  • Patent number: 10880108
Abstract: Systems and methods for multicasting a dataset to a fleet of vehicles by a deadline based on respective transit schedules of vehicles in the fleet are disclosed. Based on the vehicle transit schedules, a time segment may be determined for delivering at least a portion of the dataset to at least a subset of the vehicles in the fleet. The determination may be based on a maximum number of fleet vehicles that are scheduled to be simultaneously in transit. The determination may be additionally or alternatively based on an available transmission bandwidth, a time segment duration, a minimum transit duration, and/or other criteria. A multicast transmission including at least a portion of the data set is initiated based on the determination. Multiple multicasts and unicasts may achieve the complete transmission of the entire dataset to the entire fleet of vehicles prior to a deadline.

  • Patent number: 10863492
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication using various patterns of data and reference signals are described. For example, in a system that supports operation using different duration transmission time intervals (TTIs), a base station may initiate communication with a user equipment (UE) or between two UEs, and UEs may communicate with the base station or with one another using an indicated pattern of data and reference signals. The base station may send a downlink control message indicating a transmission pattern selected from a set of patterns. UEs may identify the pattern based on the indicator and decode a sequence of data and reference signals based on the pattern. In some examples, the sequence may include a set of TTIs, which may have a shorter duration than other TTIs.

  • Patent number: 10833788
Abstract: Methods are disclosed which can be performed by a network node for sending to a wireless device a first synchronization signal and an associated information message, for synchronization of the wireless device with the network node. The network node and the wireless device operate in a wireless communications network. The network node sends the first synchronization signal in N OFDM symbols within a subframe, at least once in a time and frequency position in every one of the N OFDM symbols. N is equal or larger than 2. For each sending of the first synchronization signal, the network node sends an associated information message at a pre-defined time and frequency position in an OFDM symbol. The pre-defined time and frequency position is relative to the time and frequency position of the first synchronization signal. The associated information message is associated with the first synchronization signal.

  • Patent number: 10742309
Abstract: Fifty seven percent of the world's population, some 4.2 billion people, reside in places without internet access. Consequently, these areas also have no or limited infrastructure to deploy Internet of Things (IoT) devices/sensors. Numerous companies are racing to fill this communication gap and provide internet not only to those without internet but to also improve and provide additional options to those with internet access. One exemplary aspect is capable of providing a technically unique lower-cost solution for internet connectivity, and in particular for applications requiring real-time and/or near-real-time connectivity.

  • Patent number: 10673910
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for differentiating a portion of network traffic having an Internet Protocol-based attribute with reasonable certainty. In one implementation, data corresponding to a delivery of network traffic across a communications network is received. A first filter is applied to obtain a first subset of the data based on one or more characteristics of originating access traffic. The first subset includes network traffic known to originate with the Internet Protocol-based attribute. A second filter is applied to data excluded from the first subset based on one or more characteristics of terminating access traffic to obtain a second subset of the data. The second subset includes network traffic known to terminate with the Internet Protocol-based attribute. The first subset is correlated with the second subset to identify the portion of network traffic having the Internet Protocol-based attribute.

  • Patent number: 10652382
Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, devices, and program products for selecting a wireless transmission mechanism. A computing device receives a request to begin a full-duplex voice communication session with a remote computing system. The computing device identifies that it has wirelessly connected to both a WWAN access point and a WLAN access point. The computing device determines whether a level of non-voice session data that is queued for transmission or receipt by the computing device falls beneath a threshold level of data, and as a result, switches to using a single one of multiple WLAN radio chains. The computing device communicates data over the single one of the multiple WLAN radio chains, including voice session data from the full-duplex voice communication session.

  • Patent number: 10630774
Abstract: It is assumed that some railway vehicles each include a control device and other railway vehicles include no control devices and that one or more control devices may be included in a train information. If only one control device is included in the train formation, there is no problem. However, if two or more control devices are included therein, it means that multiple control systems exist therein, so that it is necessary to determine a control system consistently. When a train is activated and started for operations or when railway vehicles are coupled together or divided, a management server, which has the smallest IP address value assigned, for example, by a DHCP and which exhibits the highest processing speed, controls, as a main management server, all of such systems. Even if any trouble occurs in a network or in a network device, the management system is automatically reconstituted.
