Abstract: A convertible chair bed device. The convertible chair bed device includes a frame assembly, having a left bar support and a right bar support, configured to support a plurality of cross bars. The frame assembly is sized to accept a padded base between the left bar support and the right bar support, and the padded base includes a first section pivotally attached to a second section. During use, an individual seated on the padded base, such as a handicapped individual, is able to grip and move any of the plurality of cross bars to independently transition between a seated position and a supine position.

Abstract: A patient transfer device includes a patient support surface having a top surface adapted for positioning a patient thereon and a bottom surface defining one or more areas having a concave curvature for passage of air flow therethrough. Passage of the air flow along the one or more areas having a concave curvature provides an air bearing below at least a portion of the bottom surface. Exemplary patient transfer systems and methods of moving a patient are also provided.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus including a patient couch and a single supporting pillar on which the patient couch is arranged in an adjustable and cantilevered manner, is provided. The apparatus includes a first rotary frame and a second rotary frame. The first rotary frame rotates about a first axis and encloses the supporting pillar. The second rotary frame rotates about a second axis, rotatably encloses the first rotary frame, and is fixed to the patient couch. The first rotary frame and the second rotary frame form a gimbal mount for the patient couch.

Abstract: A comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has slow-acting pockets characterized by the individual mini coil springs of the comfort layer being pocketed with either semi-impermeable or impermeable fabric. Each weld seam joining opposed plies of fabric around each of the coil springs of the comfort layer may be segmented, allowing air to flow between the segments, thereby increasing the luxury “feel” of the comfort layer. The method of making the comfort layer includes compressing the mini coil springs and creating pockets with a welding horn and an anvil.

Abstract: A substrate is provided having a tactile object attached, the substrate constructed of a first material forming a shell. The tactile object may be formed of a second material that is different than the first material, the tactile object formed in the shape of a comfort item. The tactile object further has a first side providing tactile sensory feedback, and a second side configured to be attached to the shell such that the first side of the tactile object extends away from the first rectangular side of the shell. According to the inventive concepts disclosed herein, the substrate is provided to a user in need of comfort and the tactile object provides tactile sensory feedback to the user designed to comfort the user.

Abstract: A mattress topper for fitting to a mattress may include a lower layer, a side layer configured to extend down along a side of the mattress, and an upper layer overlaying the lower layer and at least partially disposed between the lower layer and the side layer. The mattress topper may also include a seam including threads and extending along peripheral edges of the lower layer and the upper layer and extending through the lower layer, upper layer, and side layer, the lower layer and side layer bearing the threads of the seam. An air table may include a top panel including a plurality of vents extending through the top panel. A method of making a mattress topper with an air table may include lifting the mattress topper with the air table while performing sewing procedures on the mattress topper.

The lock and release assembly includes a guide plate defining a slot, a rocker coupled to the lock bar and including a protrusion slidable within the slot, and a release member coupled to the release bar and including a protrusion slidable within the slot. Moving the lock bar to the locked position slides the protrusion of the rocker through the slot to extend the foot. Moving the release bar to the release position urges the protrusion of the release member through the and into contact with the protrusion of the rocker to urge the protrusion of the rocker back, thereby retracting the foot.

A backing member affixed to the housing assembly includes a fastener, and a backing member affixed to the flat member includes a fastener for engaging the fastener of the inflatable housing assembly for anchoring the inflatable housing assembly in a stable position onto the top of the mattress. The device is easily deflated for storage and/or packaging and can be used on any size bed.

And a driver is provided between the first cross bar and the second cross bar. The invention realizes the angle adjustment and the bed length adjustment function by the movable rail in conjunction with the sliding part.

Abstract: A pocketed spring comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has pockets characterized by the individual mini coil springs of the comfort layer being pocketed with between at least one cushion assembly and a sheet of polypropylene fabric. Each cushion assembly includes at least one foam layer. A segmented seam joins the cushion assembly and the sheet of polypropylene fabric around each of the mini coil springs of the pocketed spring comfort layer. The method of making the pocketed spring comfort layer includes compressing the mini coil springs and creating pockets with a welding horn and an anvil.

Abstract: A three pivot point foldable frame has first and second lower front hubs, first and second upper front hubs, a lower rear hub, and an upper rear hub. Six support members interconnect the hubs. First and second support members pivotally engage each other at a first pivot. Third and fifth support members pivotally engage each other at a second pivot. Fourth and sixth support members pivotally engage each other at a third pivot. A child seat or lounger is engaged to the upper hubs. The frame folds out to an operating position and in to a compact position.
