Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques and systems for tracking assets using wireless beacons attached to the assets. In some embodiments, an asset tracking system may receive asset tracking data from a mobile device. The asset tracking data may include a device identifier (ID) of a wireless beacon and GPS data (e.g., location and accuracy) of a mobile device in the vicinity of the beacon. The asset tracking system may determine whether the accuracy of the GPS location satisfies an accuracy threshold, and, if so, the asset tracking system may identify a site and determine whether the GPS location reported by the mobile device is within a static radius assigned to the site. If the GPS location is within the static radius assigned to the site, the asset tracking system may associate the wireless beacon to the site.
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for characterizing a plurality of structures of interest on a semiconductor wafer. A plurality of spectra signals are measured from a particular structure of interest at a plurality of azimuth angles from one or more sensors of a metrology system. A difference spectrum is determined based on the spectra signals obtained for the azimuth angles. A quality indication of the particular structure of interest is determined and reported based on analyzing the difference spectrum.

In an implementation, the system and method includes processing data generated by a chromatographic system to generate processed data, analyzing the processed data, and preparing and providing results based on the processed data.
Abstract: Methods and systems for compensating for the absence or loss of a sensor measurement in a heading reference system such as an aircraft attitude and heading reference system, integrated standby unit, or vehicle inertial system, provides an estimate of the lost sensor measurement by estimating the bank angle after a detected vehicle turn. The estimate of the bank angle may also be used to estimate the vehicle's speed. Additionally, when the lost sensor measurement is a temperature measurement, the described methods and systems offer an improvement over estimating air temperature using a standard (e.g., ISA) model. The methods and systems also allow for the refinement of computed estimates using filtering techniques, such as low-pass or Kalman filtering. The methods may be iteratively repeated for each detected turn in order to maintain an accurate estimate of the lost sensor measurement or other estimates, such as vehicle speed.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for monitoring the function of a machine element lubricated by a lubricant. The method includes receiving measured values concerning the lubricant, determining a current chemical composition of the lubricant on the basis of the measured values, comparing the current chemical composition with chemical compositions known in advance, which are stored in a database, wherein function failure tendency values for the use of lubricants having the chemical compositions known in advance in connection with machine elements composed of materials known in advance are stored in the database, identifying a function failure tendency value on the basis of the comparison step, and outputting the function failure tendency value.

Abstract: Lithium ion battery state of charge (SOC) is a function of open circuit voltage (OCV). Battery internal diffusion process needs to be nearly completed to be able to measure battery open circuit voltage. The length of the minimum settling time depends on the battery type, usage and temperature. Described are methods to determine electric vehicle battery voltage relaxation time based on battery temperature and usage history.

Abstract: Systems and methods determine a pump efficiency of a fluid pump. A characteristic of fluid flow of a fluid is monitored at a first point and at a second point on a flow path of the fluid pump. Fluid leakage that is a difference in the characteristic of the fluid flow at the first point and the second point is determined. The fluid leakage is compared to a nominal fluid flow for the fluid pump. The pump efficiency for the fluid pump is generated based on the comparison of the fluid leakage to the nominal fluid flow. The pump efficiency is an indicator as to an amount of fluid leakage that is leaked from the flow path as compared to the amount of fluid leakage when operating with the minimal amount of fluid leakage.

The devices and methods further comprise determining a benchmarking score for the building using the actual weather independent energy consumption value, the actual weather dependent energy consumption value, the ideal weather independent energy consumption value, and the one or more ideal loads for managing energy consumption associated with the building.
Abstract: In an example embodiment, an analysis application is used to optimize sensor placement by minimizing information entropy or maximizing total modal energy. These objectives are achieved by implementing a two-part optimization procedure, involving generating an evaluation database that stores an information matrix, and using the evaluation in conjunction with a genetic algorithm to produce an optimized sensor location set.
Abstract: Multiple camera systems which use laser illumination for ranging benefit from a heartbeat to synchronize the timing of the individual lasers to eliminate collisions of multiple simultaneous laser emissions. An optical micromesh system provides for the dynamic entry and egress of mobile and stationary nodes. The optical communication between nodes may be controlled using time domain multiplexing (TDM) to avoid cross talk and communication collision due to overlapping laser illumination. By using an optical, laser based micromesh network, laser ranging can be used to dynamically map node location.
