Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and computer usable medium for directing service in a vehicle. A service request is received at a service management application from the vehicle. A vehicle location is also received. Vehicle delivery-enabling information is determined based on the service request and the vehicle location. The service corresponding to the service request is configured based on the vehicle delivery-enabling information. The configured service is sent to the vehicle.
Abstract: Disclosed user equipment performs intermittent reception in a different frequency from a frequency of a serving cell belonging to a current radio access network or in a different radio access network from the current radio access network. The user equipment includes a receiving unit for receiving and demodulating a control signal and a cell search unit for performing a cell search in a specified frequency. When a release signal is received, the user equipment switches to a preliminary intermittent reception mode where the receiving unit intermittently receives the control signal in the serving cell and the cell search unit performs the cell search in the different frequency or the different radio access network between intermittent reception timings. Then, the user equipment switches to a normal intermittent reception mode where the receiving unit intermittently receives the control signal in the different frequency or the different radio access network.

Abstract: In a radio access network (24) a femto radio base station (28f) comprises a resident receiver (54) which acquires system information broadcast in a radio access network (24). At least part of the system information is used for building, at the femto radio base station (28f), a neighbor data structure (59) comprising information for neighboring cells. The neighbor data structure (59) is then used for building a neighbor list. The neighbor list is subsequently transmitted from the femto radio base station (28f) to a user equipment unit (30) served by the femto radio base station (28f). In some example embodiments and modes, the femto radio base station (28f) reports the neighbor data structure to a network node (26, 100) other than the femto radio base station. The other node (26, 100) uses the neighbor data structure for building the neighbor list at the other node.
Abstract: A multimode communication apparatus capable of varying a function of a signal processing portion without external resource control is provided. The multimode communication apparatus includes a radio portion 103 for conducting a radio communication, a plurality of signal processing devices 105, 106 whose function can be varied by resource control, and a storing portion 109 for storing data defining a resource controlling function that is executable on a plurality of signal processing devices 105, 106. Since the resource controlling function is furnished into any of the signal processing devices 105, 106, the function of the signal processing devices 105, 106 can be varied not to provide a resource controlling portion to the outside of the signal processing device.
Abstract: Systems for methods for remote user authentication by using a cellular phone and an authentication system that generates and uses transient pass codes. The Authentication system is used to store a user's existing passwords; alternatively, the authentication system creates on demand a transient random pass code that is good for a limited duration. The transient pass codes may also be used in the packets that enable each packet to be individually authenticated in the firewall. When the user has forgotten the password in a traditional system, alternatively, without the need to create or remember passwords, user can use transient pass codes. The user retrieves the password or the pass code via a cell telephone call to the authentication system, before logging on to the system.
Abstract: A method of performing a handover from a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) system to a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) system in a multi-mode terminal having a WCDMA module and a CDMA module includes determining whether a handover to the CDMA system is necessary during a call through a WCDMA system; acquiring a pilot signal from the CDMA system by activating the CDMA module if it is determined that the handover to the CDMA system is necessary; receiving a sync signal if the pilot signal from the CDMA system is acquired; transmitting information for handover to the WCDMA system through the WCDMA module; allowing the CDMA module to enter a CDMA traffic state using handover information if the handover information is received from the WCDMA system through WCDMA module; and releasing a traffic state of the WCDMA module.
Abstract: A mobile wireless communication device also has at least one wired communication port. Enhanced security is achieved by permitting the device to automatically disable one or more wireless ports when connected to a wired port. Specific combinations/permutations of such automatic control may be effected by use of an IT Policy also resident on the device.

Abstract: A wireless security or managing system based on Bluetooth technology suited for a person on the move prohibits the use, without proper authentication, of electronic devices having special software installed. A watch, key holder or mobile telephone or other mobile electronic device equipped with a Bluetooth unit serves as a master in the everyday environment of a user, enabling access to slave devices such as laptop and desk computers, palm computers and PDAs and mobile telephones. Unless the ˜presence of the master device in the vicinity of a slave device is verified, the slave device automatically locks itself, switches itself or some import function off or enters a login state.

Abstract: Information is received identifying a geographic location of an access point in a radio access network. Access information is assigned and communicated to the access point, and the access information and the geographic location information is communicated to an access terminal. The access terminal identifies the access point as a preferred access point, including its geographic location. The access terminal receives information identifying its own geographic location, and when the access terminal is near the access point, the access point is used to access the network. The access point receives information identifying its geographic location and communicates the geographic location information to a configuration server. The access point receives access information from the configuration server and provides access terminals access to the network using the access information.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatuses for utilizing unused portions of an allocated frequency spectrum in a wireless communications system that broadcasts content to wireless stations. A first wireless station may communicate with a second wireless station on an idle broadcast channel while keeping the resulting interference level below an acceptable maximum limit at the other wireless stations. Using interference level information that are measured at the wireless stations, the wireless station can negotiate with the other wireless station on an establishment channel for subsequent communications on one or more broadcast channels. The wireless station may receive broadcast content on a time slice that corresponds to a broadcast channel and that is further processed by the wireless station. Otherwise, the wireless station can utilize the corresponding time to measure an interference level for the corresponding channel or to transmit or receive data to/from another wireless station.
