  • Patent number: 10595092
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and correlating an advertised object with a plurality of interconnected computing devices embedded in a living environment of the user. For example, a media guidance application implemented at a set-top box with a television may receive a signal from a printer indicating that cartridge ink is low. When the user is watching a television show and an advertisement relating to printer cartridges is being played, the media guidance application may identify that the advertised printer cartridges may be something that the user needs, and may then send a notification to a user of the advertisement. In this way, the media guidance application correlates advertisements from a media asset with a user's actual needs, which may improve the advertisement conversion rate for advertisers.

  • Patent number: 10469892
Abstract: Novel gesture-based multimedia casting and slinging command methods and systems that are configured to accommodate seamless multimedia data and playback transfers across various electronic devices in a multiple display device environment are disclosed. In one instance, a “casting” of an audio/video (AV), graphical, or photographic multimedia content from a touch-screen electronic device to a targeted device (e.g. a television, another portable electronic display device, a cast-sling box, etc.) is intuitively represented by a finger swipe-up gesture command because a finger swipe-up motion mimics a physical motion of pushing, throwing, or sending an item from the touch-screen electronic device to the targeted device.

  • Patent number: 10460180
Abstract: Systems and method are provided for controlling an autonomous vehicle. A camera configured to capture an image, and a controller can execute an autonomous driving system (ADS) that classify that image. The ADS comprises a classification system for classifying objects in an environment within a driveable area of the autonomous vehicle. The classification system comprises a processor configured to execute a region proposal generator module and an image classification module. The region proposal generator module generates a set of bounding box region proposals for the image. The bounding box region proposals are selected areas of the image that include objects to be classified. The image classification module classifies, via a neural network executed by the processor, the objects from the image that are within one of the bounding box region proposals.

  • Patent number: 10419713
Abstract: A reproducing device includes a reproducer that reproduces a content, a communicator that establishes a direct wireless connection to an information terminal, and a controller. The controller determines whether the information terminal is a previously permitted information terminal or not when the communicator receives a content reproduction request from the information terminal through wireless connection. The controller performs first control to power on the reproducer, and issues an instruction to perform the content reproduction to the reproducer, when it is determined that the information terminal is the previously permitted information terminal, and when the reproducer is powered off. The controller does not perform the first control when it is determined that the information terminal is not the previously permitted information terminal.

  • Patent number: 10373458
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to identifying objects of interest and detecting motion to automatically detect a security threat as a function of video frame delta information received from a video encoder. In an illustrative example, the video encoder may be an H.264 encoder onboard a video camera. A cloud server may receive the video frame delta information in a compressed video stream from the camera. Threats may be detected by the cloud server processing the video frame delta information in the compressed video stream, without decompression, to identify objects and detect motion. The cloud server may employ artificial intelligence techniques to enhance threat detection by the cloud server. Various examples may advantageously provide increased capacity of a computer tasked with detecting security breaches, due to the significant reduction in the amount of data to be processed, relative to threat detection based on processing uncompressed video streams.
