  • Patent number: 7104651
Abstract: A color scrolling projection system is provided, including a light source, a color separator, a color scanner, a light valve, and a control circuit. The light source generates and emits light. The color separator separates incident light according to color. The color scanner includes a scrolling unit and a driving source for rotating the scrolling unit. The scrolling unit includes at least one lens cell and converts the rotation of the scrolling unit into the rectilinear motion of a lens array of the scrolling unit through which light passes. The light valve processes color bars according to an input image signal and forms a color image. The control circuit synchronizes the scrolling of the color with the electrical scanning of the light valve according to an image signal. The color bars are scrolled on the light valve due to a rotation of the scrolling unit.

  • Patent number: 7093940
Abstract: An exemplary aspect of the invention can provide a method for easily adjusting the distortion of a projected image. In adjusting the amount of distortion correction, values of the amount of distortion correction for a desired outline form to be formed based on desired positions are calculated after the desired positions can be specified. Then whether all the calculated values of the amount of distortion correction are within a predetermined range where an original image is transformable into a distortion correction image can be judged. If all the calculated values of the amount of distortion correction are within the predetermined range, the calculated values of the amount of distortion correction can be set in an image distortion correction part.

  • Patent number: 7083287
Abstract: A method of monitoring an illumination source including a reflector and a lamp. A reference orientation is defined where the reflector and a light producing luminary of the lamp are aligned to optimize light intensity reflected from the luminary to a desired target. • Patent number: 7083285
Abstract: A partition installed in a housing of a projection apparatus to form a double-layer structure of a first zone and a second zone is used for a component of a cooling structure for the projection apparatus. Moreover, a first air inlet is disposed at the lower part of the first zone and a second air inlet is disposed between the first and the second zones. An air outlet with a duct and a plurality of sound sources and heat elements are disposed in the second zone. Outside air is drawn in from the first air inlet through a fan, then turned to enter the second zone through the second air inlet to cool heat elements and finally exhausted out of the system from the air outlet through the duct. Besides, the installments of the partition and the duct allow the distance of the sound source broadcasting to be lengthened and the diffusion light to be blocked so that both the noise and the leaking of the diffusion light can be reduced effectively.

  • Patent number: 7083286
Abstract: A projector projecting an image onto a screen, comprises a lamp emitting light; an optical system having an optical synthesizer including a blue panel, a green panel and a red panel, and an optical component disposed along an optical path from the lamp to the optical synthesizer; a cooling fan generating cool air cooling the optical system; and a guiding duct guiding the cool air to be distributed into a first passage and a second passage. With this configuration, the present invention provides a projector in which a guiding duct is partitioned and therefore cool air is distributed according to whether the cool air is sent to a relatively high temperature place or a relatively low temperature place in an optical system, preventing energy from being wasted by efficiently cooling some components of the optical system without overcooling others, and reducing noise caused by a cooling fan and air flow.

  • Patent number: 7076161
Abstract: A lens-fitted photo film unit comprises a main body, a bottom lid, and a photo film. The main body has an exposure chamber with a taking lens. The exposure chamber is provided with a plane mirror disposed in such a manner as to be inclined 45 degrees with respect to the optical axis of the taking lens. Since the plane mirror reflects light from a subject, a photographic optical path of the light is perpendicularly bent. Subject light forms an image on the photo film disposed in parallel with the optical axis. A side print is exposed in the manufacture on the lateral edge of the photo film. Since the orientation of the photographed image is the same as that of the side print, it is possible to easily confirm the orientation of the photographed image in the development and print processes.

  • Patent number: 7070280
Abstract: A method and apparatus or configuration generates light of a given polarization state (P). A polarization state-sensitive beam splitter is acted upon by light (L) at an input (E1), light (LP) of the given polarization state being output by the beam splitter (1) at a first beam splitter output (A1). Light (LS) with polarization state (S) that is perpendicular to the given state (P) is changed with respect to this state and also output. The light of the changed polarization state again acts upon the polarization state-sensitive beam splitter at the input (E1). The apparatus or configuration achieves this by having the optic input (E3) of a polarization state-changing structural element whose optic output (A3) is operationally connected to the optic input (E1) of the polarization state-sensitive beam splitter, operationally connected to the second optic output (A2).

  • Patent number: 7066611
Abstract: A beam projector is aligned with a linear array of receptors. An alignment receptor is at each end of the linear array of receptors. A beam is projected from the projector. The beam is swept until the alignment receptors sense the beam. A signal is transmitted upon each of the alignment receptors sensing the beam. The position of the beam projector is recorded in response to the transmitted signals. The alignment position of the beam projector, to align with the linear array of receptors, is computed from the recorded positions. The beam projector is aligned with the linear array of receptors according to the alignment position.
