Abstract: A skincare device includes a brushhead; a body including a motor assembly configured to oscillate the brushhead and an inertial measuring unit (IMU) configured to determine kinematic measurements of the device; a first optical encoder including a light source and an optical sensor configured to capture images; and processing circuitry configured to determine a location of the brushhead with respect to a body part of the user based on a combination of data measured from the IMU and the first optical encoder.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing negative pressure at a wound site. The apparatus includes a negative pressure reservoir and a reservoir valve for selectively connecting the reservoir to a wound chamber at a wound site. In particular, but not exclusively, the present invention relates to an apparatus including a source of negative pressure which acts as a negative pressure reservoir to continually or repeatedly “top up” an applied negative pressure so that negative pressure applied at a wound site can be maintained within desired limits for a relatively long period of time.
Abstract: A device configured for a vehicle for supporting and massaging a neck of a passenger is provided. The device is configured such that a neck support pad is integrally formed on a lower end portion of a headrest to hold up and support the neck of a passenger, and a massage device is mounted in the neck support pad to massage the neck of the passenger, thus stably supporting and massaging the neck of the passenger sitting on a seat.

Abstract: A device for treating chest wall injuries, including rib fractures, flail chest injuries or surgical incisions is described herein. The device includes a localized airtight compartment external to the chest wall and fully covering the area of injury, and is capable of varying the pressure within the compartment, and providing dynamic real-time counter forces that act reciprocal to the intrathoracic pressure changes that occur during ventilation. In a preferred embodiment, the device has the capability of sensing the patient's chest wall motion created by ventilation, and includes a pressure control component capable of varying the pressure within the airtight compartment such that it opposes pressure changes within the chest. The apparatus would be particularly useful in preventing the paradoxical movement of flail chest injuries. The device would also lessen pain experienced by patients with thoracic injuries such as rib fractures and post operative suffering.
