  • Patent number: 4756297
Abstract: An air weapon comprising a hand grip and a generally tubular-shaped housing connected thereto having front and rear ends confining a tubular pressure chamber. The pressure chamber is of non-cylindrical configuration thereby providing a pressure chamber of increased volume over that obtainable with a cylindrically shaped chamber without detrimentally affecting the external appearance of the weapon. A cylindrical barrel for discharging a projectile from the weapon is positioned within and coaxial to the pressure chamber. A piston conforming to the configuration of the pressure chamber and adapted to move within the pressure chamber along its axis surrounds the barrel with its piston head facing the rear end of the housing. A piston spring also surrounds the barrel and is positioned against the piston head at one of its ends and against the front end of the housing at its other end.

  • Patent number: 4756529
Abstract: An amusement device which has a substantially spherical configuration, and which is formed from a large plurality of floppy, elastomeric filaments that radiate in a dense, bushy manner from a central core region. The filaments are sufficiently floppy to collapse on impact, thus to absorb enough energy to avoid any tendency to bounce. They are also sufficiently dense and floppy that they tend to quickly thread their way between the fingers of a user on contact with the hand. These features promote sure and quick capture of the device during the act of catching.

  • Patent number: 4754815
Abstract: A sod laying machine having front rear sections articulated together. A boom on the front section has arms extending forwardly, with gripper arms extending downwardly from the boom to grip a roll of sod. A control roller connected to the boom arms drives the sod roll to control its speed of unwinding. The sod roll has its grass side facing outwardly and its top unwinds rearwardly so an operator in a seat at the front of the machine, between the boom arms, has an unobstructed view of the critical area of sod extending in the air from the roll to the ground, to reduce the likelihood of buckles and tears therein. The machine passes over the sod after it is laid, to roll the sod.

  • Patent number: 4751896
Abstract: The present invention comprises a pair of cuff assemblies for the adult and child and an interconnecting strap assembly, all three assemblies being made of the same material which is an extensible fabric band similar to the extensible material used in waist bands for women's skirts and slacks. Other than size, the two cuff assemblies are identical in structure. Loop and pile locking material is used for setting the correct length of each cuff and is placed on the interior of the cuff of that when the cuff is in place, the loop and pile locking material closure is inaccessible. The use of the loop and pile locking material also provides an inextensible portion of the cuff which will prevent the cuff elongated when in place to slip the hand of the wearer out of the cuff.

  • Patent number: 4738315
Abstract: An hydraulic circuit includes a master cylinder and at least one slave cylinder connected in series circuit. An auxiliary discharge conduit with a solenoid-actuated valve is provided to selectively permit the master cylinder to extend its full useful range after the slave cylinders are fully extended. Under normal operation the valve is closed so that the cylinders may extend together. When the slave cylinders reach full extension, the main control valve is kicked out of its detent and the system locks up in that position. If the operator wants the master cylinder to extend further to a second limit position, he opens the solenoid-actuated valve and again operates the main control valve to extend the master cylinder. The system insures that the main control valve will be released from the detent position when the slave cylinder is fully extended at the first limit position of the master cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4738317
Abstract: Locking structure for securing a four-bar linkage or the like on an implement in a raised position to remove an earthworking tool or row unit from ground engagement. An overcenter spring arrangement selectively biases a strap pivotally connected to one arm of the linkage toward or away from a member located on the opposite arm. When the strap is biased toward the member, raising the tool or row unit causes the strap to engage the member to prevent rocking of the linkage and thereby secure the device out of ground contact. Reversing the spring arrangement and raising the device causes the strap to move out of locking engagement with the member for normal operation. An elongated device includes pins for aiding the operator in both moving the over-center spring arrangement between positions and raising the tool or row unit.
