  • Patent number: 5692885
Abstract: A laboratory pump (1) for liquids has a pump housing (2) with an inlet opening (3) and an outlet opening (4) and in which at least one pump rotor (5) rotates. The pump rotor (5) is joined either directly or indirectly by means of a transmission with a magnet (6), which is magnetically coupled with a rotating magnetic field of a magnetic stirrer (8). In addition, the pump housing (2) of the pump (1) can be joined with the magnetic stirrer (8) in such a way that the magnet (6) comes under the influence range of the rotating magnetic field of the magnetic stirrer (8) and is driven by it. The pump has no driving means of its own, and therefore can be designed in an especially simple way. Magnetic stirrers (8) present in laboratories can be used for driving the pump (1), and thus obtain an additional function.

  • Patent number: 5687631
Abstract: A two-stage speed change mechanism for a swash plate hydraulic motor, in which a swash plate is moved even during the revolution of the swash type hydraulic motor, thereby making it possible to vary the exclusion volume. An accommodating bore for accommodating a fixing pin is formed on a side wall of a housing. Piston for shifting the swash plate is provided, and control valves 14,15 and 16 each including a pilot line 14, a spool 15 and a compression spring 16 are installed for the actuation of the swash plate shifting piston 3. • Patent number: 5681149
Abstract: A hydraulic pump is disclosed which uses a side-discharge valve plate. The present valve plate includes a valve plate body having front and back surfaces with a side defining the peripheral surface therebetween. First and second fluid passages are formed on at least one of said front and back surfaces for respectively defining a fluid inlet for supplying hydraulic fluid to a piston and a fluid outlet for receiving pressurized hydraulic fluid from a piston. At least one fluid access is formed in the side of the valve plate body, connecting with at least one of said fluid passages to define a fluid pathway therewith. The design of the present invention thereby permits a pump design have shorter axial length, permitting a smaller size pump which offers improved space considerations. Also, the present valve plate also has few contact surfaces, thereby reducing leakage and improving pump efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5678985
Abstract: A scroll-type refrigeration compressor is disclosed which incorporates an efficient, reliable, low cost modulation system employing a single actuator to effect switching between full and reduced capacity operation. The modulation system of the present invention includes an annular valving ring rotationally supported on the non-orbiting scroll which operates to ensure simultaneous opening and closing one or more unloading passages thus avoiding the possibility of even transient pressure imbalances between opposed compression pockets during operation of the compressor or in one of the alternative embodiments, providing a controlled imbalance to provide a noise reducing torsional loading on the Oldham coupling. Further, the modulation system of the present invention provides for reduced capacity at both start up and shut down thus enabling the use of more efficient lower starting torque motors and reducing the potential for noise generating reverse rotation on shut down.

  • Patent number: 5664940
Abstract: A gas driven pump has a housing, first and second cylinders disposed within the housing, and first and second interconnected pistons having product intake and product exhaust positions disposed within the first and second cylinders, respectively. A slide valve has first and second positions for alternately pressurizing one of the first and second cylinders and venting the other of the first and second cylinders. A linkage moves the slide valve between the first and second positions thereof in response to movement of the first and second pistons. Over-center construction of the linkage prevents stalling of the slide valve, so as to assure reliable operation of the gas driven pump. The slide valve comprises a slide for placing an inlet port in fluid communication with an alternating one of two pressure/vent ports such that the slide valve scrapes frost build up from the pressure/vent ports as it moves thereover, thereby further enhancing reliability of the gas driven pump.
