Abstract: The conduit sections of a multiple duct conduit system each include a coupling assembly 15 mounted at one end of each conduit section 10, with the coupling assembly including an outer cylindrical coupling 24 and an inner coupling 25. The inner coupling includes an inner receptacle 45 having a support plate 40 with sockets 44 and 45 mounted to both sides of the support plate in alignment with openings in the support plate. O-rings 55 are seated in annular grooves 54 of the passageways formed by the sockets, and internal flanges 48 project inwardly of each passageway. When the conduit sections are connected in end-to-end relationship, the protruding inner ducts 12 of one conduit section 10B are moved into the coupling assembly 15 until the inner ducts 12B are moved into the inner coupling assembly 25, whereupon the relatively small openings 45 of the O-rings 55 are stretched so as to permit passage therethrough of the inner ducts 12. This forms a seal about the inner ducts.
Abstract: In the case of a flange connection for rectangular air conditioning ducts which have four walls, four flange profiles with four rectangular angle-pieces are fitted frame-wise on the end of a duct portion. The flange profiles are in this case subhstantially L-shaped hollow profiles which are in each case fitted onto a duct wall and fixed there with a plurality of spot welds. Problematical is the seal between the inner arm of the flange profile and the duct wall, because by reason of spot welds which are situated close to but at a distance from one another, air can flow out into the free atmosphere between them and over the end face of the duct wall. In order to achieve better tightness, there is formed into the hollow profile a bead extending from the front radial portion. An inner arc of the bead lies with a clamping fit on the top of the duct wall and presses it against the inner longitudinal arm so achieving a seal which it is possible easily to implement in manufacture.
Abstract: A fitting or coupling assembly designed and structured to be used with either high or low pressure hydraulic or gaseous fluids and including a primary body secured to a retaining member, preferably by a threaded connection and each having a respective coaxially aligned central channel and passage, when connected, in which a conduit having a stop member formed on the outer surface thereof is positioned and fixed therein by means of a quick connection and selectively removable therefrom either by a quick disconnection or slow disconnection depending upon selective disengagement of said stop member from said retaining member or alternately disengagement of said primary body from said retaining member.
Abstract: An exterior roll-up shutter consists of positioning strips that can be mounted on an outside wall on or next to the reveals and of a housing that rests against the strips. The housing is constituted of side walls, a floor, a rear and front wall, and a ceiling. The housing accommodates the shaft and panels of the shutter itself. It has a shutter exit extending along its floor in alignment with guide channels in the positioning strips. The shutter also consists of the paneled shutter itself, which is accommodated in the housing. To facilitate both installation of an exterior roll-up shutter of the same overall type and replacement of the paneled shutter itself, each positioning strip, which consists of a length of section with a shutter offset that is accessible from inside the window aperture, has an accommodation that extends along the whole strip. The accommodation is accessible from the weather side.
Abstract: A plastic fence having spaced hollow plastic posts with vertically spaced holes in the posts for receiving rails with a friction fit with the rails having vertical rungs, slats, or both which are received between the rails with a friction fit. A plastic gate construction including a frame fabricated from plastic frame sections connected by elbows, vertical rung and slat members extending vertically in the frame, and plastic hinge members formed integrally with the elbows for mating with cooperating hinge elements mounted on sleeves which are secured to a post of a fence.
Abstract: A frond line (10) for filtering particulate material from currents flowing over a river or sea bed comprises a substantially continuous curtain of randomly overlapping elongate buoyant elements (15) extending transversely in a common direction from a longitudinally folded web (35), the base of each element (15) being gripped between the superposed portions of the folded web. A frond mat is produced by combining spaced parallel rows of the frond lines (10) with spaced generally parallel cross-straps (13) to provide an open grid mat structure. Anchoring straps (20) depend from the mat, each strap carrying a ground anchor plate (12) which is driven into the river or sea bed by a powered driving tool. The frond line (10) is produced by laying discrete transverse strips (31) of synthetic buoyant material along the web (35) so that equal lengths extend from opposite sides of the web (35), folding the web (35) longitudinally, and then securing the superposed portions of the web to one another.
Abstract: A ball projecting machine comprises a ball striker in the form of a bar secured to a shaft rotatably mounted by bearings in a part of a machine frame. The striker carries a pin on the same side of the shaft as the end of the striker which strikes the balls. A tension spring is connected between a fixed part of the machine frame and the pin to bias the striker. The striker shaft is arranged to be rotated by a manually operated lever so that during a cycle of rotation of the striker in the striking direction, the tension spring is stressed during a first part of the cycle and during a second part of the cycle urges the striker to rotate in the striking direction. The lever is connected to the shaft through a first one-way clutch including a coil spring and drums fixed respectively to the lever and to the shaft. The shaft is connected to the machine frame part through a further one-way clutch including a coil spring and drums fixed respectively to the frame part and to the shaft.

Abstract: A frictional drive unit, suitable for effecting linear sliding movement of a structural member into a cantilevered position, includes a frame, at least two sprocket assemblies mounted in bearings in the frame and spaced apart with their rotational axes parallel to each other, and an endless track. This track comprises a plurality of articulated friction pads mounted upon the sprocket assemblies and drivingly engageable with the structural member. Reversible motor means is carried by the frame and is drivingly connected to at least one of the sprocket assemblies.
Abstract: The invention relates to a shock and vibration damping suspension system for mounting a power unit in relation to an engine bed or the like. The power unit comprises a motor or engine and a power transmission arrangement coupled thereto, preferably an inboard-outboard drive for watercraft. The suspension system includes suspension elements which are mounted between the power unit and the engine bed and are provided with damping devices made of resilient material. The invention is characterized in that the suspension elements located in parts of the power unit which, in operation are subjected to lifting forces, are of a first kind where the damping device is subjected to compression and shear forces under the influence of the lifting forces, while the suspension elements located in remaining parts of the power unit are of a second kind where the damping device is subjected to compression and shear forces under the influence of downwardly acting forces.

Abstract: A hand held crossbow. The crossbow has a frame including a handle and a barrel. The crossbow holds an arrow by gripping the back end of the arrow against the top of the barrel. This gripping holds the arrow in place without any necessity of restraining the bow string. The crossbow is fired by releasing the gripper from the back of the arrow.
Abstract: A clamping sleeve for pipes consists of a rubberelastic sealing ring (1) and a clamping ring (2) which encircles the sealing ring and has clamping plates (5) which are directed radially outward, are located opposite one another and are penetrated by a centrally arranged clamping screw (6). The clamping screw (6) is supported on the clamping plates by intermediate pieces (8, 9), of which one is arranged between the head (7) of the clamping screw and the clamping plate, whereas the other directly forms the nut for the clamping screw. The intermediate pieces (8, 9) have a cylindrical cross-section, so that they sit with a cylindrical surface against the adjacent clamping plate (5). Furthermore, the position of the intermediate pieces (8, 9) is fixed at the clamping plate (5) by stops (11, 12). The swivelling capacity of the intermediate pieces (8, 9) relative to the clamping plates (5) makes possible an inclined position of the clamping plates (5) relative to the clamping screw (6) and relative to one another.
Abstract: An automatic pallet changer for replacement of pallets automatically between a pallet magazine storing a plurality of pallets and a pallet table of a machine tool which comprises a rack fixed on the rear of each pallet, a pallet driving pinion engaging with the rack disposed on a side end of the pallet table and a pinion driving apparatus. The pinion is driven to rotate and the rack is moved linearly whereby the pallet is transferred to and from the table of machine tool.
Abstract: A system for the transmission of power formed by a block that has a channel, groove or canal of some length, one or more keys that come in contact with the groove, guide, or with the walls of the channel and with the key or keys holding a shaft or quill in eccentric holes in the keys. The system serves to eliminate or compensate for vibration caused by bent shafts or quills as well as the noise and wear that these can produce.
Abstract: A mechanical pencil wherein a slider 11 in contact with a lead and an outer tube 1 with different frictional resistances other than a lead delivery mechanism for effecting lead-feed by general knocking operation are provided within the outer tube 1 or a fore means 2, whereby the end of a consumed lead 19 is pressed against or released from a surface of paper or the like to thereby project the lead 19 from a lead guide 12 by an amount corresponding to backward movement of the slider 11. The lead-feeding may be easily accomplished merely by pressing operation without changing the grip of the outer tube 1.
Abstract: The invention relates to a friction-disk transmission with a first shaft (19) and a coaxial second shaft (23) which are rotatable about a common axis of rotation (Z). The first shaft (19) is being coupled with a disk (1) which is tilted with respect to the axis of rotation (Z) and engages with friction a disk-shaped supporting member (11) secured to the second shaft (23) and rotatable about the axis of rotation (Z). The disk (1) is supported by an annular spring (3) and is tiltable about two axes (X, Y) which intersect each other perpendicularly and are located in a plane at right angles to the axis of rotation (Z). The tilting point (P) is located substantially at the point of intersection of the X-, Y- and Z-axes. The rotation of the disk (1) about the Z-axis is prevented by the annular spring (3).The friction-disk transmission can be used in apparatus requiring comparatively large transmission ratios, for example if a vacuum-tight separation is desired between the first and the second shaft.

Abstract: A rolling-traction automotive transmission in which a rotary component is urged axially into contact with a second component by the force exerted by pressurized fluid contained in a space defined between the first and a third component, and in which that space is closed by an annular seal so arranged that the fluid within the space bears radially inwardly upon it, so putting the ring into hoop compression rather than hoop tension. The clearance between the first and third components may be "U"-shaped when viewed in axial section, comprising two limbs meeting at their radially-outward extremity; the first limb may constitute the space in which the force separating the first and third components is generated, and the ring seal may be located in the communicating second limb, in alternative constructions either very close to the outer extremity or more inboard, say at the half-radius.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a joggers fluid weighted exercising jug having a handle and fluid weight chambers to each side or end thereof and a dispensing connection actuatable by the teeth of the jogger to partake of a nutritional liquid from within the jug without having to stop jogging. Abstract: An adjusting device for a tractor trailing hitch link provides for adjusting telescoping link from within the cab of the tractor through a shaft connection and permits locking the telescoping link in its adjusted position while isolating the shaft connection from forces imposed on the trailing hitch link.
