  • Patent number: 8360371
Abstract: The invention is a suspension apparatus for maintaining conduits (hoses, cables, wires, tubing) in desirable positions to prevent conduit abrasion, drag, and friction damage. The suspension apparatus connects a series of conduit guides, having bores through which conduits run, with a guy wire assembly that holds the conduits in a desired position. The guy wires are held by a tension cable connected to a tension reel installed on a mounting. The ends of the guy wires are connected by brackets to mounting structures in a way that provides for the majority of tension forces and system movement to be accounted by the guy wires instead of the conduits. One embodiment is used to manage cables and hoses installed on tractor-trailer rigs having hoses and cables that extend along the length of the trailer. A more particular embodiment includes an installation on a tandem slider trailer with an adjustable wheel base.

  • Patent number: 8356660
Abstract: In an oil derrick separate service loops which are power cables and/or hydraulic hoses are affixed at one end to a top drive and affixed at an opposite end to an oil derrick end, adding a series of polyurethane supports or rungs along the length of the separate service loops to provide a little lateral motion but to limit the overall amount of lateral motion. The rungs will also help insure that the cables and hoses do not wrap themselves around everything when the wind blows. In order to carry the weight of the cables, two parallel steel cables are affixed on either side of the copper cables, and two steel cables are affixed on either side of the hydraulic hoses. These steel cables will be terminated at the derrick and the top drive by being affixed to steel brackets received in steel mounting plates all designed to withstand the loads.

  • Patent number: 8353493
Abstract: Various apparatuses to attach a first medical device to a second medical device are described that allow the physician to grasp only a single device while the other device remains securely attached to the one being grasped. The apparatuses, once they are attached to the first medical device, are designed to be easily and quickly attached and detached to a second medical device, normally only requiring the use of one hand. Furthermore, the apparatuses oftentimes include a base that can easily couple and decouple from the portion that is attached to the second medical device so that if the need arises to separately use the second medical device, it can be decoupled from the first medical device without completely removing the apparatus from the second medical device.

  • Patent number: 8353495
Abstract: In a non-use state where no beverage container is housed in a housing space, holding claws are urged by a ring spring to an advanced reference position where the holding claws are mostly advanced into the housing space and a bottom plate is urged by a coil spring to a highest reference position where the bottom plate is mostly moved upwardly. When a beverage container is housed in the housing space, the holding claws are pushed toward the radial outer direction of the housing space by the side surface of the beverage container, whereby the holding claws move backwardly against the urging force of the ring spring. Simultaneously, since the weight of the beverage container is applied to the bottom plate, the bottom plate moves downwardly against the urging force of the coil spring, whereby a lock member moves downwardly together with the downward movement of the bottom plate.
