  • Patent number: 8696283
Abstract: A screw comprising a drive part, a threaded part, and a retaining ring is disclosed herein. Each of the drive part and the threaded part comprises a plurality of interface surfaces that transmit torque from the drive part to the threaded part and prevent the parts from disengaging from one another during use. Each plurality of interface surfaces forms one or more geometric shapes that create additional friction between the drive and threaded parts, and may further include mating pins and holes to prevent the parts from detaching from one another. The retaining ring, which removably connects the screw to a wrench during assembly of the screw with a receptacle, is disposed within a cavity formed when the drive part is assembled with the threaded part.

  • Patent number: 8647036
Abstract: A retainer ring including an outer ring having an exterior surface, an interior surface, and a plurality of spring beam elements extending inwardly from the interior surface, and a central aperture. Each of the spring beam elements includes an elongated arm having a first end attached to the interior surface of the outer ring and a second, free end opposite the first end. Each of free ends of the arms includes a tab portion and a pressure pad that extends from the tab portion. The retainer ring captivates pin members, such as bolts, onto work pieces, such that the pressure pads engage and align with an annular groove of the bolt. When the bolt engages the retainer ring, each of the spring beam elements is displaced and expands radially from a free position to an expanded position in order to enable the bolt to travel through the aperture. The retainer ring captivates the bolt onto the work piece, while providing a positive hold out of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 8640307
Abstract: A hinge has a central element and a surrounding element. One of the central element and the surrounding element is formed by injection molding, and the other element is then formed on the priorly-formed element by injection molding such that a limit segment is mounted around the neck segment having a smallest outer width of the central element, which keeps the surrounding element from departing from the central element, and further simplifies a structure of the hinge. Because a melting point of the element formed priorly is higher than a melting point of the element formed later, the element formed later does not attach to the element formed priorly, and the two elements are relatively rotatable. Finally, because the manufacture of the hinge is accomplished after injection molding twice, the process of manufacturing the hinge is more convenient, faster and lowers the cost.
