Abstract: The invention relates to a fluid treating device for treatment of gasoline or diesel fuel for land and/or water vehicles. The liquid fuel treating device has an elongated housing provided with liquid fuel lines on opposite ends thereof. A central opening in the housing houses a metal bar which is formed with an alloy, the metal composition including copper, nickel, zinc, tin, magnesium and silicon. The liquid fuel is forced through the liquid fuel line into the housing, wherein it contracts the metal bar and exits through a second liquid fuel line as a treated liquid fuel with improved characteristics, substantially free of pollutants.
Abstract: A damping liquid for a hydraulic vibration-damping mount is composed of glycol, water and 2 to 20 weight % of age resistor having ozone resistance. The damping liquid gradually diffuses and infiltrates into a rubber member defining a liquid chamber of the hydraulic vibration-damping mount thereby remarkably improving the ozone resistance thereof.

Abstract: A liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of polyphosphate builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant. To improve stability against settling on standing, the composition contains also a small amount of an acidic organic phosphorus compound having an acidic -POH group, such as a partial ester of phosphoric acid and an alkanol.
Abstract: A method of stabilizing a diesel fuel formulation by substantially minimizing the oxidation thereof is disclosed. In particular, at least one amine containing copolymer is incorporated into the diesel fuel formulation in an amount sufficient to improve the storage stability and, also, substantially minimize the oxidation thereof. The method of this invention is particularly well suited for substantially minimizing the high temperature oxidation of diesel fuels.

Abstract: The technique of the instant invention includes the preparation of a new mechanical seal life prolonger (SLP) by the compounding of a relatively few, inexpensive, and readily available materials. The instant technique is simply and easily placed into practice by, for example, applying relatively small amounts of such compound to the outside edges or peripheral portions of the relative movement interface between the seal faces of mechanical seals in association with fluid handling devices while such devices are in an operating mode. Depending on the degree of disruption of the sealing surfaces, a single application of such compound is sometimes sufficient to obtain the desired results or it may be necessary to subsequently apply such compound to the leaking seal at regular intervals subsequent to the first application thereof, until such time as it may be convenient to replace such seal faces.
Abstract: The addition of certain mixed ligand metal complexes and a metal thiophosphate to a lubricating oil results in a significant improvement in the anti-wear performance of the oil. Tin dithiocarbamate-ethoxyethylxanthate and zinc dialkyldithiophosphate are preferred additives.
