  • Patent number: 9401863
Abstract: In a multiple interface, low power and lossy network comprising a plurality of devices, interface options for a source route to minimize self-interferences are desired. The ability to request a interface technology for a device to use with neighboring devices allows multiple transmissions to occur simultaneously without interfering with each other. A root phase device obtains interface option information from the devices. Each device in a network path determines the interface options available, such as powerline communications (“PLC”) and radio frequency (“RF”). The device transmits the interface options to the parent device. The parent device transmits the interface options up the network path toward the root phase device, which collects the interface options and determines transmission routes to any needed endpoint device. The transmission route will comprise the device routes and a interface option for each hop from a parent device to a child device.

  • Patent number: 9369293
Abstract: A multi-destination expansion table is stored that comprises a first database containing data representing all nodes in a singly linked list that is a superset of nodes for a plurality of multi-destination groups and a second database storing data representing multi-destination group specific arcs across one or more nodes. The singly linked list is traversed to determine how to replicate a packet for a particular multi-destination group. The packet is replicated based on interface data stored in the first database associated with the current node address. When a match is found in the second database, a next node address is determined from the second database. When a match is not found in the second database, a next node address determined from accessing the first database. Traversing of the singly linked list is terminated when the next node address is determined to be invalid or null.

  • Patent number: 9351288
Abstract: A system includes a base station configured to communicate with a plurality of mobile stations. The base station transmits downlink timing synchronization and establishes frequency synchronization with at least one of the plurality of mobile stations. The base station receives, from the mobile station, at least one of: coarse sounding reference signal (SRS), and fine SRS. The base processes at least one of the coarse SRS to enable tracking of the preferred uplink (UL) slice for uplink transmissions, and the fine SRS in order to resolve a short-term small-scale channel state information (CSI), estimate a CSI from at least one of the coarse SRS and fine SRS, and perform uplink scheduling and grant. The mobile station performs uplink scheduling request and uplink data communication.

  • Patent number: 9294584
Abstract: In one embodiment, a router establishes a serial-over-TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) communication session between terminal units using raw-TCP encapsulation. For the session, the router maps serial characters to TCP out-of-band (OOB) communication fields, maps serial flow control signals to TCP/IP receiver-window advertisements, and dynamically adjusts a TCP/IP priority based on serial payload priority. Accordingly, the router may thus communicate data over the serial-over-TCP/IP session based on the mappings and priority.

  • Patent number: 9265000
Abstract: A wireless communication device with a plurality of transceivers analyzes a plurality of throughput profiles corresponding to the plurality of transceivers to determine a division of a total throughput into a plurality of individual throughputs corresponding to the plurality of transceivers. Data is transmitted to a remote communication device by allocating data for transmission among the plurality of transceivers based on the plurality of individual throughputs.

  • Patent number: 9264299
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques for implementing Transparent PSTN Failover. In some embodiments, a VoIP switch might receive a call request for connection between a calling party at a calling telephone number (“TN”) and a called party at a called TN. Based on a determination that connection via a session border controller (“SBC”) between the VoIP switch and an Internet Protocol (“IP”) gateway has been lost, the VoIP switch might route the call request to a PSTN redirect TN through the PSTN. One of the Class 5 switch of the PSTN or the IP gateway might replace the redirect TN with the called TN, based on a determination that the redirect TN represents a PSTN failover. The IP gateway may then route the call request to an IP PBX for terminating (establishing) the call connection between calling party and called party, without interception by an operator, receptionizt, or auto attendant.

  • Patent number: 9240943
Abstract: A metropolitan area network (MAN) communications method, a metropolitan area server, a node switch, a node server, and a MAN communication system for solving the incapability of an IP network in ensuring transmission quality. The communications method comprises: a piece of MAN equipment accessing a MAN, the metropolitan area server in the MAN allocating for the network accessing equipment a protocol tag and a MAN address; the MAN equipment comprising the node switch and the node server; the protocol tag being used as a description of the connection between the MAN equipment and the metropolitan area server; for each cross MAN service request, the metropolitan area server allocating a data tag of the corresponding service: the data tag being used as a description of the connection among the service node related to the service. This invention is applicable in multimedia transmission, and is capable of ensuring a stable transmission rate, thereby avoiding delays.

  • Patent number: 9231831
Abstract: A method of converting a routing mode of a network is provided, wherein a plurality of first routes connected a central controller to a plurality of nodes are established in the network through a spanning tree protocol and a plurality of second routes between the nodes in the network through the spanning tree protocol. The method includes enabling a firewall of each of the nodes to block the second routes; disabling a spanning tree protocol function of each of the nodes; populating a forwarding table of each of the nodes with a plurality of predetermined routing paths; and flushing the firewall of each of the nodes, wherein a plurality of third routes between the central controller and the plurality of nodes are established according to the predetermined routing paths without the spanning tree protocol, after the firewall of each of the nodes is flushed.

  • Patent number: 9226183
Abstract: The embodiments disclosed relates to a method and a network node that estimates a signal power and/or noise power of a received reference signal. The receiving node may operate in a communications system applying frequency division multiplexing. An assumption is that the channel frequency responses, on adjacent subcarriers of the communications system are equivalent or constant. The method comprising receiving a reference signal comprising a first reference signal from a first wireless terminal and a second reference signal from a second wireless terminal By using this assumption it is possible to combine first and second reference signal in order to estimating the signal power and/or noise power of a received reference signal without a conventional channel estimation technique.
