Abstract: A plurality of wall cells rest upon an underlying cementitious foundation and form a perimeter of the vault. Each wall cell has two lateral sides with mating surfaces thereon which are of complementary undulating shape with adjacent lateral surfaces of adjacent wall cells. The wall cells have different thicknesses and widths to provide desirable wall thickness for a different portions of the oncology vault. A door assembly formed of specialized wall cells and with a pivoting door element are also included within the wall. A ceiling is provided above space inboard of the wall cells. This ceiling is formed of separate ceiling slab elements. The slabs are stacked in at least one layer. In one embodiment, multiple layers of slabs are stacked with seams between slabs of each layer offset from each other. In another embodiment, lateral sides of the slabs have a complementary undulating shape.
Abstract: Disclosed is a suspended ceiling system, a securing member, and process of installing a patterned suspended ceiling system. The suspended ceiling system includes a grid system having first members and second members, and at least one substrate which extends below the grid system. The at least one substrate has an exposed surface and a concealed surface, and the at least one substrate has first sides and second sides which extend between the exposed surface and the concealed surface. Securing members attach to the concealed surface proximate the first sides, and the securing members have grid engagement members which secure the at least one substrate to the grid system. The securing members cooperate with the first members and the second members of the grid system to properly position the substrate and the spacing between adjacent at least one substrates is controlled.
Abstract: A hybrid mausolino system that includes a metal frame structure forming levels within which a crypt area and a niche area are defined. The metal frame structure forms an upper level that resides just below a roof and includes a plurality of inter-locking panels that partition this level into niche spaces. Some embodiments include a removable roof with a lintel structure having access ports positioned over the niche spaces and lids secured to each access port. The reconfigurable niche spaces allow for adjustment of niche spaces to provide for increased versatility and efficient use of mausolino space. The niche spaces are horizontally orientated and can be accessed via a side panel of the structure for interment or disinterment. With embodiments having a removable roof, the niche spaces can be accessed via a side panel, or the roof can be removed allowing for top access to the niche space.
Abstract: A building structure includes a core extending upright through and supporting the weight of one or more stories of the building structure, each story including one or more floor units, at least one story forming an outer peripheral portion, and an inner support portion through which the story is supported by the core via an interface along the perimeter of the core, wherein the horizontal cross-section of the core has a substantially circular external perimeter at the level of the interface, the interface and the inner support portion of the story, wherein at least one story is stiffened by a space frame extending from the inner support portion to the outer peripheral portion and making the story a self-supporting rigid body cantilevered off the core and structurally independent of all other stories, wherein the story transmits gravity-induced loads to the core via the interface only by means of vertical forces.
Abstract: Disclosed is a panel enclosure system for enclosing partially unenclosed structures. The system includes a panel member assembly preferably comprising at least two panel members and a securing member that removably secures the panel member assembly over the unenclosed portion of a structure. The panel members of the panel member assembly may be individually removed to vary the degree of exposure to outdoor weather and environmental conditions.
