  • Patent number: 9832757
Abstract: A mobile terminal is used in a mobile communication system including a general cell supporting a broadcast distribution of MBMS data and a specific cell not supporting a broadcast distribution of MBMS data. The mobile terminal has a controller that executes an autonomous search that searches for a specific cell to which the mobile terminal is allowed to connect. In an idle state, the controller halts the autonomous search when the user terminal receives the MBMS data from the general cell.

  • Patent number: 9832128
Abstract: Dynamic advertisement routing is disclosed. For example, a plurality of internet protocol (“IP”) addresses associated with respective plurality of target nodes is stored in a routing pool. Each IP address in the routing pool is pinged through each of first and second load balancer network interfaces. Network routes associated with target nodes are updated based on a first plurality of ping responses. Communications sessions are established with target nodes through respective network routes. IP addresses are pinged and respective latencies in a latency cache are updated based on a second plurality of ping responses. A first request directed to the plurality of target nodes is received and is determined to be sent to a first target node based on the latency cache forwarded to the first target node via the first network route.

  • Patent number: 9826072
Abstract: An anchoring network device of a telecommunications network can receive a first initiation request of a communication session and determine a second request indicating a different media capability than the first request. The different capabilities can share a payload format. A network gateway can modify headers of packets to change between the capabilities. In some examples, the anchoring device can determine that a codec list of the initiation request corresponds to a rewrite rule. The device can apply the rewrite rule to the request to provide a second request listing a second, different codec. The first codec and the second codec can both be associated with a common payload format. The network gateway can modify first packets from a first to a second terminal to replace first-codec headers with second-codec headers and vice-versa.

  • Patent number: 9775185
Abstract: Measures are provided for management of RRC for D2D communication. Such measures include setting a connected state of RRC for device(s) of a pair of devices. For the devices(s), both a D2D communication service between the pair of devices and a core network communication service between the device(s) and a core network entity are active. The setting enables radio resource management for the device(s) for the D2D communication service and the core network communication service. Termination of the core network communication service is detected for the device(s). A connection towards the core network entity is reconfigured for disabling the core network communication service of the device(s). The connected state of RRC is maintained for the devices(s) of the pair of devices, for which the device(s) only the device-to-device communication service is active. • Patent number: 9736059
Abstract: Some embodiments provide redundancy and failover for accelerating and improving the processing of commands across a distributed platform. A distributed platform administrative server distributes commands to different distributed platform points-of-presence (PoPs) for execution. The administrative server distributes the commands over a first set of transit provider paths that connect the server to each PoP. The administrative server selects the first set of paths based on different addressing associated with each of the paths. If any of the first paths is unavailable or underperforming, the administrative server selects a second path by changing a destination address and resends the command to the particular PoP over the second path. Some embodiments further modify PoP server operation so that the PoP servers can identify commands issued according to the different path addressing and distribute such commands to all other servers of the same PoP upon identifying the different path addressing.

  • Patent number: 9699233
Abstract: According to one embodiment, in response to a request to transfer a data set from a source system to a target system over a network, an adaptive performance control (APC) controller allocates a plurality of data streams for transferring the data set. The APC controller activates one or more data streams from the allocated data streams to transfer the data set from the source system to the target system. The APC controller monitors an overall throughput of the activated data streams assigned to transfer the data set from the source system to the target system. The APC controller dynamically adjusts a number of the activated data streams based on the monitored overall throughput of the activated data streams, such that a maximum overall throughput of the activated data streams is reached while maintaining a minimum number of the activated data streams.

  • Patent number: 9698879
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangements in a communication system for Multi User Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MU-MIMO) signaling via Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) antennas between a base station and one of a plurality of mobile terminals supporting both Single User and Multi User Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (SU-MIMO and MU-MIMO) signaling modes. Switching between the modes is supported in the system and the modes have partly shared signaling. SU-MIMO mode signaling which is redundant, i.e. not needed, for MU-MIMO mode signaling is identified. Bits, i.e. data bits, of the identified redundant signaling is re-interpreted or re-defined to comprise signaling information associated with MU-MIMO mode. The signaling information associated with MU-MIMO mode is signaled to the mobile terminal by using the reinterpreted redundant bits.

  • Patent number: 9674117
Abstract: The present invention relates to a computing apparatus as an element of a network structure using a method for acquiring and maintaining cell locked data transfer amongst a number of computing apparatuses. A predefined number of symbols transmitted as a cell is followed by a variable number of idle symbols to ensure the nominally simultaneous start of the cell transfers throughout the network without a central control. At specific positions of the cells each computing apparatus broadcasts a list of its transmission requests and receiver capabilities to all other computing apparatuses. Each of the interconnected computing apparatuses executes the same arbitration procedure based on the identical data set of transmission requests and receiver capabilities. As a result transmission paths are assigned for direct transmission and for payload forwarding. The transmission paths can be assigned per cell period individually for both directions of each link.
