  • Patent number: 4133111
Abstract: A motor driven plotter has a plotting head which is translated in two coordinate directions over the work surface of a plotting table. The plotting head is mounted on a first carriage which moves in one coordinate direction and a second carriage is mounted on the first for movement in the second coordinate direction. The limits of both carriages in each coordinate direction are directed by means of a pull cord suspended in a rectangular pattern from the first carriage. A cord portion or segment is intersected and extended by a contact at each limit of travel in the coordinate directions. A switch connected to the cord produces a limit signal when the cord is extended.

  • Patent number: 4132468
Abstract: In the illustrative embodiments of the invention disclosed, autostereoscopic pictures are produced by projecting a series of two-dimensional views of an object field onto a lenticular screen. Substantially uninterrupted and non-overlapping condensed, or lineiform, images of the two-dimensional views are formed beneath each lenticule of the lenticular screen by setting the number M of these images in the image band beneath each lenticule, and hence the total number of two-dimensional views projected, equal to w/m, where w is the lenticule width and m is the width of each condensed image. In order to project the required number M of two-dimensional views while avoiding gaps between adjacent condensed images, the projection lenses and the associated film frames are positioned along a plurality of adjacent, parallel, straight lines in a manner such that the apertures of the lenses are effectively in edge-to-edge contiguous relation.

  • Patent number: 4132413
Abstract: A toy phonograph comprises means for pressing a pickup arm into engagement with a phonograph record for reproducing recorded sound from the phonograph record playing surface during rotation thereof. The sound is picked up from a sound reproducing groove in the playing surface by direct resilient contact of a speaker cone assembly with the pickup arm. The speaker cone assembly includes a lift bar containing an aperture adjacent the end of the recording with a protrusion on the pickup arm being received in the aperture as the pickup arm reaches the end of the recording. The drive means for the turntable has an associated electrical contact located between the phonograph record playing surface and the lift bar. When the protrusion is received in the lift bar aperture, the lift bar drops a sufficient amount to engage a leaf spring contact which is normally biased to a closed circuit condition to open the circuit and thus shut off the drive means.

  • Patent number: 4131141
Abstract: A combustion engine system has a tank for volatile fuel with a flexible bag inside equipped with its own breather valve separate form the fill pipe for the tank. When the tank is filled, a muff around the full pipe seals the tank against exhaust of volatile vapors, and air from the bag is forced out the breather valve as it is displaced by the liquid fuel until a valve element on the bag shuts off the breather valve, whereby only pure air is vented to the atmosphere. As the tank empties during use, air returns through the breather valve to fill the bag and replace the space in the tank previously occupied by the liquid fuel, and incoming air may be dried. There is a vapor return for the automatic nozzle used to fill the tank with fuel from a stationary reservoir at the filling station and automatic means to prevent filling the tank until the nozzle is sealed in the fill pipe.

  • Patent number: 4130148
Abstract: A gasoline dispensing nozzle for discharging gasoline into receiving vessels and for removing vapors therefrom through a vapor removal line is provided with an automatic shut-off device that terminates the delivery of gasoline in the event liquid gasoline flows into said vapor removal line. The shut-off device comprises a sensing orifice disposed at the end of a flexibly mounted tube within said vapor removal line, which tube leads to a passageway extending into the housing of said gasoline nozzle and terminating in a chamber that contains a conventional, diaphragm-operated, trigger mechanism for closing the main nozzle valve. In operation, no matter which way the nozzle is inserted into a gasoline tank fill pipe, the sensing orifice, by gravity, will fall into a position such that, if gasoline flows into said vapor removal line, it must also flood the sensing orifice.
