Abstract: Methods and devices for selectively presenting a user interface or “desktop” across two devices are provided. More particularly, a unified desktop is presented across a device and a computer system that comprise a unified system. The unified desktop acts as a single user interface that presents data and receives user interaction in a seamless environment that emulates a personal computing environment. To function within the personal computing environment, the unified desktop includes a process for docking and undocking the device with the computer system. The unified desktop presents a new user interface to allow access to functions of the unified desktop.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an electronic device presents information about, and facilitates consumption of, content in a content delivery application, including utilizing content consumption activities of the user's friends to do so. In some embodiments, an electronic device facilitates presentation of a friends content mix corresponding to content selected based on content consumption activity of one or more friends of a user of the electronic device. In some embodiments, an electronic device facilitates presentation of a plurality of content items included in the friends content mix that includes a representation of a first content item of the plurality of content items displayed in association with a representation of a first friend, of the one or more friends of the user, that is associated with the first content item.

Abstract: In some examples, a system can identify a plurality of contacts associated with a user account on a collaborative content management system, the plurality of contacts being associated with user accounts on the collaborative content management system. The system can obtain activity data associated with the plurality of contacts, the activity data identifying content interaction events at the collaborative content management system. Based on the activity data, the system can identify a portion of the content interaction events associated with one or more content items accessible to the user account and provide, to a user interface on a client device associated with the user account, a contact activity feed identifying the portion of the content interaction events and respective contacts associated with the portion of the content interaction events.

Abstract: Computer systems and methods may display multi-dimensional data sets in a dynamically-generated ocular view, which may show the relationship between data points in the different dimensions. For example, such a data set may include in one dimension results of one or more laboratory tests and, in another dimension, body systems or functions that the respective tests may relate to. The ocular view may depict the relationships between the tests and the systems. By being generated dynamically, moreover, the ocular view may be able to present this information for arbitrary sets of test results, without a template having been generated in advance to specify the layout of some particular combination of results.

Abstract: System and methods for summarizing collaboration activity events into a plurality of pages that are then scored with respect to user-specific relevance that is based on a set of comprehensibility characteristic parameters. The collaboration activity events are summarized into groups of activities based on certain common attributes that are deemed to have quantitatively measurable relevance to the user. The groups of activities are assembled into a plurality of personalized candidate pages. The candidate summary pages are then scored using a function that includes parameters that serve to quantify how interesting or readable the particular user would find the particular candidate summary page. One or more of the higher scoring candidate summary pages are selected for presentation to the user.

Abstract: Provided herein are method, apparatus, and computer program products for facilitating a learning user interface. The interface may be presented as a plurality of dynamic icons representing a plurality of items. The plurality of dynamic icons may include at least one suggested dynamic icon representing at least one suggested item of the plurality of items and at least one secondary dynamic icon representing a secondary item of the plurality of items. The interface may be facilitated by determining, via a processor, a visual bias for the at least one suggested dynamic icon relative to the at least one secondary dynamic icon. The interface may be facilitated by applying the visual bias, via the interface, to the at least one suggested dynamic icon.

Abstract: An information display device includes an input interface that accepts an input manipulation including setting a starting location and a destination, and a processor that displays in a display area, an object and a manipulator for use to enter an instruction to change the display state of the object. The processor changes the display state in accordance with a vector to be defined by the distance and direction from the starting location to the destination. The processor performs a first type of processing in response to the input manipulation done on a region other than a region of the manipulator, and a second type of processing of changing the display state in response to the input manipulation done on the region of the manipulator. In the second type of processing, the display state of the object can be changed more finely than in the first type of processing.

Abstract: A user-centric management application system and method for a security system that conceptualizes the security devices and the tasks to perform on the security devices as separate objects with common properties and behavior. Operators of the system create abstract containers, called dockviews, which the operator adds objects to in order to perform specific tasks. Because the operator assigns user access to dockviews and objects, the system tailors system access for both application users and tenants of the security system based on policy objectives. Dockviews have the ability to open in separate application windows to support priority display and isolation of critical management tasks. The system provides integrated user administration, event management and reports capability, a consistent “look and feel,” and system-wide automated event notification via a watchlist window.

Abstract: Techniques directed to applying metadata to content items are described herein. The techniques may include displaying a graphical element associated with a metadata attribute(s) and displaying a visual representation for a content item(s). The graphical element may be associated with a group of content items that have a common metadata attribute. In some instances, the graphical element may be dragged and dropped onto the visual representation to associate the content item(s) with the metadata attribute(s). Abstract: Systems and techniques to provide access to shared content are disclosed. In various embodiments, a user input indicating a set of selected sharing users that have shared content with a viewing user is received via a filter definition user interface. A combined set of shared content comprising content that has been shared with the viewing user by one or more sharing users included in said set of selected sharing users is determined based at least in part on the indication. A display is provided that includes for at least a subset of shared content in the combined set a user-selectable visual representation of the shared content.

When an activity is to hibernate, its state is preserved on a storage medium such as a disk, so that the activity can later be revived in the same state and the user can continue with the same task that was being performed before the activity entered hibernation.

Abstract: A method implements data visualization collaboration. The method receives, from a first user, a first comment that refers to a data visualization. The comment includes text, a first thumbnail image of the data visualization, and a first visual specification to build the data visualization. The method displays, to a second user, an interface with a comment pane that displays the first comment text and the first thumbnail image. The method detects input from the second user to select the first thumbnail image. In response, the method generates and displays the data visualization. The method receives, from the second user, input modifying the data visualization, and input specifying a second comment that refers to the data visualization. In response, the method generates a second thumbnail image and a second visual specification corresponding to the modified data visualization, and transmits that information along with the second comment text to the first user.

A second number representing a number of completed items in the interface is determined. The first number and the second number are displayed, by the display device, in the interface. A status of a button in the interface is determined based on the first number and the second number. Attribute information of the button is obtained. A value of the attribute information is changed based on the second number and a predetermined rule. Changing the value of the attribute information can cause a change in the displayed appearance of the button.

Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems and machine-readable mediums which allow for more secure authentication attempts by implementing authentication systems with credentials that include interspersed noise symbols in positions determined by the user. These systems secure against eavesdroppers such as shoulder-surfers or man-in-the middle attacks as it is difficult for an eavesdropper to separate the noise symbols from legitimate credential symbols.
