Abstract: Apparatus and method for removing an aircraft engine. A method includes mounting a frame assembly in supported connection with a support member of an associated aircraft. The frame assembly includes a frame member, a movable assembly mounted in movable relationship to the frame member, and a plurality of engine winches mounted in supported connection with the movable member. Each engine winch has an associated engine cable operably connected thereto. The movable assembly is movable between forward and rearward positions. The method further includes supporting the weight of at least a portion of an aircraft engine with the engine cables and moving the movable member relative to the frame member to displace the portion of the aircraft engine.

Abstract: A support device for a flat appliance is disclosed. The support device includes a mounting plate having at least one hole defined therein. The mounting plate is adapted for attachment to a side of the flat appliance with a fastener extending through the at least one hole and into at least one corresponding receiving hole in the flat appliance. The device further includes a mounting bracket that is adapted for attachment to a stand structure. The device also includes a brace disposed between the mounting plate and the mounting bracket. The at least one hole in the mounting plate is adapted for accommodating the receiving hole of a variety of different flat appliances.

Abstract: A device is suitable for securing an object to a wall. The device comprises a wall element to be fixed to a wall and a support element to be connected to the object. On a first side, the support element is provided with a first hook-shaped element, which, in use, can be attached to a receiving element provided in the wall element. On a second side remote from said first side, the support element is provided with a second hook-shaped element, which, in use, is in spring-loaded engagement with a second receiving element provided in the wall element. The device comprises a locking element for locking the second hook-shaped element in a locking position in a position in which it is disconnected from the wall element.

Abstract: Paper or plastic cups, plates, and paper utensils are held in place on a table attaching a table cloth to a table, and then attaching by tableware holders to the table cloth. The table cloth and the tableware holders have mating fasteners that prevent the tableware holders from moving relative to the table cloth. Each tableware holder is sized and dimensioned to receive different types of tableware and each holder has stabilizers that prevent the tableware from blowing off of the table.

Abstract: Modular casket hardware which includes a bracket configured to attach to a casket corner wall surface. The bracket is also configured to be oriented with respect to the casket in a first orientation to attach to the casket wall and a second orientation to attach to the casket corner. A bore in the bracket is configured to receive a casket bar when in the first orientation. Tabs on the bracket are configured to at least partially fit within a portion of the casket bar when the bracket is oriented in the second orientation. A bracket cover could also use other bracket type mechanisms to attach and hold the casket bars to the casket which will support the required weight of a casket at the grave site. Once a bracket and bars are attached, the casket will be able to be shipped without the decorative bracket cover installed. The decorative modular casket bracket cover will be able to be added to the casket at any time.

Abstract: A tree stand for supporting a cut tree in an upright position by its trunk features a sheet of flexible resilient material cut to form a plurality of retaining flaps extending inwardly from a perimeter portion of the sheet toward a centre thereof such that the retaining flaps will flex away from the perimeter portion of the sheet under forcing of a cut end of the tree's trunk against the center of the sheet to allow passage of a portion of the trunk therethrough while resiliently biasing back toward the perimeter portion of the sheet to engage a periphery of the tree's trunk. A support structure defines a base and supports the sheet at a distance upward from a plane of the base such that the tree's trunk passing through the sheet is held by the retaining flaps in a position projecting upwardly away from the plane of the base.

Abstract: A cam holder system is described. A cam mechanism allows the holder to accept sheet material and be closed easily, while still maintaining strong holding power. The holder is formed by two or more separate pieces of extruded rigid material that slide together. End caps can be used to hold the pieces in alignment with each other so that they do not slide apart when the holder is opened. The cam is located near the middle of the assembly so that the user has leverage when opening and closing the holder. The holder can be squeezed in one direction to open the holder, and in the other direction to close the holder. A lever arm for closure is located above the cam, and a lever arm for opening is located below the cam. The receiving slot is located on-center so that the holder and the sheet material remain aligned with each other during use.

Abstract: A container holder adapted to hold a container between two spaced apart prongs is provided herein. The prongs clamp the container with a clamping force large enough to hold the container, but small enough to avoid damaging the container. The prongs may be spaced apart to fit different-sized containers, while the clamping force still meets these criteria. The clamping force may be provided by a substantially constant-force spring or a variable-force spring. In a method according to the present invention, a stack of nested containers is held in a container holder as described, for subsequent removal of a selected container from the stack.

Abstract: A method of attaching a mounting bracket to a substrate having a throughhole includes providing the bracket with two clamp halves. One of the clamp halves is translated in a radially inward direction relative to a body of the bracket to thereby place the one clamp half in a stowed position. The bracket is partially inserted through the throughhole such that the one clamp half in the stowed position passes through the throughhole and the other clamp half does not pass through the throughhole. After the partially inserting step, the one clamp half is translated in a radially outward direction relative to the body of the bracket to thereby place the one clamp half in an operable position. A threaded member that is threadedly engaged to the one clamp half is rotated to thereby move the one clamp half toward the other clamp half until the substrate is clamped between the two clamp halves.

Abstract: A beam clamp releasably securable to a flange of a beam. The beam clamp comprises a clamping member connected to a base. The clamping member includes a latch. The latch has an engaged and a disengaged position. When in its engaged position the latch securing the clamping member to the flange and thereby securing the base to the beam. When it is in its disengaged position the latch permitting the base to be removed or withdrawn from the beam.

Abstract: A mount for elements of a water or heating installations is provided that includes a base body and a retaining clip that extends around one of the elements and releasably attaches it to the body. The base body and retaining clip are shaped to fit the elements. The retaining clip is U-shaped, has two legs and is made of a resilient, sound-damping plastic. The ends of the legs are bent back in a V shape and first detent projections are formed on the outside of the leg ends. The base body has openings matched to the legs. Formed on the inner wall of the openings are second detent projections, which cooperate with the first detent projections. The ends of the legs are designed to be manipulated by hand.

Abstract: A mailbox support has an attachment for attaching the mailbox support to the ground, a first plate attached to the attachment, a second plate rotatably attached to the first plate, a fixture attaching to the second plate for supporting the mailbox support and, an abutment for limiting rotation of the second plate relative to the first plate and for assisting in installing the attachment to the ground. A method for installing a support into the ground includes placing a first plate on a second plate, the second plate having an attachment for attaching the second plate to the ground, and utilizing the first plate and the second plate to drive the attachment into the ground. The first plate and the second plate are joined so that first and second plates may rotate relative to each other to properly orient the first plate.

Abstract: A fixing device includes a base, a first fixing arm, and a second fixing arm. The base has a first guiding slot and a second guiding slot perpendicular to the first guiding slot defined therein. The first fixing arm includes a first guiding rod and a first abutting portion slidably engaged with the first guiding rod. The first guiding rod extends through the first abutting portion and the base at the first guiding slot to move along the first guiding slot. The second fixing arm includes a second guiding rod and a second abutting portion fixedly engaged with the second guiding rod. The second guiding rod extends through the second abutting portion and the base at the second guiding slot to move along the second guiding slot. The first abutting portion and the second abutting portion cooperatively define a receiving space for fixedly receiving the backlight module on the base.

Abstract: Provided is a clip that allows two securing members to be firmly joined to each other without requiring a special working process to the applied to either one of the securing members. The clip for securing joining a first securing member to a second securing member comprises a base plate portion formed with a through hole, a first clamping piece extending from the base plate portion in a front side direction, and a second clamping piece extending from a part of the base plate portion intermediate between the first clamping piece and through hole in the front side direction and further extending above the through hole. A threaded member is passed into the through hole from a back side of the base plate portion to fixedly attach the second securing member to the back side of the base plate portion.

Abstract: An adjustable cup holder incorporates an elongated clamp assembly and cup support assembly. The clamp assembly has a proximal end and a distal clamping end. The cup support assembly is connected at the proximal end of the clamp assembly, and comprises a body portion and a pair of arcuate cup-encircling arms having respective spaced-apart free ends. A pivot pin enables pivot adjustment of the cup support assembly at the proximal end of the clamp assembly, such that the cup support assembly is movable between a desired in-use position depending from the clamp assembly, and a folded stowed position beside the clamp assembly. In the stowed position, the clamp assembly passes between the spaced-apart free ends of the cup-encircling arms and into an area defined between the cup-encircling arms.

Abstract: A connection device for adjustably connecting a surgical apparatus connected to a first end of the connection device to an attachment part on a stationary device, such as an operating table, which can be connected to a second end of the connection device. The connection device has a first holding arm and a second holding arm, connected to the first holding arm in a hinged fashion via a ball and socket joint. A clamping apparatus is provided for detachably clamping the ball of the ball and socket joint in the ball and socket joint receptacle. A hydraulic apparatus is also provided which, when operated, loads the clamping apparatus with a force opposing the clamping force. Further, a clamping force transformation apparatus transforms the force applied by the clamping apparatus into a larger clamping force.

Abstract: In the field of communication technologies, a fixing device for a holding pole is provided, so as to solve the problem of increased mounting cost due to too much manpower occupied by mounting the fixing device for the holding pole. The fixing device for the holding pole includes a first fastener, a second fastener, and a securing member, two ends of the first fastener are radially engaged with two ends of the second fastener to form a ring, and the securing member rotatably runs through the first fastener or the second fastener to reach the inside of the ring.

Abstract: An plumbing pipe locator and support is provided for fixing plumbing pipes in position relative to studs in a building. The pipe locator and support comprises an elongated supporting strap having upper and lower sides extending along opposing sides of a longitudinal axis. A first plurality of longitudinally aligned, larger pipe openings are interspersed with a second plurality of smaller, aligned fastener openings that extend into ends of the strap. The upper and lower sides undulate to provide a substantially uniform width between first holes and the adjacent sides and the second holes and the adjacent sides. This undulating surface can provide a strap using less material, with reduced manufacturing time, and a strap that can bend without forming creases or stress fractures.

Abstract: A fastening element for fastening a longitudinally extending article, in particular a cable or a cable loom, which is to be fixed to a component, in particular to a motor vehicle body part, with a wrapping tape. The fastening element comprising a body including a first cheek element, a second cheek element, and at least two connection struts which connect the cheek elements to one another in a longitudinal direction of the body, and which define an opening for receiving the tape. The tape is insertable into the opening substantially transversely to the longitudinal direction, in order to circumferentially wrap the article with the wrapping tape.

Abstract: The disclosed hands-free reading device is a particle filled bag having an alcove to support a book or other item comprising readable text in a hands-free reading position. A method of arranging an item for the purposes of reading is also provided.
