Abstract: The wood tracking system for a production line generally has a wood product optimizer; a wood product trimmer downstream from the optimizer in the production line; a conveyor for moving wood products from the optimizer to the trimmer and across a handling area therebetween, the optimizer being configured to scan each of the wood products in a given order and to generate optimization data for each wood product; and a computer vision system positioned proximate the handling area along the production line, the computer vision system having a camera, a processor in communication with the optimizer and with the trimmer and a computer-readable memory for storing the optimization data, the processor being configured to acquire images of the handling area from the camera, the processor being configured to associate the optimization data of a given wood product across each of the images until it arrives at the trimmer.

Abstract: A remote controller device, according to one embodiment, includes a display screen on which can be displayed a first item of video content as well as video content programming information. The first item of video content is displayed on the remote controller display screen and corresponds to the same video content that simultaneously is being displayed on a screen of a TV that can be controlled by the remote controller device. In response to a user command for selecting a program or video that currently is not being shown on the TV, a second item of video content is displayed on the remote controller display screen while the TV continues to show the first item of video content. In response to another user command, the remote controller device causes the TV to change channels (or otherwise change its reception to another content source) and display the second item of video content.

Abstract: Optimizing ‘actual’ and ‘other’ table type EPG information acquisition. In a broadcast stream multiplex, information is comprised in event information tables of type ‘actual’ that comprises event or program information about a selected service, and of type ‘other’ that comprises event information about other services in the multiplex. An EPG database is updated with the event information comprised in the event information tables under certain conditions only.

Abstract: A processing device of a mobile device of a first user presents a graphical user interface (GUI) of an application providing group communication between the first user and one or more other users in a group, the GUI comprising a portion to receive a message of the first user for adding to the group communication, and a video sharing GUI element selectable by the first user to find a video to be added to the group communication. The processing device receives, via the GUI, a selection of the video sharing GUI element by the first user. Responsive to the selection of the video sharing GUI element, the processing device presents a plurality of video identifiers of videos having playback associated with the first user. Responsive to a selection of at least one of the plurality of video identifiers of at least one selected video, the processing device causes the at least one selected video to be added to the group communication.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to a head-mounted device configured to perform virtual echolocation. The head-mounted device is configured to cast an array of rays at specified angles from a position derived from a pose of the head-mounted device in a physical environment, identify a plurality of intersection points of the rays with a virtual model of the physical environment, for each identified intersection point, modify an audio signal based on a head-related transfer function corresponding to the intersection point to produce a plurality of spatialized audio signals, for each spatialized audio signal, determine a time-of-flight adjustment based upon a distance between the corresponding intersection point and the position from which the rays were cast, and output each spatialized audio signal to one or more speakers with a delay based on the time-of-flight adjustment.

Abstract: A novel intermediary set-top box called a “cast-sling box” (CSB) uniquely incorporates multimedia and/or IoT data casting, slinging, transcoding, referring (i.e. referral mode), rendering, and recording capabilities for seamless interoperability of various electronic devices in a multiple device environment. The novel intermediary set-top box (i.e. “CSB”) is also configured to perform a holistic-level device analysis on a plurality of IoT devices in a home or office environment. Furthermore, a holistic computerized user interface that can simultaneously and synergistically control and manage a multiple number of IoT devices is devised with the CSB as an intermediary set-top box.

Based on the circumferential direction modulation factor and radial direction modulation factor of a lens used in the imaging optical system, a signal including the amount of vertical or horizontal modulation factor correction proportional to an nth power (n is an integer greater than 1) of a distance from a center position of a screen of the two-dimensional display apparatus is outputted for at least one vertical or horizontal frequency of the two-dimensional display apparatus.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing media mosaics are described. One embodiment provides a media mosaic management method in a media device. The method generates a mosaic filter based on a program selected from a first media mosaic. The mosaic filter is used to identify related programs for presentation in a second, customized media mosaic.

Abstract: A system and method for determining unauthorized use of a set top box includes a satellite signal determination module in the set top box receives a satellite signal from a satellite comprising a first satellite signal identifier. A memory in the set top box stores a second satellite signal identifier for a location of the user device. The user device also includes a comparison module comparing the first satellite signal identifier to the second satellite signal identifier and a disable module disabling the user device from processing satellite signals in response to comparing.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and correlating an advertised object with a plurality of interconnected computing devices embedded in a living environment of the user. For example, a media guidance application implemented at a set-top box with a television may receive a signal from a printer indicating that cartridge ink is low. When the user is watching a television show and an advertisement relating to printer cartridges is being played, the media guidance application may identify that the advertised printer cartridges may be something that the user needs, and may then send a notification to a user of the advertisement. In this way, the media guidance application correlates advertisements from a media asset with a user's actual needs, which may improve the advertisement conversion rate for advertisers.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a media guidance application that may enhance viewer experience. The media guidance application may receive video assets from content capture devices at different locations, determine characteristics of the media assets and assign content tags, corresponding to the characteristics, to the media assets. The media guidance application may receive a video-feed request from another location and determine video feed criterion associated with the request. The media guidance application may use a database to determine media assets with characteristics matching the video feed criterion, and may generate for display the media assets in a video feed.

Abstract: A method of advertising, the method including: 1) segmenting a source video into individual scenes using a clustering-based approach; 2) obtaining relevant information about objects in the video for each individual scene using region-wise convolutional characteristics based detection; 3) searching, in a database, for advertisement objects matching the objects using garment retrieval and a category-based strategy; 4) performing optimization processing of retrieved advertisement objects matching the objects to obtain a candidate advertisement; and 5) optimizing a distance between an advertisement and a target object and an area of overlapping regions between the advertisement and all objects; and 6) distributing the video that contains the candidate advertisement to a plurality of displays and displaying the video that contains the candidate advertisement on the plurality of displays.

Abstract: Streaming and storing video for audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, a method for an A/V recording and communication device comprises: recording video image data; executing a write operation to write the video image data at a write rate; executing a read operation to read the video image data at a first read rate that is greater than the write rate; continuing to read the video image data at the first read rate until the read operation catches up to the write operation; reading the video image data at a second read rate equal to the write rate; and transmitting streaming video to a client device, wherein a beginning portion of the streaming video is streamed at a first stream rate and thereafter streaming at a second stream rate less than the first stream rate.

An ordered list of video input files is chained together, to create a single output video file using a chosen container. Timestamp values are tracked, to ensure synchronization of multiple joined clips, optionally using adjustments of the audio channel or the video channel. A video construction server utilizes information from multiple sources, to construct the video clip.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically detecting date information in electronic documents. In some embodiments, a media guidance application may automatically associate a first partial calendar date-and-time indicator to a second partial calendar date-and-time indicator that appears at a separate location in a document. The media guidance application may determine whether the partial calendar date-and-time indicators are correlated, and then combine the partial calendar date-and-time indicators to obtain a complete date-and-time representation.
