  • Patent number: 11752556
Abstract: This invention provides a copper powder to which tin (Sn) is added such that a high-density laminated and shaped product can be obtained by a laminating and shaping method using a fiber laser as a heat source by appropriately reducing the electrical conductivity of copper, so a laminated and shaped product having a high density and a high electrical conductivity can be obtained. That is, this invention provides a copper powder for lamination shaping in which a tin element is added to pure copper. Desirably, the copper powder contains 0.5 wt % or more of the tin element. More desirably, the copper powder contains 5.0 wt % or more of the tin element. When the product has an electrical conductivity sufficient as a copper product, the copper powder desirably contains 6.0 wt % or less of the tin element. Furthermore, no element other than the tin element is desirably added to the copper powder.

  • Patent number: 11708624
Abstract: A method for producing an austempered steel is provided. The method includes subjecting a steel alloy having a silicon content of 1.5 to 4.4 weight percent and a carbon content of 0.3 to 0.8 weight percent to continuous cooling followed by annealing. The cooling rate is initially sufficiently fast to prevent predominant formation of proeutectoid ferrite or pearlite, while subsequently at intermediate temperatures, the cooling rate is sufficiently slow to allow a transformation of the austenite to mainly ausferrite during cooling. The annealing is able to complete the transformation of carbon enriched austenite to ausferrite and to temper any martensite previously formed. The method results in the cost-efficient production of one or more continuously cooled and annealed austempered steel components or semi-finished products having mainly an ausferritic microstructure.

  • Patent number: 11708454
Abstract: This disclosure provides a process for removing acrolein or allyl alcohol from a polyester composition, the process comprising: combining a polyester composition derived from 1,3-propanediol with an amino amide or a primary amine; wherein the amino amide or the primary amine is combined in sufficient quantities to scavenge acrolein or allyl alcohol produced from degradation of the polyester composition. An analysis of reactions between anthranilamide (AAA) and acrolein demonstrates how amines or amino amides can scavenge acrolein from thermally processed poly(trimethylene terephthalate) and poly(trimethylene furan-2,5-dicarboxylate), and thermodynamic models are presented as guidance for matching targets with scavenging agent.
