  • Patent number: 9177371
Abstract: Interactive virtual inspection of modeled objects is provided. A graphic user interface facilitates interaction between a Data Visualization and Analysis application and the inspector. The Data Visualization and Analysis application acquires non-destructive examination data that is collected with reference to an industrial component under evaluation. The acquired non-destructive examination data is transformed into a visualization defined by a volumetric representation that is rendered on at least one display device as at least one view representative of the component under evaluation. The inspector may navigate the volumetric representation to investigate the integrity of the industrial component including non-surface conditions thereof.

  • Patent number: 9176659
Abstract: A method and apparatus which efficiently inputs characters through a touch screen in a mobile communication terminal is provided. The method, for inputting characters through a touch screen in a mobile communication terminal, includes displaying a virtual keyboard including a plurality of keyboard keys on the touch screen in response to a character input request, inputting an input signal through the touch screen; and inputting a corresponding character, if the input signal is a click signal. If the input signal is a drag signal, the virtual keyboard is moved. Therefore, the character input method and apparatus display a virtual keyboard that is greater than the touch screen and thus reduce the user character input errors.

  • Patent number: 9121750
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods to visualize measuring and dosing operations are described herein. In various embodiments, a computer user interface including a gauge bar, a progress bar, and a target value in combination with a weighing device may be used to measure and dose elements. In one embodiment the method ensures precise and fast dosing when weighing an element. In various embodiments, configuring a mapping function allows numerous combinations of a speed of progress of a progress bar when weighing an element. A progress bar, in combination with acceptable weight values, such as a target value, a primary minimum value, and a primary maximum value allows for color representation when a progress bar enters and exits acceptable weight values. Configuring a set or a plurality set of secondary minimum and maximum values is possible for additional acceptable weight values.

  • Patent number: 8863014
Abstract: A novel search interface embedded in the specification sheet of a product. By manipulating the specification sheet of the product the user may filter and refine the search results without having to type search queries and without having to return to the main search result page. The user may select one (or more) of the product characteristics listed in the specification sheet to activate as a search criterion. For example, if the user is viewing monitors and activates the LED backlight product characteristic as a search criterion, the search interface would perform a search to filter out plasma monitors, LCD monitors etc. The user may manipulate other data in the specification sheet including the priority of the activated product characteristics, the order in which the product characteristics are displayed in the specification sheet. The user may also set search filters for the parameters of the product characteristics.

  • Patent number: 8627223
Abstract: A system is provided for customized execution sequences for portions of third party applications. A customizing tool conducts discovery through application program interfaces to identify data associated with screens associated with third party applications. Each application program interface is associated with a corresponding third party application. The customizing tool also enables selection of a customized screen execution sequence based on the data and a portion of the screens. The customized screen execution sequence includes at least one screen corresponding to each third party application and excludes at least one default start screen associated with at least one of the third party applications. Additionally, the customizing tool stores the selection of the customized screen execution sequence as a customized application. Execution of the customized application outputs a customized result to a user interface. The customized result is based on execution of the customized screen execution sequence.

  • Patent number: 8543921
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide novel methods for editing the value of an attribute of a media item (e.g., a media content or a media operation) for a media editing application. Such attributes of a media item can include scale, rotation, opacity, pan, volume, etc. In some embodiments, a media editing application represents the changing value of such an attribute over a duration (e.g., a duration of time, a duration of frequencies, etc.) as a key-indexed geometry. A user of the media editing application can manipulate these geometries to change the attribute value over a duration. Such geometries may include graphs and shapes. For such applications, some embodiments provide novel compressed geometric representations (i.e., collapsed views) of one or more uncompressed key-indexed geometries (e.g., graphs or shapes).

  • Patent number: 8286081
Abstract: Some embodiment provide media editing applications that include libraries that (i) provide presets (i.e., predefined operations and/or predefined attribute values) for modifying key indices and interpolation between the key indices, and/or (ii) provide storage for storing presets defined by a user of the media editing application. Some embodiments display the presets as thumbnails, thumbnails with text descriptions, and/or text-defined operations. In addition, some embodiments provide user-interface tools that allow the user of the media editing application to augment the preset libraries by storing a selected part of one key-indexed geometry or parts of multiple different geometries as a user-defined preset.
