Abstract: In a content supply system, in order to use a streaming server to perform a live distribution, a user PC used makes a reservation for a time zone, etc. to a server reservation control center. When the user PC sends desired reservation information to the server reservation control center via the Internet, if the reservation is accepted, a reservation ID only used for authentication of the reservation is created and sent from the server reservation control center to the user PC via the Internet. When a distribution request is sent from the user PC to the streaming server, authentication processing using this reservation ID is performed.

An example method includes extracting, by executing a first instruction with a processor, characters from first cookies stored in a first memory space, the first cookies collected from client devices via network communications, and in response to the processor determining that at least two of the first cookies (1) include a same pattern of characters, and (2) correspond to a same first demographic, executing a second instruction with the processor to store, in a second memory space, the pattern of characters in association with the first demographic to indicate that the pattern of characters and the first demographic are both representative of a same first unique audience member.

Abstract: An edge node of a content delivery network (CDN) service receives a representation of a browsing request from a client-side component of a split-browser service (SBS). The SBS includes a browsing engine implemented at a provider network. The edge node determines whether content retrieval analysis of the browsing request is to be performed at the edge node. In response to a determination that content retrieval analysis of the browsing request is not to be performed at the edge node, the edge node uses a routing knowledge base of the CDN service to identify a network route to the SBS browsing engine and transmits the representation of the browsing request via the identified network route to the SBS browsing engine for content retrieval and related processing.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a method and apparatus for providing a tenant redundancy architecture that does not require reserving a complete set of duplicate resources, pushing complexity into the application domain or require the application to communicate simultaneously with two active tenant instances. In particular, a shadow tenant is created that has the functionality of the service tenant but is hidden from the rest of the network until activated.

Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to embedding private comments in public messages. In particular, it relates to customizing public messages by including private comments that are directed to specific recipients. The private comments are included in the context of the public messages sent to their intended recipients but excluded from the public message when it is sent to other recipients. The private comments can be viewable only to their intended recipients and in the context of the public response. The public response as seen by recipients not intended to receive private comments does not include the private comments. This enables a sender of a private comment to efficiently communicate selected information to specific recipients without burdening all recipients with information which may not be relevant for them. Furthermore, it preserves the overall context of the original message.

Abstract: A proxy that encapsulates computer code transmitted between a client and a server is disclosed. The proxy encapsulates one portion of the computer code within another portion of computer code, such as encapsulating Javascript within HTML or encapsulating Javascript within VBScript within HTML. The proxy could selects portions of the computer code to encapsulate in accordance with a selective algorithm or a randomizer, and could randomize function names that are executed to produce the encapsulated code. If the proxy detects a response from a client that is malformed, the proxy could trigger appropriate security measures to adjust communication protocols with the client.

Abstract: Method and system are provided for network device configuration management. The method includes: receiving a set of user commands for configuration of a network device; retrieving a syntactic model of a network device configuration interface for a network device type and generating a modelled configuration of a current configuration of the network device; predicting the effect of the user command on the modelled configuration to generate a predicted modelled configuration; and applying rules for a user and/or network device type to determine if the command is permitted based on the predicted modelled configuration of the network device. Predicting the effect of the user command predicts in near real-time the effect on the network device configuration of a command that the user enters.

Abstract: Techniques are described for analyzing communication data packets captured at a computing device, and identifying subsets of packets that carry data for a connection or a communication involving the computing device. Incoming and outgoing packets may be captured using a packet capture process that executes separately from the services involved in the communications. A subset of the captured packets is determined that correspond to a transport layer connection carrying communications with a remote system. A sequence of packets associated with an application layer communication may be reconstructed by analyzing the subset of packets associated with the connection. The packets associated with the application layer communication or the transport layer connection may be stored in order, and accessed to diagnose communication issues.

Abstract: A method may include, in a computing device comprising at least one processor and a memory, generating at least one information beacon from each of a plurality of applications installed on the computing device. Each information beacon may include application analytics data associated with a corresponding application while the corresponding application is running on the computing device. The at least one information beacon from each of the plurality of applications may be stored in a common location in the computing device. The stored at least one information beacon may be dispatched from each of the plurality of applications to a network device communicatively coupled to the computing device. The generating may be triggered by beacon generation code implemented in each of the plurality of applications installed on the computing device.

Plugin interfaces for a compute service, object service, network service, authentication and authorization service, message service, and image service are disclosed. One or more of the plugin interfaces can be used to alter the allocation of virtual to physical resources across multiple services. Compound services and smart allocation facilities are possible with user-directed modification.

Abstract: Software for a distributed streaming platform launches an application that runs on a streaming platform, in real time or near real time rather than offline. The application is structured as a directed acyclic graph (DAG) with instances of operators as nodes and streams as edges between nodes. The software receives an indication that a first instance of an operator is I/O bound. A stream connects the first instance of an operator to a second instance of another operator in a single container provided by the streaming platform. The software then transmits the indication to the application and receives a request to combine the first instance with the second instance into a single third instance of an operator. The software creates the third instance and re-initiates the stream using a recovery policy.

Abstract: Work-load management in a client-server infrastructure includes setting request information in accordance with request semantics corresponding to a type of request from a client. The request semantics include different request-types provided with different priorities during processing. Within a server, requests with high priority are included in a standard request processing queue. Further, requests with low priority are excluded from the standard request processing queue when server workload of the server exceeds a predetermined first threshold value.

Abstract: A communication session is established between a wireless device and a first access node, where the wireless device is located in a first coverage area of the first access node and located in a second coverage area of a second access node. A communication schedule is determined for the first access node and the second access node to communicate with the wireless device. The communication schedule can comprise a first portion and a second portion. Communication is performed between the first access node and the wireless device during the first portion, and between the second access node and the wireless device during the second portion.
