495
Abstract: The embodiments of the disclosure include methods and apparatus that allow dynamic configuration of discontinuous reception (DRX) mode based on conditions associated with device use. For example, a device may be operating in a first mode of DRX having short and long DRX cycles that provide a level of user experience that is balanced with a level of power conservation. During operation, changing conditions of device use may indicate that the first configuration of the DRX may be changed to a second configuration by removing the short DRX cycle to conserve power without affecting the user's experience. For example, a user may move out of proximity of the device and may not be affected by a slower speed of data downloading. Based on the changed conditions of device use, the DRX may be changed to operate in a second configuration that may download data slower but consumes less power.

  • Patent number: 10530657
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing virtual networking functionality for managed computer networks. In some situations, a user may configure or otherwise specify one or more virtual local area networks (“VLANs”) for a managed computer network being provided for the user, such as with each VLAN including multiple computing nodes of the managed computer network. Networking functionality corresponding to the specified VLAN(s) may then be provided in various manners, such as if the managed computer network itself is a distinct virtual computer network overlaid on one or more other computer networks, and communications between computing nodes of the managed virtual computer network are handled in accordance with the specified VLAN(s) of the managed virtual computer network by emulating functionality that would be provided by networking devices of the managed virtual computer network if they were physically present and configured to support the specified VLAN(s).

  • Patent number: 10530651
Abstract: A method is described that determines that a replacement node device has been connected to a mesh network, the replacement node device corresponding to an original node that has been removed from the mesh network. In response to determining that the replacement node device has been connected to the mesh network, network topology data is accessed that specifies one or more data routing configurations that are each associated with a node device included in the mesh network. From among the one or more data routing configurations specified by the network topology data, a particular data routing configuration is identified that is associated with the original node device that has been removed from the mesh network. Data that specifies the particular data routing configuration that is associated with the original node device that has been removed from the mesh network is provided to the replacement node device.

  • Patent number: 10524233
Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may assign resource elements of a particular resource block for transmission by two or more different antennas in a fashion such that the symbols are interleaved in frequency and/or in time, which improves frequency diversity of the two or more different antennas, thereby improving uplink performance of the UE. In some aspects, when the two or more resource blocks are contiguous, then each antenna may produce an interleaved frequency division multiple access (IFDMA) waveform, which may maintain peak to average power ratio (PAPR) properties of a single channel FDMA transmission. Thus, some techniques and apparatuses described herein may achieve transmit diversity and/or frequency diversity of a stream of symbols on two or more antennas without significantly increasing the PAPR of the stream of symbols.

  • Patent number: 10511503
Abstract: A server device includes a memory, a processor, and a transceiver. The memory stores information indicating a measurement device and information indicating a relay device in association with identification information of the terminal, the measurement device performing measurement to obtain measurement data, the relay device being able to relay the measurement data to the server device. The processor generates a report packet destined for a relay device, the report packet reporting a list of a measurement device that is a transmission source of measurement data to be relayed by the relay device. When the transceiver receives a request that the use of the services in the terminal be stopped, the processor generates a report packet destined for a relay device associated with the identification information of the terminal, the report packet including the list in which a measurement device associated with the identification information of the terminal is not included.

  • Patent number: 10511680
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to optimize bandwidth usage associated with a local network. As part of the bandwidth optimization techniques, a network regulation entity may maintain a plurality of usage statistics for a plurality of electronic devices. These usage statistics may be compared to an access profile to determine whether the local network is being used in a way anomalous with the access profile. If there is an anomalous usage condition present, the network regulation entity may generate a notification to inform a user of an electronic device as to the anomalous condition. Accordingly, when a user of the electronic device interacts with the notification, the electronic device may present an interface that enables the user to remedy the anomalous condition. Thus, because the remedial action is generated at the user's direction, compliance with network neutrality principles may be maintained.
