  • Patent number: 8963854
Abstract: A calling and display unit displays the image of a function calling icon (FCI) on at least one of the four corners of a screen of a touch panel. An icon calling unit calls function activation icons (FAI) in correspondence to a touch manipulation on the FCI. A function display unit displays the images of the called FAIs so as to be arranged on at least one of the four sides of the screen, which communicates with one of the four corners where the FCI is located. Therefore, the proportion in which the images of the displayed FAIs obstruct a display image displayed on the screen can be minimized. In this way, a data processing device minimizes the proportion in which the images of the FAIs displayed on the touch panel obstruct the display image.

  • Patent number: 8947363
Abstract: A keyboard includes an upper frame, a main body, a lower frame, and an adjustment mechanism. The two frames cooperate with each other to sandwich the main body. The lower frame includes a bottom plate defining a though hole. The adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust an inclined angle of the keyboard, and includes an adjustment member, a supporting member, a driving member and a position stopper. The adjustment member is operated by a user. The supporting member protrudes from the bottom plate via the through hole to support the keyboard on a supporting surface. The driving member drives the supporting member to move along a central axis of the through hole to adjust a protruding distance of the supporting member when the adjustment member is operated. The position stopper resists the supporting member to secure the supporting member when the adjustment member is free.

  • Patent number: 8917241
Abstract: An operating method of a display device includes controlling a shift of a cursor of a user interface reference frame according to a shift of the pointing device with reference to an initial point in a 3D spatial reference frame; and updating a position of the initial point in the 3D spatial reference frame according to an updating signal. An advantage of the present invention is when the operating range is changed, reference coordinates utilized by the pointing device are appropriately adjusted, so as to lower the affect of offset, allowing the pointing device to be applied in different areas/directions without having the cursor displayed on the display device to incorrectly reflect shift of the pointing device.

  • Patent number: 8902158
Abstract: A device-mounted infrared (IR) camera and a hybrid visible/IR light projector may be used to project visible animation sequences along with invisible (to the naked eye) tracking signals, (e.g. a near IR fiducial marker). A software (or firmware) platform (either on the handheld device or to which the device communicates) may track multiple, independent projected images in relation to one another using the tracking signals when projected in the near-IR spectrum. The resulting system allows a broad range of new interaction scenarios for multiple handheld projectors being used in any environment with adequate lighting conditions without requiring the environment to be instrumented in any way.
