  • Patent number: 10817143
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems and machine-readable mediums which allow for more secure authentication attempts by implementing authentication systems with credentials that include interspersed noise symbols in positions determined by the user. These systems secure against eavesdroppers such as shoulder-surfers or man-in-the middle attacks as it is difficult for an eavesdropper to separate the noise symbols from legitimate credential symbols.

  • Patent number: 10795526
Abstract: A website building system includes a determiner, a converter and an interface. The determiner determines an editable subset of the multiple components within a user selected portion. For each single page container component of the editable subset components, a converter dissolves the single page container component and merges components of the single page container component into a parent page. The converter converts the updated page-based hierarchy into a linear user interface. The converter also defines an ordered list of the editable subset components of a page associated with a linear menu. The interface presents both the page-based user interface and the linear user interface and enables editing content of the editable subset components in both the page-based and the linear user interfaces. The interface reflects changes from the editing in one user interface into the other user interface.

  • Patent number: 10735705
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying branded video tags. An advertiser provides additional content associated with broadcast advertising content to a service provider that downloads the additional content to a digital video recorder (DVR). The service provider inserts command tags into the content that are intercepted by the DVR and interpreted as commands that instruct the DVR to perform specific actions when the DVR receives the stream from a broadcaster. The DVR intercepts and translates any tags inserted into the content stream while the DVR is playing the content stream. Tags can cause the DVR to display a branded video tag to the user which is a displayed icon that requests an interaction by the user and has an advertiser's logo(s) displayed in its vicinity.

  • Patent number: 10715400
Abstract: A method of remotely controlling a device at a location is provided. A dataset is received from each of a plurality of different locations, comprising at least one data value of at least one monitorable device at the respective location. Based on the dataset, a user interface can be generated, comprising a primary interface element having plurality of matrix positions mapped to a surface of a sphere. In the user interface, an interactive object icon is displayed which is representative of a monitorable device positioned at the respective matrix position. A scale of each interactive object icon is indicative of the data value of the said monitorable device. After receiving a user input at an interactive object icon, a processor retrieves and displays the data value of a monitorable device associated with the interactive object icon, and a device is controlled at the location to perform a physical function.

  • Patent number: 10698591
Abstract: An adaptive layout and workflow engine. The adaptive layout and workflow engine allows various applications to dynamically render scaled views of content based on the characteristics of the display on the device being used to consume the content. The adaptive layout and workflow engine may select an appropriate view of the content to render based on the size, resolution, or aspect ratio of the display. The rendered size of the content and/or the user interface of the content application is evaluated relative to the characteristics of the display. Embodiments may provide different controls via the user interfaces based on the characteristics of the display and/or content. The adaptive layout and workflow engine may provide customized work flows via the user interface to improve the user experience depending on the display capabilities of the device used to consume the content.

  • Patent number: 10698485
Abstract: Haptic feedback for communication of relevant information is provided. Oftentimes when using content narration to read or author a document, it is desirable to notify the user of a presence of meta-information. Aspects of a haptic feedback system avoid adding data to an audio stream, and instead, use haptic feedback technology to communicate information about a presence and type of meta-information in relation to content being narrated. Device functionality can be improved by enabling communication of relevant information through non-auditory cues that are consumable by sight-impaired users. By employing haptic technologies as described herein, users are enabled to feel when certain meta-information is available, and are further enabled to interact with the meta-information to receive additional information associated with the meta-information.

  • Patent number: 10684736
Abstract: Defining a presentation format targetable to a demographic by distributing a questionnaire to a terminal connected to a distributed computer network for interactive presentation to a representative in order to elicit selections from the representative, obtaining selections in response to any such interaction, determining preferences based on the selections using code executing in a processor, including positive preferences concerning affirmative selections in response to the interaction with the questionnaire, negative preferences from un-preferred selections in response to the interaction with the questionnaire, or both. The determined preferences are transformed into an integrated passcode using the processor so as to be representative of the selections, the passcode being a representation of the determined preferences for use in defining the presentation format and is used to establish presentation parameters in a message that is delivered over the network to the demographic.
