  • Patent number: 11149431
Abstract: Roof brackets for attaching a structure such as a patio cover to a building, and methods for installing the brackets. The brackets have a saddle for receiving a support beam of the structure. The brackets can be attached to the building roof, but do not penetrate the roof substrate, thus preventing leakage and other structural problems. The roof brackets comprise a plate that is installed between the roof substrate and the shingles or tile on the roof. The brackets are available in different configurations compatible with standard roof pitches for easy installation. One roof bracket has a riser so that the saddle is lifted above the roof. Another roof bracket is configured so that when installed the saddle is located beyond the edge of the roof. Other brackets can be attached to the rafters under the roof, are available in different configurations depending on standard roof pitch, and they are configured to extend below and outward from the fascia.

  • Patent number: 11098485
Abstract: Methods and processes for depositing a fire resistant barrier on a construction material involve coating exposed webbing of, for instance, an I-joist with a fire-resistant material using a wetting layer and a thickening layer. A time period between depositing the wetting layer and thickening layer is controlled to facilitate complete wetting of the exposed webbing. Filler such as fiberglass may be included in the thickening layer. The wetting and thickening layers may be deposited on the webbing in the same application. The construction material, such as the I-joist, may then be subjected to a curing treatment and additional curing period followed by coating the second side using a similar methodology.

  • Patent number: 11072932
Abstract: Systems and methods of shotcrete construction are contemplated whereby guide rails are placed in proximity and forward to a shotcrete receiving surface, with any guide rails disposed directly in front of the shotcrete receiving surface being configured to be offset from the receiving surface allowing shotcrete to be sprayed behind the offset guide rails. Following application of shotcrete, a screed configured to engage with and traverse along at least two of the guide rails may be used to rod the shotcrete via a protruding region of the screed extending beyond the guide rails, thereby removing excess shotcrete and imparting to the shotcrete surface a contour at least partially defined by the configuration of the guide rails and the configuration of the protruding region of the screed. Complex, precise, and even exotic architectural shotcrete installations may be created in this fashion by providing a suitable set of guide rails and screed.
