Abstract: The invention is a mattress insert comprising supporting blocks (10, 12, 14) made of a foam material and arranged on a base body, said supporting blocks (10, 12, 14) are formed integrally with the base body, and said supporting blocks (10, 12, 14) comprise first supporting blocks (10) arranged with spacings from one another, and second supporting blocks (12, 14) arranged in the spacings, wherein a height of the second supporting blocks (12, 14) relative to the base body is lower than that of the first supporting blocks (10).

Abstract: A fitted sheet system can include a fitted sheet with top, head, foot, first side, and second side portions, such that the top portion is connected to each of the head portion, the foot portion, the first side portion, and the second side portion with the head portion positioned opposite the foot portion and the first side portion positioned opposite the second side portion so as to define a mattress receiving area. The system can include a breakaway strap system including a first breakaway strap extending from the first side portion to one of the head portion or the foot portion and configured to reconnectably detach in response to force pulling on the first breakaway strap. A sheet system can include the fitted sheet system and a second sheet having a fitted foot end and be configured to be attached to fasteners of the fitted sheet system.

An elevating bed assembly is provided that permits attaching a headboard and/or footboard to an elevating portion of a bed while maintaining the headboard and/or footboard in an upright position in contact with the floor. A leg mount system is provided that permits attaching a variety support legs having different shapes and sizes to a single frame without modifying the frame.

Abstract: One embodiment of a climate management topper includes a flowpath boundary which defines a flowpath adapted to carry a stream of fluid in a principal direction. A flow compliant filler occupies at least part of the flowpath. The filler includes a spacer and a set of shape change actuators (SCA's) each of which is made of a shape change material (SCM). The properties of the SCM include a critical temperature T0. The SCA's are configured to regulate distribution of the fluid stream through the flowpath in a direction transverse to the principal direction as a function of temperature. In one example the flowpath boundary is formed by liner panels and the SCA's are linear elements that elongate at a temperature TH which is higher than T0 thereby distending the spacer and reducing its resistance to fluid flow. One suitable shape change material is a nickel/titanium alloy known as NiTiNOL.

Abstract: A convertible sofa includes a seat and a backrest moveable between a first configuration, in which the backrest is positioned along a back of the seat, and a second configuration, in which the backrest overlies an upper support surface of the seat. The sofa also includes a side wall positioned adjacent a side of the seat to define a recess that forms a leg opening. The sofa further includes a worksurface moveable between a first position, in which the worksurface is disposed within the recess and substantially aligned with a plane defined by the upper support surface of the seat, and a second position, in which the worksurface is spaced above the plane defined by the upper support surface of the seat. At least a portion of the worksurface is covered by the backrest when the worksurface is in the first position and the backrest is in the second configuration.

Abstract: A foldable mattress support includes a headboard, a central hinge portion and first and second portions of a bedboard frame. The first and second portions are pivotally attached to the central hinge. A longer first strut is pivotally attached at a first location to a side bar of the first portion and at a third location to a post of the headboard. A shorter second strut is pivotally attached at a second location to the side bar and at a fourth location to the post. The second location is closer to the head end of the first portion than is the first location, and the fourth location is closer to the top of the post than is the third location. The struts rotate the headboard from an unfolded state that is perpendicular to the first portion down to being parallel and adjacent to the first portion in a collapsed state.

Abstract: A supporting frame of an electric bed, which is used to be connected with a lateral board, includes a base, a supporting portion disposed on the base, and an extended supporter. At least a part of the supporting portion is movable relative to the base. The lateral board is adjacent to the edge of the supporting portion. The extended supporter has a transverse portion extended from the base toward the lateral board, and a connecting portion located at a free end of the transverse portion. The transverse portion and the supporting portion have a distance therebetween. The connecting portion is used to be connected with the lateral board, so that the lateral board of the bed frame is fixed by being connected with the base by the extended supporter, and the user is prevented from being pinched.

Abstract: Cushioning articles such as mattresses can include a three dimensional wave spring core. The wave spring includes a polymeric lattice spring structure including a plurality of alternating layers stackedly arranged to define a height of the wave spring, wherein each one of the alternating layers is defined by a single strand having one or more upward and downward undulations, wherein the alternating layers are arranged such that an upward undulation of one layer is connected to a downward undulation of the other layer to define a cell configured to receive a compressive force, wherein the lattice structure has a sinusoidal shape when viewed top down and is configured to have three dimensional structure.
