Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved applicator device for liquid and semi-liquid products. In particular, this invention relates to an improved applicator device for cosmetic products, such as mascara that eliminates the build-up and subsequent loss of product, resulting in reduced cost through use of a greater percentage of the product stored in the bottle. The improved applicator includes a handle, a shaft, and an applicator brush attached to the end of the shaft for insertion in a product container holding a liquid or semi-liquid product. Attached to the shaft is a sliding collar that is interconnected to a wiper. When the applicator is withdrawn from the product container, the collar is retracted, and this closes the wiper radially about the shaft of the applicator. Residue liquid remains on the inside wall of the container. When the applicator is partially inserted back into the container the collar is slidably moved downward on the shaft.

Abstract: The device of the present invention is a convertible ponytail holder/headband designed to remain secure during prolonged use and physical activities or when wet. The device includes a long strand of material and a bead with a through-bore. Both ends of the strand are threaded into the through-bore to form a closed loop. The positioning of the bead is adjustable, but remains secure once set due to friction and tension. For optimal friction and tension, the strand is formed of a seamless tubular material that while slightly elastic readily retains its shape. The diameter of the bead through-bore is approximately 0.6 times the width of the strand. In operation, the ponytail holder or headband is looped around a hair bundle or the wearer's head, respectively. To secure the device the bead is moved towards the loop and the loop is tightened.

Abstract: An improved dental floss and a manufacturing method thereof is disclosed, comprising a plurality of threads, preferably consisting of POY polyester filaments, which are texturized, twisted at a density ranging between 60 and 120 twists/meter, and entangled without adding binding agents.

The device may include a receptacle having a first face and at least one outlet orifice for dispensing a substance contained in the receptacle. The receptacle may be configured to be rested on a horizontal plane surface with the first face being in contact with the horizontal plane surface. The first face may be configured such that while the receptacle is rested on the horizontal plane surface with the first face being in contact with the horizontal plane surface, a decrease in the quantity of substance in the receptacle causes the receptacle to tilt without causing the substance to run out through said at least one outlet orifice.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cosmetology manicure spa bath for two hands, wherein the user's nails and hands receive pulsating, heated jets of liquid solution. The basin of the invention is disposed at a declining angle from the user. The receiving area in the invention for the two hands is disposed within the basin and is comprised of two depressions generally in the shape of a hand, with raised projections distributed within these two depressions for massaging the hands while keeping the hands from touching the bottom of these depressions. Features of the invention include at least one wrist rest, at least one built in nail brush, and a manicure implement receptacle.

Abstract: Provided is a floss dispenser comprises a housing defining at least a receiving chamber with a floss bobbin rotationally received therein. A floss fork is arranged at an end of the housing for bracing a section of floss thereon. A first tension-controlling device is arranged on the housing controlling a tension of the floss after the floss fork. And a tensioner is arranged adjacent to the feeding device controlling the tension between the floss bobbin and the floss fork. By the provision of the tensioner, the tension of the floss can be properly controlled during the flossing process, and the tension of the floss can be released after the flossing process.

Abstract: A comb for the hair including a body having a lengthwise axis (X). At least one first gap is defined between two teeth of a first pair of teeth, with this first gap having a first height. At least one second gap is defined between two teeth of a second pair of teeth, with this second gap having a second height lower than the first height. In a preferred form of the teeth defining the first and second gaps, only the teeth defining the second gap are arranged to hold a lock of hair between them. At least one of the teeth defining the second gap includes a projection extending into this second gap. In a preferred form, all of the teeth defining the first and second gaps are located on the same side of the body of the comb.

Abstract: A hair accessory is described which includes an elongated clip having at least two members, each having at least a user grasping portion, a hair engaging portion, and a transition portion therebetween. The hair engaging portions are configured to be adjacent one another along a longitudinal axis for substantially their entire length. The hair accessory further includes a plurality of hair segments attached to the elongated clip between the user grasping portion and the hair engaging portion. A method for fabricating the hair accessory is also described.

Abstract: A method for forming an artificial fingernail on a natural fingernail comprises the steps of preparing a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol solution; applying the solution on natural fingernail 2 to form an adhesive layer 3 thereon; putting artificial fingernail 4 on natural fingernail 2 through adhesive layer 3; and curing adhesive layer 3. Although fully cured, adhesive layer 3 can be dissolved and softened in water so that artificial fingernail 4 can easily be removed from natural fingernail 2 in a short time.

Abstract: The present invention provides a self-adhesive tip guide application device for applying tip guides during a French manicure. The present invention allows the user to use both hands in applying the guides to a nail. The device includes an elongated frame having a series of arms extending substantially perpendicularly away from the frame. Each arm contains at least one releasably secured arch-shaped tip guide. The frame also contains a releasably-secured release liner. When removed, the frame can be secured to any surface, thereby more easily allowing the user to apply the guides to the nail.

The holder can also support a light source which is positioned close enough to a subject's finger tip to illuminate the interior of the finger tip.
