  • Patent number: 8020815
Abstract: The stand has modules to form a support base with elongated support members with wheels or legs. The stand can either incorporate two spaced load supporting posts or a single post extending from a spanner module that connects between the elongated support members. When two load support members are employed the user can step between the posts. When a single post and spanner are employed the user can step as far as the spanner near the center of support. The support members diverge from their centers provide a wide stance of the wheels or legs for stability. At the upper end of the post or posts a load support platform is carried either directly on a single post or through a cross-piece on a two post configuration. T-shaped slots in the post can be utilized to attach loads to the posts and a panel extending between posts.

  • Patent number: 8006950
Abstract: An apparatus support (11) with a damping characteristic comprises a rigid reinforcing component, in particular a steel plate (19), encapsulated by a body (16) of compliant material, particularly a composite of particulate mineral material and synthetic binder. The plate (19) defines an opening (19a) at spacing from the upper side of the body (16) and a mounting ring (21) is embedded in the body so as to be disposed at least partly above the opening. The ring (21) has a peripheral flange (21a) which is spaced from the plate (19) and from the upper side of the body and overlaps the plate in vertical projection. Material of the body is thus disposed above the flange (21a) and also sandwiched between the flange and the plate so that a damping zone is present around the ring both above and below the flange.

  • Patent number: 8002232
Abstract: A device used to secure an automobile catalytic converter. The invention deters a person from tampering with or stealing a catalytic converter. The device consists of at least four overlapping, and adjustable plates comprising an adjustable frame structure that clamp around the catalytic converter. Tightening of fasteners keeps the frame structure securely in position around the catalytic converter, preventing easy access to the catalytic converter. The frame structure is then secured to the automobile itself with a looped cable, which prevents easy removal of the catalytic converter.
