Abstract: A method and a system for purification of oil, said method comprising the steps of: -providing separation aid and oil to be purified to at least one sedimentation tank; -waiting for allowing a sludge phase to sediment to a bottom part of the sedimentation tank, said sludge phase comprising the separation aid together with impurities from the oil; -removing an oil phase not comprising said sludge phase from the at least one sedimentation tank; and -filtering said oil phase through a depth filter for removing any possible remaining separation aid and impurities.
Abstract: An oil sludge treatment system includes: a reduced-pressure fermentation dryer; a filtration apparatus; and a cleaner. The reduced-pressure fermentation dryer is configured to: store oil sludge in an airtight container; heat and stir the oil sludge under reduced pressure so that a temperature of the oil sludge is within a predetermined temperature range; decompose organic matter contained in the oil sludge using microorganisms while evaporating water; and obtain volume-reduced dried product. The filtration apparatus filters oil from the dried product. The cleaner cleans, by steam, the dried product from which the oil has been filtered.
Abstract: A method for upgrading mixed pyrolysis oil may include contacting the mixed pyrolysis oil with hydrogen in the presence of a mixed metal oxide catalyst at reaction conditions to produce a reaction effluent including light aromatic compounds. The mixed pyrolysis oil includes multi-ring aromatic compounds and is formed from light pyrolysis oil and heavy pyrolysis oil at a ratio of 10:90 to 40:60 with light pyrolysis oil representing a bottom stream of a gas steam cracker and heavy pyrolysis oil representing a bottom stream of a naphtha steam cracker. The mixed metal oxide catalyst includes a plurality of catalyst particles with each catalyst particles including a plurality of metal oxides. An associated system for upgrading mixed pyrolysis oil may include a pyrolysis upgrading unit housing the mixed metal oxide catalyst and a separation unit operable to separate used mixed metal oxide catalyst from the reaction effluent.

Abstract: A catalytic upgrading process includes introducing a feed comprising crude oil to a steam cracking unit, thereby producing pyrolysis fuel oil (PFO). The PFO is introduced to a first catalytic depolyaromatization reactor to remove polyaromatics from the feed, thereby producing polyaromatics adsorbed to the catalyst and depolyaromatized PFO. The depolyaromatized PFO is introduced to a hydrocracking unit. The resulting benzene-toluene-xylenes (BTX) and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) are separated, and the BTX is introduced to a BTX complex to produce refined BTX. The LPG can then be introduced to the steam cracking unit. After depolyaromatization, a wash solvent is introduced into the first catalytic depolyaromatization reactor to remove the polyaromatics, regenerate the catalyst, and produce a mixture comprising the wash solvent and the polyaromatics. The wash solvent is separated from the polyaromatics.

Abstract: A coke oven can include an oven body, a foundation, and a plurality of beams separating the oven body from the foundation, A buckstay applies force to the oven body to maintain compression on the oven body during thermal cycling of the coke oven. The coke oven further comprises a spring-loaded compression device, which can include a restraining device, an anchor coupled to the restraining device, and a spring coupled to the restraining device. The anchor can be attached to one or more of the beams, the foundation of the oven, or to a similar compression device on an opposite side of the oven. The spring applies force between the restraining device and the one or more beams or foundation to compress the buckstay against the oven. The force applied by the spring can maintain structural stability of the coke oven over a plurality of thermal cycles.
