Abstract: Display data in a data graphical user interface (GUI) on a display device and display, by a processor, a control GUI on the display device representing the data. The control GUI includes a range defining visual element, corresponding to a data value, that is moveable via input received by the control GUI and defines two ranges of the data. The processor displays indicia associated with the range defining visual element indicating the corresponding data value. The processor receives input from the control GUI indicating the range defining visual element has been moved. In response, the processor visually emphasizes data in the data GUI having data values in a selected one of the defined data range.

Abstract: A user terminal apparatus includes an input receiver, an intersecting-image information obtaining unit and a divider. The input receiver receives input information relating to image-drawing and image-erasing. The intersecting-image information obtaining unit obtains image-drawing input information intersecting image-erasing input information as intersecting-image information when the input receiver receives image-erasing input information. The divider divides the intersecting-image information to erase a portion of the intersecting-image information contained in an erasing area computed from the image-erasing input information when the input information is image-erasing input information.

Abstract: Embodiments of a method and system for utilizing a configurable interface are disclosed. User information for a first user is accessed. The user information is reviewed to determine whether the user information includes a preselected configurable interface. The preselected configurable interface is provided based on the user information including the preselected configurable interface. Alternatively, based on the user information not including the preselected configurable interface, a configurable interface based on a user selection of the configurable interface from a plurality of available configurable interfaces is configured.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for enabling voice communications via a messaging application. The method comprises enabling an instant messaging (IM) presence status option to be selected; and blocking an incoming voice communication when the presence status option has been selected. A method and system are also provided comprising displaying a first instant message in an instant messaging conversation user interface comprising call status information; and displaying updated call status information in the instant messaging conversation user interface after determining whether an call attempt has been successful.

Abstract: A user interface for a messaging client application can include a message list. By executing various input operations on a representation of a message in the message list, the user can take an action on the message. For example, a user operating a pointing device can perform a drag operation on a representation of the message in the message list, and the action to be taken on the message can be indicated by the direction and distance of the drag. Visual feedback can be provided during the drag operation to indicate the action that will be taken if the user ends the drag at the current location.

Abstract: There are provided methods for searching at least one desired digital file on a user interface. The user interface may include a first section showing a first sorted listing of digital files and a second section showing a second sorted listing of groupings by which the digital files in the first sorted listing are grouped. The user interface may be on either a touch-screen display or a non touch-screen display.

Abstract: A system and method for sorting messages within an interface including providing a navigational menu with at least three menu options of at least three message collections, the menu options ordered according to an ordered horizontal virtual arrangement of a set of message collections; upon receiving user selection of one of the menu options, activating the message collection corresponding to the user selected menu option, which comprises—displaying the message collection of the selected menu option and virtually positioning the remaining set of message collections off screen; within the active message collection of the set of message collections, detecting a gesture swipe in a horizontal direction; selecting a sorting option corresponding to a message collection virtually positioned in the horizontal direction relative to the active message collection; and transferring the message to the message collection of the selected sorting option.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for graphical display of hierarchical hardlinks to files in a file system that includes identifying multiple hardlinks for a file, wherein a hardlink comprises a link to a file directly mapping the file into a namespace; displaying relationships among the multiple hardlinks and the file; and providing an option to modify the hardlinks to the file via a button, including: following a pointer from the file having multiple hardlinks to a list of hardlinks to the file by following a Master Hardlink Pointer which is contained in the file and provides a pointer to the hardlink list for the file.

Abstract: Methods and systems present commands to a user within a software application program by determining the user's context within the application program and automatically presenting in a user interface commands that pertain to the user's current context. When the user's context changes, the context-sensitive commands are automatically removed from the user interface. In one implementation context blocks and context panes are employed to present the commands.

Abstract: A system and method for managing to-do list task items provides a user interface having user interface elements for allowing the user to add one or more task items to a to-do list, for allowing the user to edit one or more fields associated with a task item added to the to-do list, and for allowing the user to designate a task item within the to-do list as completed whereupon the designated task item is placed into a completed list and removed from the to-do list. Within the system, a task item is defined by at least a title, a description, a due date, and a tag. The tags provide a means for the task items to be organized within lists as well as within the system to, for example, allow task items to be shared, searched on, and the like.

Abstract: In an embodiment, in response to a gesture by an administrator, a security palette is created and displayed on a multi-touch screen. In response to a move by the administrator of a first icon to within the security palette, wherein the first icon represents a first object, a same authority that the administrator has to the first object is granted to the security palette. In response to a collaborator touching the security palette, the same authority to the first object is granted to the collaborator.

Abstract: A method and device for reproducing contents of a mobile terminal having a touch screen, including: displaying on the touch screen a list of items corresponding to a plurality of contents stored in the mobile terminal; detecting a touch input to an item displayed in the list; displaying on the touch screen a reproduction screen display having a location and a size corresponding to a determined touch input location; and one of reproducing an entirety of a content corresponding to the touched item and reproducing only a portion of the content corresponding to the touched item in the reproduction screen display according to a detected touch type.

Abstract: Collaborating on documents by e-mail may be streamlined into a unified process. In one example, a user creates a document in an online document service, and sends the document to collaborators by mailing a link to the document. The document may have permissions set so that the creator of the document, and any user on the e-mail distribution list, can read and edit the document. When a user receives the e-mail, that user may open and edit the document. Upon closing the editing application, the user may be presented with an appropriate interface to create a reply e-mail.

Abstract: Configurations providing one or more group objects for extending the functionality of a group messaging application. Some example group objects provide functionality for location-sharing, games, events, calendar, photos, videos, money sending, video calling, audio calling, or a map view of one or more participants in a conversation. Each group object can provide contextual content including semantically relevant information with respect to the participants of the conversation. For instance, each conversation participant can modify the included group object(s) in the context of the conversation. A notification can then be provided to the conversation participants. By viewing the conversation in the group messaging application, contextual information from an included group object for the participants in the conversation can be provided.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention generally manage dynamically depicting interactions in a virtual world. Embodiments of the invention may receive one or more content restrictions associated with a first user of a virtual world, and may analyze the activity history of a second user in the virtual world. Embodiments of the invention may then determine what, if any, interactions should be permitted between the first user and the second user in the virtual world.

Abstract: A UI for presenting and reviewing a document is optimized based upon the type of computing device being utilized to present the document. One such UI includes a first pane showing a view of the document under review that is sized and formatted for display on a large-format display device. The first pane can also be utilized to emphasize a portion of the document. The UI also includes a second pane that includes indicators for each of the reviewers of the document. The selection of an indicator will cause a portion of the document being reviewed by the corresponding reviewer to be displayed in the first pane. The UI also includes a third pane that includes a scaled image of the document shown in the first pane. Selection of a portion of the scaled image causes the selected portion of the document to be displayed in the first pane.

Abstract: A method performed by a portable, processor-based device with a display screen is disclosed. The method includes rendering a Graphical User Interface (GUI) on the display screen. The GUI includes a first scrollable column with a plurality of graphical elements arranged sequentially within the first column, each graphical element of the plurality of graphical elements associated with at least one article of a plurality of articles. The GUI also includes a second scrollable column with a plurality of independent text portions, each of the text portions corresponding to a respective article. The method further includes coordinating the first and second scrollable columns so that when a first article is selected a first text portion associated with the first article is displayed on the display screen, and a first graphical element associated with the first article is displayed next to the first text portion.

Abstract: A system comprises a database configured to store a presentation, the presentation having a presentation identifier and comprising a sequence of discrete presentation items, a first discrete presentation item of the plurality being associated with first content with first content type and a second discrete presentation item of the sequence being associated with second content of a second content type. A presenter interface is configured to receive viewer identification information identifying a viewer to which the presentation is to be made accessible. An access controller is configured to create an access credential using both the presentation identifier and the viewer identification information, the access credential to enable access to the presentation by a viewer computer system. A tracker configured to generate access history data pertaining to access by the viewer computer system to each of the sequence of discrete presentation items.

Abstract: A system and method are described for storing and transmitting a sequence of presentations for display on a viewer's computer. A viewer interface is configured to receive a request to access the presentation and to transmit a script to the viewer's computer responsive to receipt of the request. An output module is configured to establish a state where a current presentation in the sequence is presented. The output module presents the first item to the viewer's computer in response to the request to receive the current item. The viewer interface is further configured to present the second item to the viewer's computer. The first presentation item corresponds to a first content of a first content type and the second presentation item corresponds to a second content of a second content type, the first content type being different from the second content type.
